That Mysterious Girl...

For those of you who have seen the poster for the new Wii Zelda, wouldn't you agree that the girl looks a lot like the fairy queen from Wind Waker?

That's one theory that came up and, also, someone on DeviantART pointed out that she may be the reincarnation of the master sword (because, as you know, Link doesn't have a sword according to the poster)

Thoughts?

Can the Fairy Queen from WW be involved at all in the Child-Link timeline? It is possible that she existed before OoT and all, I know. But still :p
The figure on the poster seems far more muture than the FQ as well. Then again, it's possible that she chose to look a bit different in the Child-Link timeline.

Mastersword? Seems possible, but I don't have any thoughts about it. I kinda like NOT making theories about stuff. Just did though, lol.  :(

You need to listen to the podcast, love.

What did it say? My computer runs too slow to load podcasts. I have Dial-up.

You could read the transcript, found here. ;)

Advanceshipping and Rion had better be Chuck Norris approved.

Thank you! But...the page says stuff like "news file doesn't exist" and stuff. It just looks like a big mess of HTML.

Aw, confound it. It must've gone dead on me or something. I'll see if I can get a fresh link.

EDIT: Okay, see if this works. If it doesn't, try this one instead.

You know, I've been thinking about this lately, and I started to wonder if perhaps this is the game centering around the Great Flood. I know they state that the hero did not appear, but it would still be cool if that were the case. I mean, it says that the game is placed a long time after Twilight Princess, but because Hyrule is still intact (if indeed it is), then it took place before the Great Flood. I've also noticed that the "Mysterious Girl" looks a lot like a Zora in Twilight Princess art style. What if it was the spirit of a Zora who knows what's going to happen to her people (the disappearance of the Zora in Wind Waker). It is theorized that the Zora transformed into the Rito, and while it is heavily heavily implied in the games, they never straight up said that it was the case. Here's to wishful thinking, and hoping for a Project Deluge.

HERE'S SOMETHING TO BLOW YOUR MINDS

Maybe that isn't Link.  Maybe that isn't the Hero at all.  Maybe this is Valley of the Deluge, and the Hero failed to show up-- and only the Hero can wield the Master Sword.  Since there's no one to use it in the face of the impending doom, the Sword awoke as a being and is aiding another hero, but isn't being used as a sword per se.  I mean, it's a stretch, but... that'd be cool.

Hi no Seijin

Supposing that Nintendo is following their split timeline dealie, ZV, I don't think the Great Flood is going to be happening any time after the events of Twilight Princess; wasn't it stated that TWW took place in the Adult Timeline while TP took place in the Child Timeline?

Not stated but heavily implied.
Now I'm not really sure I wan't to play a game about the flood...
Aunuma said tha game would take place in another era, not necessarily after TP.

Well, notice that in the art, we got OoT Link's hair style back :)
And you're right HnS, I thought about that already, but just because it has TP graphics doesn't necessarily mean that it has to be in the same timeline at TP. I, for some reason, remember somebody stating that it was being placed AFTER TP. If it just says in the different era, then it could be anything. I'll see if I can find when they said that it would after TP.

Anyone notice how they're standing in a seemingly fresh hole in a wall? And that the girl is facing it, as if she just blew it open or something, while Link is watching their backs. But the looks of it it could very possibly be the other way around, Link is the one facing forward, having just blown it up somehow, and the girl is watching their backs.

Actually, it looks to me as if her eyes are closed... You think Nintendo did this on purpose so that we'd over-analyze it?

larwaa

Who said that she even has to open her eyes to see? :p I mean, look at her. She's certainly special. I actually looked closer when you said that, about her eyes being closed. But if you look real close, in a large-scale pic, you can see an iris and a pupil, or something that very much resembles it anyways. And considering how her entire head is made out of a silvery substance, why should we think that her eyes are any different?

Perhaps that's exactly what they want us to do? Analyze it, make up theories.. And so they can see what the people want and perhaps make a game inspired by what they've read. I'm not saying that Nintendo has lost it's spark and needs a new source of inspiration, gah. I'm sure you understand what I mean. If not, I'm sorry that I'm unable to make myself any clearer.

Btw: As I was looking at a large-scale version of the picture, I noticed something that very much resembles an eye. Right next to the tip of Link's shield, on the left. Though it's probably just my imagination.

And here's a link for a large-scale pic of what we are looking at.
