HERE'S SOMETHING TO BLOW YOUR MINDS

Maybe that isn't Link.  Maybe that isn't the Hero at all.  Maybe this is Valley of the Deluge, and the Hero failed to show up-- and only the Hero can wield the Master Sword.  Since there's no one to use it in the face of the impending doom, the Sword awoke as a being and is aiding another hero, but isn't being used as a sword per se.  I mean, it's a stretch, but... that'd be cool.

That blew mah eyes. lol

I think that's a good theoryyy, Tacheon.

DW

The only thing is that it doesn't really seem like Nintendo's style...it would be great, but the likelihood of them using something like that just doesn't seem very high.

I heard a theory. A very interesting one.

According to this guy, if I remember everything correctly, the cave symbolizes the mind, and the fire represents destruction. What if the game goes over the concept of Link's mind?

Although that's interesting, I doubt now that Zelda has turned "casual" they're going to delve that deeply into psychology.

MagmarFire

I was thinking more about the simple concept of his sanity, but whatever.

I'm leaning more towards the ideas that:
A) Ganondorf/someone else destroyed the Master Sword completely
B) The entity is the spirit of the Master Sword.

These are the two most likely outcomes IMHO.
Someone please correct me, because I'm not too fond of either of these plots, especially the second one.

MagmarFire

Why not the second one? Just curious.

Well, it just sounds silly if you ask me.
I mean, if two sages have to pray power into the master sword, then why would it need its own entity?
Also, it's the one everyone is predicting, and it would make the game far less surprising =P
The master sword doesn't need a spirit inside of it, and it's never been mention ANYWHERE at ANY TIME.
Bottom line, I don't like it. :P

MagmarFire

Fair enough, fair enough. :P

Yeah, it probably would suck if it were that predictable... Twilight Princess kind of disappointed me in that respect since Midna turned out to be the titular Twilight Princess, and given all the info and time we had prior to the game's release, I could see it almost a mile away. T.T

For now, I guess my verdict is that the less info they give us prior to the release, the better. Good call, ZV.

ZeldaFreak

When I first saw the girl I thought she was a Zora. I don't know why, maybe its because she's that silvery blue color. ;)

MagmarFire

Her clothes probably help that along a bit, don't they?

For those of you who have seen the poster for the new Wii Zelda, wouldn't you agree that the girl looks a lot like the fairy queen from Wind Waker?

That's one theory that came up and, also, someone on DeviantART pointed out that she may be the reincarnation of the master sword (because, as you know, Link doesn't have a sword according to the poster)

Thoughts?

Update time! Nintendo actually confirmed that the girl is the Master Sword. Something about her popping up and Link using her when battling...?

MagmarFire

Wasn't that confirmed for a while now? XD

More recently, Eiji Aonuma said that he doesn't consider Steve to be female, per se. (Out of respect, I'll still refer to Steve as female.) I just hope that they'll give her some interesting backstory. ...Not that I should be worried, since that's been happening quite a lot in Zelda games lately, and that's a good thing. Here's hoping they don't blow off all the juicy bits at the beginning.

...Still, there are gonna be shippers regardless, so it should be an interesting outcome... XD

I guess people loved Midna so much that they introduced another mechanic just like her.  Makes sense from a sales standpoint.

But wasn't Midna just another navi/tatl?

So technically don't they love the Navi/Tatl mechanic?

Although Navi and Tatl wen't really heavily related to the story.
