Wikileaks

So Assange, the spokesman and founder of the controversial site Wikileaks, has recently announced that the next series of leaks will cover extraterrestrial files previously guarded by the American government. Now, the government is really taking this site seriously. More than they have since the site's founding, and the outcry is astounding. Any thoughts on the whole Wikileaks thing going on? I actually can't find the site anymore :P

Hi no Seijin

I never even heard of it until yesterday.

Sh*t didn't get real until yesterday  :P :P :P

edit: But yeah, I haven't been paying too much attention to it until now. Mainly because I didn't really care about the secrets they were "leaking". But as a huge UFO/Extraterrestrial cover-up activist, this is huge to me.

In fact, according to (non-credible) sources on the site, the government has been given a disclosure deadline: December 31, by 11:59pm, 2010. If the government doesn't comply, the ET's will make public appearances, forcing the U.S. to disclose the issue. Again, the source isn't known, and so it's not credible, but that would be totally awesome.

I agree with Hi no Seijin. I only heard about the site a few days ago and I'm still a little confused.

Let me explain what Wikileaks is about.

They gather classified US documents (through unknown sources) and make them public. Now you're probably thinking, "Oh, the poor government! The government like Sally down the street, and now she knows and won't talk to him..."

Let me tell you something that might make you think the other way. This isn't an exact quote, but I'm going to paraphrase. If you don't feel like reading what I've got to say, you can find the video I'm explaining here.

United States Report: There was a resistance in an Iraqi town yesterday. One of our helicopters spotted men armed with RPG's and AK-47's. They quickly noticed us, and opened fire on us. We promptly responded with engaging the enemy with heavy fire. An armored vehicle showed up to salvage what was left of them, and we engaged it as well. Ground forces moved in later to take the town in what was a successful takeover.

What actually happened: An American helicopter was watching a town of what looked like relaxed townspeople. Watching the video, I spotted nothing that resembled a weapon, just a couple of cameras and camera bags. They then radioed back to command and told them that they were being fired at, and wanted permission to engage. Permission was granted, and they shot them to bits. They looked like peaceful civilians, and the American troops proceeded to shot them down even as they were running for their lives. A van rolled up, presumably to help out a survivor of the unprovoked attack. Kids could be seen in the windows of the van, but American forces made no attempt to exercise restraint. They fired on the van, killing many and luckily only injuring the two children.

It's BS, and Wikileaks was right to show this to the public. It's also proof that the military   would deliberately lie to us. If you chose to read what I wrote, I still urge you to watch the video. It's really quite shocking, and they go further into detail than I did.

I know... It's depressing.

Recently, Wikileaks was shut down, but it was back up and running in less than a few hours. Assange assured the government that if the site is attacked again, they'll release all of the files they have all at once. I don't know how they're gonna handle it. They can't arrest everyone who is a part of it because they're all well hidden. We'll see what happens within the next few days. I've unfortunately missed the last few Daily Show and Colbert Reports, so I don't know how they've been covering the issue either.

Why must humans live in ways that require forcible domination over others, anyway? What are we competing for?

Okay, no, it's not oil. Don't pull that card. We can get oil from plenty of other places if we wanted to. That's not the issue here.

Anyways, there WAS a visible AK in that video. I only saw one, and think that engaging them was incredibly questionable, but what really disturbed me was listening to them talk about the people they were shooting, and the way they mercilessly killed everyone in the area, armed or not, and enjoyed it.

"Yeah look at those dead bastards."
That quote really irked me.

We're killing each other...to survive? Keeping the alternative of just leaving others alone in mind, am I the only one who notices the flaw in the logic?

Humanity is naturally flawed.

Why does this remind me so much of Vietnam?

Because we're on the brink of war with Asians? I don't know, maybe it's just that it feels like a pointless war, and everyone wants to get the hell our of Afghanistan, but not the commander and chief and his house of derp-asentitives.
