Play as Zelda? (Pure Speculation)

I have heard rumors that Zelda herself might be a playable character in "Twilight Princess". I believe these rumors started when people first saw that artwork of Zelda holding an elegant sword.

IF Zelda is playable, I have two theories about how it will work...

- Zelda will be playable for a certain section of the game.

OR

- After finishing the game once as Link, you can start a new game as Zelda.

Any other ideas and/or thoughts on this matter?

Probably be playable as a side mission. I can't imagine her being available to play as a large-scale character.

Hm... has anyone gotten the August issue of NP yet? I think there's an article about "Zelda concept art" in there; one might find some juicy gossip seeds within.

I don't recall if the July issue had anything...

There wasn't much, just the Link, Zelda and Stalfos pics already released. It did have some cool screenshots, but the author part just had the above stuff.

I have to say that that is an awesome sword.  It looks like it is Zelda's sword.  It matches her outfit.

We sure do! Just go to The Twilight Princess (or "next zelda") game guide here at TDC, click on Official Art on the sidebar, and then scroll down to near the bottom. Indeed, there is your Zelda.
