I don't think anyone did, and for that matter, I don't think that it's very advantageous for them to push it at this time. The anger toward SOPA and Congress in general still hasn't been quelled, or at least I wouldn't think so, especially with talk about ACTA up and about just a few weeks ago.

The entire ordeal in general has pretty much become memetic in nature. The citizens of the Internet may be a forgetful bunch regarding their own culture, but really, you can bet your bucket that, if it's something that threatens the integrity of the Internet as a medium as we know it, no one's going to forget about it any time soon.

Oh, they've got another thing coming if they think we're just going to sit idly by.

Is it just me, or does it seem like politicians want to halt progress and start going backwards?  Didn't one of the Rebulicans running in the primaries want to take women rights back to the 1950's?

It's stuff like that that makes me not want to pay attention to politics.

Which also explains why I didn't hear of that before, haha. ...'Course, I sincerely doubt anyone's going to win by alienating about 50% of the market share of votes.

Fact: very few politicians care about the people they're supposed to represent. They're given too much money by other interests to care. That's why things like SOPA happen.

I am a registered Republican, but I greatly dislike both of the candidates it looks like I'll been forced to choose between. My first election will be SO FUN.

That isn't apathy. Apathy is not caring.

I care. I just don't like my options. That's not gonna stop me from voting, but it won't feel good either way. I'm just gonna have to find out what will feel the LEAST bad.

No, a significant portion of that is definitely apathy. I'm not saying there aren't people who care (if that were the case, we'd be much worse off than we are now), but I'm pretty sure that this combined with the common feeling of one vote being insignificant really is the reason it's so high. I know that's the reason for me, so I guarantee I'm not the only one.

I think this is the first election where my family has hated both leading candidates. At this point, I'd rather Obama be re-elected for a second term.
