You tend to get a mental picture of people based on the personality they show on the web, and probably what avatar they use.  Little stuff like that.  I'd say about all of the time, unless you know the person in real life, you get the wrong mental picture.  But it's like what I said above:  the shock is like finding a gem in a lump of clay.  You don't expect it and you're shocked, but it's a good kind of shock.

Maybe I will.  I just need to find a good picture.  How about a picture of me holding a koala bear?  Or a picture of me with the Sydney Opera House behind me?  Or my 11th grade school picture (which I think is my best school picture)?
