One, stop reading that topic.  Two, spam (food product) isn't really that bad, but then again, it's been a long time since I had any.

We have referred to it as pointless points and as a food product.  We use the word spam for both.  Some words in the English language has more than one meaning.  Like foot.  It's a part of the human body, but we also use it as a unit of measurement (in the U.S., at least).
