Dude, nothing that bad is going to happen. There won't be another World War because it would be bad for the global economy. Even China is behaving because they are more interested in American greenbacks than blood.

And you certianly won't ever see a draft unless it is a really dire event, like WW2. Any politican who voted for a draft would never get re-elected again. It's political suicide. Heck, even the Army said they don't want a draft because it produces crappier soldiers than a volunteer force.

Not only that! But also I read an article that said that the American Army, at its current size and if at full strength and unengaged anywhere, could take on the top five armies of the world combined and still smash them to bits.

That's why I don't worry about a draft, because we don't need one.

Hell, we don't even need wars anymore, but this crazy head rogue states keep insisting on acquiring nuclear weapons and threatening to wipe other countries off the map.

So what if the "US can take on five countries" thing isn't true?  Like Jack said, it wouldn't happen.  The point is the US army is pretty darn good, so us Americans who aren't in the military don't have to worry about the draft.  By the way, a draft is when the military calls on civilians to join in drastic situations.

1. 2 million Americans have not died in Iraq. That number came from... where? It's like 2100+ have died, no more than 2500. And you're giving Iraqi insurgent combat activites far more credence than they deserve. There is a far bigger difference between an engagement done on equal terms (which is what my five armies statement referred to) and a guerilla war which the smaller force will ALWAYS excel at.

2. Your charts have no conceptualization of quality on them. American troops are the most thoroughly trained on the planet. Mreover, our equipment and supply systems are the most advanced in the world.

3. N Korea's army is an absolute joke. Despite being 1 million strong they are chronically starved and under-supplied, and are dependent on Chinese arms donations just to keep their own people in line.

4. Russia's army is slowly, much like the country itself, dying. The government doesn't have the money to keep the armed forces operational--hence discussions on cutitng back the size of the Baltic fleet and the 2 recent sub disasters.

5. I don't know what is implied with "the US polititions like you guys to think you safe......" However, unlike some countries, we don't need our politicians to do the thinking for us.

I don't know enough about American Tanks to argue the point, but I'm pretty sure that if we're not at the top, we must be pretty high up there. At the start of the war, our tank columns shot right through the Iraqi desert to Baghdad in days and managed to mantian the stringiest of supplylines the whole time.

I've never been in combat, but I think it's a fairly good guess to say that things can get awfully confusing during a live-fire situation.

And not only Americans have been shooting their allies. There's no way that's possible.
