Yes, their methods are sometimes the same, but that's like saying both sides of a war are the same. They're both fighting, but for completely different causes.

I believe that you are misinformed, friend.  A cracker is a misguided hacker.  Hackers do the same thing as crackers, but they do it for money or info, not lulz.  That doesn't make them any better than you or me.
