Now if you move Hyrule Castle north you get
the TP GC map



My previous theory was that if you flip the OoT map upside down and move Hyrule Castle to the North you get the TP Wii map



Now you said that wouldnt work because the sun travels in the same direction in OoT it does in TP. You are correct if you're speaking of the GC version, but in the Wii version, EVERYTHING is reversed, including the direction of the sun, and even the way Link holds his sword.

Now obviously in TP GC, that Lake Hylia is a new lake Hylia, as well as Kakariko, and a new Zora's Domain. Seeing as how the Old Zora's Domain was close to Old Kakariko, it is very understandable that the Zora graveyard was there before New Kakariko.

But anyway, hope that helps.

You don't need to do this faffing around as far as I can see. If you go by the gamecube version of the Twilight Princess map then everywhere seems to be in the right place.

Kokiri Forest and Lost Woods/Ordon and Faron to the south
Kakiriko and Death Mountain to the East
Lake Hylia and Gerudo Desert to the west

The only place that seems to have moved at all is Hyrule Castle, and here is my explanation.
Link warned Zelda and the king about Ganondorf, but Ganondorf still attacked. This time he wasn't victorious though because he didn't have the element of suprise. The castle was destroyed in the battle, but Ganondorf was eventually arrested.
