Yes, but we have no natural resources of our own, but China has many, and it controls much trade with the US. Losing its resources could be very bad for our economy, especially because a war between super powers is usually long.

I thoroughly believe the US can defend itslef against anybody. i mean look at WWII. The United Staes was the only country on the allies side. England was on the verge of defeat, and so was the Soviet Union. We had to defeat The Axis Powers, which was conquering the ENTIRE WORLD! But we won. i think that if we needed to, we could defend ourselves from the world (literally) again.

The USSR, the UK, and China were still free for natural reasons (oceans, storms, bad weather, mountains, etc.), Germany couldn't cross the seas with Britain's navy in the ocean, supply routes we extended, the Allies began to get the upper hand. The US joining was only the immediate reason the Allies won, like how Francis Ferdinand's assassination was the immediate cause of WWI, but the true causes were deep in Europe's history.
