Yeah I dont like the slingshot, its accuracy sucked. Also, if they put in a bow and a cross bow, one wouldnt have to replace the other, like how the bow made the slingshot useless. For example, the bow could have better accuracy, but the crossbow would be faster.
When I said this I was thinking about the scope thingy you can put on the bow.  8)
And also theres the fact that the Hero's Bow is superior to just some random bow.  ;D

Also I hope that they bring back the fire and ice arrows in the next zelda... those were awsome. 8)

The crossbow could have special attachments, like a cord attachment that eliminates the need for the hookshot, and possibly poisonous heads.

Hi no Seijin

Like the bow can't have poisonous arrows?

Forget the crossbow.  Give Link a scythe.  Scythe = cool.  And I have yet to come across a game where the protagonist gets to wield a scythe.
Best.  Cane.  EVER!
Secretary of Lolcats; I won the MagmarFire Award for 2/21/08!

I think it would be interesting if, during the final fight with Ganondorf or whomever the enemy may be, Link were to lose his sword and you were not told what to do about it-- and it ended up that you had to use a bottle/net.

DW

Heh. Run to the puddle and scoop up a fish...it would definitely be nice to see some creative ways of killing him.

Vaati

Or Square Enix, those are some good games, too.

I don't know where that came from, exactly, but I'm too lazy to look back.

A bottle? Are you kidding me? Yeah, sure.

Excerpt from Legend of Zelda (Working title)
"Link had lost his grip of his sword, and the dark lord, seeing this as an easy kill, dramatically took his time by slowly walking towards Link, intentionally giving him a moment to pray. As he trapped Link in the corner of the wall, he slowly raised his sword, laughing like a maniac. Suddenly, Link remembered something important. He remembered that he had a bottle of water!
Now was his chance. It was do or die. Link immediately reached for his bottle, pulled the cork out, then splashed the contents into his opponents face. The man's face began to give of steam, giving off a sickening sizzling sound. The Dark lord screamed in pain, and fell onto his back, squirming as if he was having a seizure. Then, a few seconds later, he stopped moving all together. It was finished. Link had won. He stood over his opponents corpse, rather confused that water had such a dangerous effect on an evil being. With all his pride with him once again, he raised his empty bottle in triumph."

Sounds a little cheesy, if you ask me.

Is. Is that legit? Because if it is I might cry. That was so utterly terrible. And corny, like you said. I want links. LINKS.

E3 2008: Miyamoto Says New Zelda for Wii Progressing
Zelda Wii team exploring big and unique ideas.
by Matt Casamassina
July 15, 2008 - No big surprise. At E3 2008, Nintendo confirmed (very vaguely) that the Mario and Zelda teams had reassembled, but offered no further details. But when we sat down with Shigeru Miyamoto this week, he elaborated on situation, absolutely confirmed that a new Wii Zelda is underway, and suggested that it will see some fundamental changes.

"The Zelda team in particular always works on Zelda titles. The core members of the Zelda team have for a very long time now been focused on Zelda games, and continue to focus on Zelda games, so they are hard at work and working away," Miyamoto said. "And then, of course, we have the DS Zelda team as well, so even there we're having some switching of people in and out where the DS team is mixing in with the Wii team and working on the Wii version."

At GDC 2007, Eiji Aonuma gave a presentation on The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. At that time, he showed a brief snippet of an experimentation the Zelda team conducted -- it was Twilight Princess running in the first-person view. We asked Miyamoto if such a fundamental change could await players of Wii's next Zelda adventure.

"I don't necessarily think it will change that drastically, but I think that Zelda is a franchise that does need some big new unique ideas," he said. "And so the team right now is very focused on trying to find those ideas."

It says that they have been working on a wii zelda at the same time as spirit tracks. Its not much but its someting right?  ;)

MagmarFire

Waaay old news, but still something, yes.

Advanceshipping and Rion had better be Chuck Norris approved.

Uximadesk

It makes you wonder what he considers "fresh".
It never hurts to wonder, but right I feel in complete drakness as to what the future of Zelda may hold.
