Yes. And if you go to Google images, search for Cloverfield Monster, and go to the third page. You will see a strange four legged creature pic. This is not it but it takes you to a blog that shows you the monster(s). Here is a link though.

Mucho info here. In the comments it gives a link that will tell you the entire plot and movie.

Edited! I said monster(s) because the creature has these parasite like bugs that also attack the city.

Coincidentally, I just got back from it. It was intense. That is to say it was awesome. But apparently a lot of people don't like it. It seems to be one of those love it or hate it movies.

It's not like your average monster movie at all. It's more like a disaster movie that happens to feature a monster attack as a backdrop. That is to say, it's about a group of people and what happens to them when a giant monster attacks NYC.

Also, it happens to be filmed as if it were from a handheld video camera. A lot of people apparently take umbrage with this, but I thought it made it all the more realistic.

DW

It definitely seems like a unique take, I thought it looked creative.

JDog

yea, looks pretty creative actually, but I'm not a really a huge fan of horror films such as that, so I think i'm going to have to miss this one.

It's not really a horror film at all. It's about a bunch of people running from a giant monster and its little parasite thingies. It's not really scary at all either, just intense. So freaking intense.

DW

Is it gory? Because my stepdad had mixed feelings about it, and he likes the gory stuff.

JDog

Oh, well from the preview's it looked like it would be something horror related. If thats not the case then, I'll probably wait till it comes out on DVD to see it.

Someone explodes. But that's really the only gory thing I can remember.

And, JDog, this is really the kind of movie you want to see in theaters if you can. I don't think the small screen would do it justice at all.

DW

Is it a guts-everywhere, nasty explosion?

Just blood as far as I could see. You didn't get a very good shot of it. The camera was only on it for like a second tops.

DW

Huh...The movie must not be very long...I mean, the length of an average movie, but since it's all continous on one camera, only a two hour time period could be portrayed in the movie, unlike other movies where they skip days and weeks and such.

3 friends and I went to go see it on opening day. It was incredible. It went where most movies don't. That is to say, that it gave it a new perspective.

Typical monster movie:

about 4-6 characters.
About half die off.
What happened, and how it happened is explained in thorough detail.

CloverField:

Many characters, about 6 main (including Hud, the camera man)
Gives the perspective of an average person trying to escape the wrath of God knows what, whilst staying together, and keeping your close ones alive.

What Cloverfield did, was make it seem real. They didn't explain what it was (Normally, nobody WOULD know what it was), not even the military knew, apparently.

If there is one question I wanted to ask after the movie was over, it would be: "What the hell kind of camera were they using?!" That camera went through hell and back, and was completely fine throughout the whole movie.

SPOILERS AHEAD: (highlight to read)

The movie did leave a question or two to be asked after word though. Like "Did they initiate "Hammer" and nuke the whole place?"
"In the end, you hear over the radio "Target not destroyed" which gives you the opportunity to ask "could there be a sequel?" Well, whatever, the ending kind of disappointed me, and pretty much everyone else who saw it, but the rest of the movie was incredible.

SPOILERS ENDED.

All in all, I give it a 4/5. Great movie, very imaginative, makes you think, and stirred up an emotion or two in me. I'd definitely recommend seeing it in theaters, because seeing on a small screen without surround sound would really in my opinion take away from a lot of the atmosphere that the movie worked so hard to create.

My real Poison team in BW2. They all have perfect natures and EV's. I went the extra distance and bred the right IV's into them. Come at me bro.
