How do I know those aren't ROMs?

Well, I know the FireRed video is a ROM.  But what about the Original Red version?

Trust me--it is legit. A friend of mine did the trick once, and I believe I got one of those Mews from him. Heck, there's even a Web page somewhere that tells you what goes on in your game as you go through the trick and why.

I remember discovering the Contra trick with my cousin by accident and then failing to replicate it.

You mean "Up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, Start?" It must have been pretty awesome to discover that one accidentally. Reminds me of when I discovered how to get to the Warp Zone on "Super Mario Bros." That was accidental, as well.

Wasn't there some supposed secret in Pokemon Red/Blue where you could use the space shuttle in the Pewter Museum of Science to fly to the moon and catch Mew?
