The droideka were awesome because of their unusual purpose, perks and deployment.   A super battle droideka would have to have spikes and increased acceleration so it could rocket itself around and destroy things while it was rolling, then once it deployed its shields would have to be nigh-impenetrable and would fire lightsabers and breathe fire and eat bear gryllis

THAT would just be cheating.  And besides, a lightsaber can't be successfully wielded by someone unless they have an attunement with the force.

Wrong! If you watched the CW series (I rarely do, I use it to know what to modify in my game), you would have noticed that a non-force user, a mandolorian named Pre Visla used a Black Lightsaber. And he used it pretty effectively too...until Obi-Wan used...the force!

This is incorrect, I do believe a lightsaber's beam is made from focusing light through an ilum crystal and a part that controls the beam's length.

Since technically the beam is just focused light, the blade would weight nothing, which is the real reason they're so hard to use.

And a "Strong" connection to the force isn't required, but an affinity for it is, which is why shadowtroopers had to be infused with it. (Though, Jedi Outcast isn't canon)

Certainly, but if you had the ability to shoot lightsabers from your fingertips I think you'd soon find the ability to simply wield one a little... beside the point.
