and eat bear gryllis
About to be eaten by a machine.  Better drink (you know the rest).

Pale Dim

For some reason, I found that absolutely hilarious.

The droideka were awesome because of their unusual purpose, perks and deployment.   A super battle droideka would have to have spikes and increased acceleration so it could rocket itself around and destroy things while it was rolling, then once it deployed its shields would have to be nigh-impenetrable and would fire lightsabers and breathe fire and eat bear gryllis
Just fire lightsabers?  It can't use them as well?

THAT would just be cheating.  And besides, a lightsaber can't be successfully wielded by someone unless they have an attunement with the force.

Wrong! If you watched the CW series (I rarely do, I use it to know what to modify in my game), you would have noticed that a non-force user, a mandolorian named Pre Visla used a Black Lightsaber. And he used it pretty effectively too...until Obi-Wan used...the force!

...What I'm saying is anyone can use a Lightsaber. However, since the blade itself is heavy enough, it takes a great amount of strength just to wield it.

Yeah, but, Mandalorians have a strong attunment to the force, which you would know if you had read the books like a TRUE nerd :P

Pale Dim

I never said I was a true nerd. It is just the fact that it bothered me when you said that the person had to have a strong connection to the force.

(Well, Havoc, this certainly is a fine mess you got yourself into)

...I will just back away for a little while and hide in the shadows until I can get over my defeat.

EDIT: But before I leave, just for the fun of it, I want you to take a look at this article.

Greivous isn't connected to the Force, from what I understand...

Droids, I believe, are the exception to the rule.

This is incorrect, I do believe a lightsaber's beam is made from focusing light through an ilum crystal and a part that controls the beam's length.

Since technically the beam is just focused light, the blade would weight nothing, which is the real reason they're so hard to use.

And a "Strong" connection to the force isn't required, but an affinity for it is, which is why shadowtroopers had to be infused with it. (Though, Jedi Outcast isn't canon)

That, and I'm pretty sure I remember Han using Luke's lightsaber on Hoth, even if only briefly.

Wait, wha?  Which is it, Tach?  And wouldn't Greivous be a cyborg, not a droid?

Greivous is a Cyborg, yes. And Tach, if only people who have a connection to the force can use them, then droids and Greivous would not be able to use them. Your statement...

...IS INCORRECT!!!!

Keaton

Well, Force sensitives are the only NON-MECHANICALLY-ENHANCED entities that can PROFICIENTLY wield a lightsaber.

Pale Dim

But if a droid can use a lightsaber, then certainly a Super Battle Droideka that can fire lightsabers can also use those lightsabers!

3308-7723-6389

Keaton

Certainly, but if you had the ability to shoot lightsabers from your fingertips I think you'd soon find the ability to simply wield one a little... beside the point.
