Certainly, but if you had the ability to shoot lightsabers from your fingertips I think you'd soon find the ability to simply wield one a little... beside the point.

Suppose you need to cut throught a door.  Would it not be easier and less wasteful to simply wield a lightsaber than to shoot about a hundred or more lightsabers to cut out a hole?
