So, did you know you could stun Dark Nuts with bombs in The Minish Cap?

That doesn't just stun them, does it? It damages them.

I present to you 009 earrapesystem

I don't know why, but I watched that for over a minute.

Well, yeah, it does damage them, but I was surprised that the bombs stunned them.  Discovering that really helped me with Dark Hyrule Castle, in that last room before the boss fight with Vaati.  I was challenging myself, only picking up the Heart Containers after the boss fights, so I only had eight hearts at the end of the game.  Since you need at least ten hearts to learn the Peril Beam, I couldn't learn it, which meant I couldn't learn the Great Spin Attack from Swiftblade the First, which is the attack I usually use on those last three Dark Nuts.  If you get the timing right, I'm sure you could use regular bombs, but the remote bombs would probably be better (man, I wish they would bring those back).

Remote bombs would be the best in a 3-D game, but that would remove a few of the challenges that make regular bombs such frustrating fun.

Yeah, that's the main tactic that I use against those guys. You're freaking timed, and you need an edge on their weak points, so use bombs!

Hi no Seijin

Okay, so last night, I'm playing the same file, going back and getting all the Pieces of Heart, and I went into the Temple of Droplets, unaware that it didn't have any Pieces of Heart in it.  While I was there, I learned that it's impossible to get into these two or three rooms somewhere on the second basement, I think, that are blocked off by, well, blocks that you need to split to push.  The blocks and walls are arranged in such a way that three or four Links cannot pass without the fake Links walking through an obstacle and disappearing before you get to the block.

I don't know.  There could be a portion of bombable wall that's too high for the blast and Link either needs to detonate the bomb just right or hold it up there.

That's what a bombchu is for.
What, you expect me to say something witty?

You know that ringing sound that you will perceive when you are in a very quiet area? Some people say this is an auditory-illusion brought about by the ear's inability to detect frequencies below the threshold of the human senses. This is completely wrong. That ringing covers up something else altogether. If you are patient and maybe a little lucky, you will be able to hear past the ringing. What you will hear are voices whispering to each other. They will silence themselves quickly but with practice, you will become more adept at catching and interpreting what they are saying. You will hear things of the past, the present, and the future. However, you must be careful. Because there is no such thing as a voice without a body.

And when you start noticing them, they will start noticing you.

Actually, if it's a persisting problem, it's called tinnitus and is caused by various things.  When it happens suddenly but is not a constant problem, it's the hairs in your ears dying-- each one picks up a specific frequency, so when you have that ringing in your ears, it's the last time you'll ever hear that particular frequency again.  Nice copypasta, though.

Mysterious F.

You lose the ability to hear certain sound frequencies as you get older, namely higher-pitched sounds. I think.

And aren't hairs technically already dead?

If it grows, how can hair be dead?

The part that is above the skin is dead.  The root is alive.

Mysterious F.

Pretty much anything above a certain layer of the skin is dead, including the other skin cells above it. There are some exceptions, but for the most part, you are technically dead on the outside.

Darth Wyndisis

I believe stratum corneum is the technical term for the outer-most layer of skin.
