Dude, you just proved yourself wrong. ;D  Ruto thought she was a man because she was disguised as one.

Whenever I first played OoT I thought that sheik was Zelda in disguise. Don't ask why because I myself have no idea.

Going back to Sheik, it doesn't matter if it's he or she.  It was only a disguise, so gender doesn't matter. ;D
