Just as Rose is beginning to feel the effects of her numerous wounds, the battle is beginning to wear on the wolf as well. After its last attack, the creature stumbles forward several steps, taking a few precious seconds to try and catch its breath. Those few seconds are all that Rose requires to deal the final blow (13+5[Roll+AGI]), and the creature falls to the ground, as lifeless a pelt as its partner.

She began to walk away after sheathing her sword and knife, heading southwest to Lon Lon Ranch to rest there in safety, as well to treat her wounds, but she heard a fluttering of wings. The cucco landed in front of her, making Rose jump. In the heat of battle, she had forgotten about the fowl. "You're the reason I'm hurt," she grumbled, but she bent down to pick up the bird. "Come on, you. If that bloody fool in Ruto can't take care of you, then I'm taking you to Lon Lon Ranch with me." The ranger continued on her way.
