OOC: GOT TO USE THE EPIC POEM BEFORE I FAIL AT INSIGHT!

Rosen's eyes draped over the warriors that battle the last meager worm that danced wildly in front of them as well as the tapered eyes that traveled over the room's walls and and ominous decorations as allies began, perhaps a little prematurely, searching the room for any clue of further entrances. In fact, the dichotomy of weapon against flesh against the backdrop of detectives quietly traversing the solemn room for insight was a little awkward to say the least.

But in any case, the latter group beckoned him with the luxury of some rest from the incessant dashing and diving; thrusting and parrying that came with battling the rows of ganon's army-despite how frivolous and romanticized it might seem from narratives.

And so Rosen followed in the wake of Alpha and company, eyes trailing behind his and occasionally leaving to explore another wall or deserted shadow that might curtain secrets and insight of importance...hopefully. Because for all the searching and unsheathing of swords that littered the events of today, the goron was never the more excited to just get on and move forward.

"Uuuuughhh..."

Although the battle appears to be won, the time for celebration is not at hand. Although dearly expected to be the victory blow on the Madderpiller, Taint's great blade strikes the earth as the insect scampers away from him. It returns a second later to show the Zora that it doesn't appreciate being swung at by lofty weapons such as his, but is largely unsuccessful in this endeavor.

Kagari once again proves his excellent precision with a well-aimed projectile from his bow. The barbed shaft hits the monster square in the forehead and protrudes there. The Madderpiller has no hands with which to remove the arrow, and so the projectile remains. Quickly it dashes at the archer, but its charge is ultimately nullified by Kagari's well-buffed defense. (Madderpiller 2 -12 HP)

Of course, the Madderpiller is not through yet. It is about to become much more of a pest, focusing now on the first of the adventurers to underestimate its chances of survival. It crawls aggressively towards Saber, who is lost in his search of the room. It smashes its body weight into the mercenary... but fails to do any sort of damage. With a nasty noise it tries to escape from its failed attack. It nearly meets Abel's blade on its way, but is fortunately able to resist the man's attack.

As it crawls in a frenzy about the room looking for vulnerables, it is met only by the colossal, strengthened fists of a Goron who smashes things far better than hides from things. The bug is squashed flat with a gutty squashing sort of sound. As the Goron's fists return to a less offensive position, the Madderpiller is momentarily flat as a pancake before it bursts and is replaced by a shiny blue Rupee. (Madderpiller 2 Defeated; Eberron +5 Rupees)

With the battle concluded, it is much easier and far less distracting for the others to conduct their searches. Saber's nomadic instinct helps him to notice the locked door on the north wall, however no chest or key can be seen anywhere in this room. It seems that the alerted Bulblin left the south door wide open - not that it had been locked to begin with. Alpha notices these things as well, but still no solution to the locked door can be seen. Aria, too, finds something of interest in the wreckage of the stone statue her naginata had made rubble out of. Pushing one of the larger fragments of the enemy aside, she uncovers a few more Rupees that would have gone uncollected beforehand. (Aria +10 Rupees)

Clearly, the cataracts that curse Rosen's eyes are making it difficult for him to notice anything particularly interesting in this room. The elderly Goron fails to see anything worth mentioning apart from the door leading further into the lair.

That battle went better than he expected. The Madderpillers had been defeated before Darilan had the chance to strike at them with his staff. It turned out that Rosen's idea wasn't so bad after all, but he wasn't willing to admit it to the Goron. It was all thanks to the leadership of Alpha, Aria, and Simon, as well as the well timed magical attack by a certain mage.

He turned his attention to the room. There was still a locked door, and no one seemed to have turned up a key. They were looking in the wrong places, he thought. It wouldn't make sense for the monsters, even with their lack of intelligence, to put a key in an unlocked treasure chest in the middle of the room. The first place he figured the key might have been hiding was on one of the Bulblin's bodies, so that is where he searched [Awareness Check].

Kagari proved that he was becoming a master marksman. He put his bow onto his back and then looked around the foes bodies for rupees like the other's did and also for something else that might be useful. [Awarness check]

As he looked around he saw that with this group of adventurers that it will be easier with fighting foes. He was hoping at the end of the adventure they were on they can change them from mere adventurers to friends. "Good job everyone." Kagari said trying to raise the moral of the people.

OOC: Now the battle is over. So I'll post my Hp more. Sorry that I didn't before.

Eberron smiled happily as he haphazardly chucked the 5 rupees into his bag, pleased at his bug squishing ability. Wandering around aimlessly, he whistled to himself as he shuffled his feet across the floor. He really wasn't sure about what to do now. But he might as well try and help out look around for something to help get past the locked door. Falling onto the floor with a soft thud, Eberron's eyes searched the ground carefully as he crawled around like a bizarre dog, smiling as he scarpered around the room.

OOC: I finished writing a huge post, and then it goes bye bye...so this will have to do. On another note, school started on Monday for me...so that is why I haven't been posting as frequently.

Striding over to the pile of dust and rock left by the Armos, Ryou crouched downwards, sifting through the dust and overturning stone in an attempt to find the key. It could have been in this thing... With effort, he shut out the outside world and concentrated upon the small pile. [Awareness Check]

Alpha shook his head in disappointment; there didn't seem to be any apparent method to opening the door or locating a key in this chamber. "Well, I don't see any way to go down that path," he commented, more to himself than the others, "so why don't we head down that route?" He motioned slightly to the second door, the one that most of the adventurers appeared to have forgotten about in the midst of the battle.

One of the Bokoblins had come out from this doorway, though, which meant that there were probably more fights waiting on the other side. With this in mind, he decided to attempt cloaking himself in the shadows that his race commands [Innate Check - Shadowmeld]. Then he slowly opened the portal and slipped through, studying what lay beyond as quickly and efficiently as he possibly could.

Aria picked up the ten rupees. As there were so little of it and too many of them, the ranger thought it best she kept it all to herself. At least for now; it would buy a night's stay or two at a cheap inn somewhere. Or perhaps she'd toss it into the fountain the next time she was in North Castle. She smiled at the memory of meeting Adelaide that came with the thought of donating her somewhat easily earned rupees.

Returning her attention to the others, she caught Alpha suggesting to go through the unlocked door. It sounded much better than wasting any more time here looking for a way through the locked door when there didn't seem to be any. So the Gerudo strode over to the door and slowly stepped through, her spear held in a defensive position; she wasn't a complete fool, and she kept her ears and eyes opened for any suspicious sign of something else coming to fight the intruders. That age-old conundrum again. A locked door; but where's the key?

Brushing his thick brown hair aside and stretching, Saber tuned out the sounds of battle behind him.

"I don't think we're going to--Guffaw!"

Knocked off balance, the mercenary stumbled forth. It felt as though someone had just given him a very rough shove, and he was not too pleased with the fact. Spinning just in time to see the Madderpiller crushed by Eberron, he glared daggers at the general room.

There. That Darilan guy. Yeah, he looked like the shovey type. Glaring frostily at the Scribe for several seconds, the youth spun on his heel once again, returning to his search of the room. It seemed his discoveries were no longer new and exciting. Oh well, time to move on. Through the tunnel to the next room they went, Alpha turning invisible. Just as everyone else, the nomad expected a fight, but unlike everyone else, he had a way of gathering intelligence. Eyes glued to the floor betwen his feet, he bent over in British detective fashion, inspecting the ground for the footsteps of whatever may have used this passage recently. [Track L...2?]

Taint had to wonder if he should keep trying. With a disgruntled sigh, he sheathed his weapons, and slowly made his way back to the group. Lilly had to feel sorry for the poor Zora. She flew down to his level, and attempted to comfort him as he made his way to the next room. Where else would they go anyway?

He didn't feel like battling anymore. He didn't feel like being here anymore. But he'd made a commitment to the group's cause. He just wanted this to be over so he could go back to the moat and practice some more. Even so, practice seemed to make this Zora even worse. He sighed, and took a look at what the next room held.

OOC: Why is it that every time I RP with Taint, I suck really bad? XD
It's just his character. Why do the rolls have to agree with his character? I don't like the dice...

OOC: I hate hate hate the fact that i have about no computer time nowadays. because i sooo would have been here. but i wasn't, and i don't have enough time to go read ALL NINE PAGES right now, so i'll just go with what i know: we are exploring the caves. you guys just fought a battle and there is a locked door in front of us. Anything important i'm missing?

IC: Leth hurried through the caves, listening intently to the growing sounds of battle an using them as a guide to the current whearabouts of the adventurers. I'm late... again... He thought to himself as he ran down the dark halls. I gotta learn to be on time... He was getting closer now, the sounds of battle were very loud. He continued on and he knew he was practically there... then the battle ended just as he entered the room. Rats. Too late. He thought to himself as he surveyed the area around him. They were in a room with two doors; an open one and one that appeared to be locked. It also appeared that no one was able to find the key... so the only logical choice to Leth was to go down the open path. But having just arrived, he decided to keep his mouth shut for a little while longer and observe what everyone else was doing.

Foiled again by the veils that played like curtains over his eyes. No matter, it seemed as if there was a pleasantly open door with which Rosen grinned slyly as he slid his weight between the narrow maw of tapered walls and cluttered allies as he and others moved forwards, hopefully to the last room in this dreadfully banal labyrinth. Was it beyond the realm of ganon's range to throw upon the dust and corroded earth a rug or a few portraits of the scapes that decorated the outside world. Perhaps a hillside even.

All of this made Rosen even more irritated as the disappointment of his age, coupled with the incessant battles that littered this terrain married itself with the claustrophobia that had followed far too closely in his wake. Eyes tapered, with what could only assume to be out of frustration as illustrated in the connecting lines that carved out his brow.

Darilan's searching of the fallen Bulblins is not rewarding. Apart from a few charred scraps of what had once been putrid soldiers of evil, there is really nothing for him to look for. Broken remains of two clubs are the only recognizable objects that can be associated with the Bulblins. Rosen's bomb had gone off with a glorious bang and had left no traces of its targets.

Kagari is equally unable to find anything, keys and Rupees alike, on the floor of this room. The only discernible enemy remains are those of the Armos statue. The floor itself is relatively tidy - a few bones make up the only mess left by Ganon's hordelings. Eberron is unable to find anything even in his dog-like search. Ryou is also unable to find anything of interest in the Armos rubble, having gotten there just after Aria's search has proven useful.

Valen's notices that nothing is being found. Eager to continue further into the depths of this place, he is quick to follow Alpha to the open door. "We can worry about that door later," he says, gesturing back to the locked door on the north wall. "Let's see what's waiting for us further in."

Alpha slips under the veil of shadow, just in time to avoid being spotted. In the room he now stands in there is a long table along the east wall. Broken plates and scraps of rotting flesh litter this table. Several broken and chipped glasses are scattered about the table, and several of the chairs are overturned and broken as well.

A large pit with protective bars plunges through the center of the room. The sound of feeding can be heard from the pit. It is clearly inhabited, but the contents can not be seen from where the adventurers at the door are standing.

A cauldron stands in the corner of the room, smoke drifting up from inside. Something hot is bubbling from the cauldron, and it smells absolutely terrible. Consider, if you will, pounds of bad carrion meat mixed with flavorless potatoes and a variety of roots, tubers, and weeds, most of which are not meant for consumption. Boil these together in a vat of decidedly unclean water, and that is what you smelling. Valens makes a sickly noise as he peers into the room.

Alpha's Shadowmeld makes it easy for him to go unseen, and this is quite fortunate for anyone present. Six pathetic creatures inhabit this room. Four of them - a pair of Bulblins and a pair of Bokoblins - are lined up at the cauldron with chipped bowls, snarling at one another and pushing for a closer spot in line. Another Bokoblin is sitting on one of the acceptable chairs at the table, and another Bulblin is leaning up against the wall, seemingly asleep.

Saber is able to get a decent idea of the types of enemies that infest this small underground lair. The tracks of Bokoblins, Garo, and Bulblins are the only notable markings on the floor. The tracks appear fresh - this place is at least somewhat busy with these minions. As Alpha has already discovered, there is a good number of leftover goblins in the vicinity.

Aria is unable to catch sight of the Bulblins and Bokoblins until they have already spotted her. One of the Bokoblins standing in line turns back and sees the Gerudo, spear at the ready. Now that it is alerted to their presence, it quickly notices a young Zora and an elderly Goron following the unfortunate desert woman. A certain shadow-veiled Sheikah, however, it does not see. Three adventurers is enough for this Bokoblin, however, and it quickly screeches out to its companions and points them out. In an instant, the putrid stew is forgotten and you are thrust once more into battle.

Alpha slowly creaked the door open before he walked inside, immediately glad that his Shadowmeld had successfully hidden him from sight within its dark veil. Six monsters awaited him beyond the doorway, each one distracted and looking like they would be fairly easy prey. The Sheikah sighs; a Thief like Arrika would be perfect in this instance. She could probably sneak through here unseen and take out at least a few of the beasts with her Garrote; he, on the other hand, can only hope that any attack he makes will be effective enough to bring most of them close to death.

'Right . . .' the Sheikah thinks to himself as he slides off to the side, going deeper into the shadows and away from the door; its unexpected opening may yet draw someone's attention and lead them to investigate, and his Shadowmeld won't protect him if a beast runs into him or hears him dodging about. In this new location, though, he can begin work on a strategy. 'I could use an Elemental Explosion to severely weaken them . . . then once they see me, run back into the other room, where they'll be disoriented, off guard, and surrounded, and therefore easy pickings for the others.' He nods to himself slightly, then leans over to whisper his plan through the still cracked door . . .

Only to see a multitude of them already pouring through the portal. Great; now they're the ones caught off guard and surrounded!

For a second Alpha considers simply staying encased in the darkness, letting the fools pay for their reckless charging into the room - one which a Bulblin had already appeared from; that should have been plenty of warning that something else might be waiting inside. But no, he might require their help later; better for now to make them owe him.

His plan is ruined, but not entirely - the first portion of it is still possible. Leaping up from the darkness, he runs over to the opposite side of the room, trying to be as careful and quiet as he can . . . though he doesn't worry about silence too much, as the creatures' cries are already blotting out most of the noise he might make. Once there, he waits until every one of the monsters is focused on the opposite side of the chamber, where Aria and the others now stand, and then immediately throws his hands out, unleashing the magic he's been building up for the past few seconds even as his shadowy cloak falls apart and reveals his presence. [Elemental Explosion L1]

'Yeah, they're gonna owe me for making me use my magic so abruptly . . . it's not like it's easy to cast something this powerful in a span of seconds . . .'

Well, it was that time again. Lilly knew the drill, and she rose up into the air to observe the fight from a fairy's-eye view. Taint didn't waste any time. Without a second to lose, he unsheathed his weapon and charged into battle. Reckless? Yes. Stupid? Yes. But it was the only way he really knew how to begin a fight. Before he knew it, he was in the midst of combat, not focusing on anything else but the monsters in front of him. Had he noticed the archer, he might have done everyone a favor and extinguished him.

However, he could only ignore the Bokoblin in front of him for so long. With a mighty swing, in a baseball motion, he brought his sword up in a diagonal arc. Sure, there'd be no way to block a counter attack, should he miss, and yes, he would be wide open. But he figured he'd cross that road when he went down it. As for the here and now, this swing would have so much power in it, that if the Bokoblin attempted to block with its own weapon, it would surely be flung from its hands.
