Yukie'd turned away from the window and was movin' towards bed when a small sound caught his ear. He glanced back at the moonlit night, seein' somebody out there. With a hop he was back at the windowsill, openin' it up 'n archi' an eyebrow at the unexpected visiter. "Little thief," he greeted, motionin' fer her to come on inside.
"Don't know whacha think yer doin' climbin' all over the walls, but ya probably oughta git off to bed." He followed his own advice, 'n before she even replied he'd pulled a blanket over 'imself and lain back 'gainst the pillows. "We got another day o' sailing ahead of us. Git some shuteye while ya can."

"Aw, you're no fun," Arrika said with a heavily exaggerated pout, forcing herself to pretend she wasn't at all irked at being called "little". She sauntered over and perched on the footboard, watching the Deku with glittering crimson eyes. "So... how do you know Alpha?"
She had a whole host of questions lined up now that she was here. Her interrogation time might be limited, though, if...
"...you're not sharing a room with him, are you?" she asked suddenly.

"...you're not sharing a room with him, are you?"
Yukie somehow managed to grimace while his eyes were still closed -- no mean feat, lemme tell ya. 'Specially given how he was already probably about half asleep; 'course, the fact that Arrika didn't seem int'rested in leavin' just yet weren't helpin' his mood either. "Wouldn't know," he muttered in reply. "Cap'n got us the rooms; if we're together, it's cause o' him." A chuckle. "But if that be the case, well, hope the Sheikah enjoys that there carpet! Haha . . ."
A thought suddenly struck him, and he rolled over on his side, turnin' away from Arrika so she couldn't see the smirk on his lips. "Course, that wouldn't be very comfortable at all fer him, now would it? Nah, I couldn't do that to the boy . . . tell ya what. It turns out that he 'n I are s'posed to be sharin' this here room, I'll send him to yer room instead. Sound good?"
He just hoped she'd hurry up 'n leave so he could get 'imself some shut-eye . . .

Arrika regarded him suspiciously; was the leafy thief being sarcastic?
Either way, it was almost enough to make up for making her lose the damned Jar.
"Sounds wonderful," she said sweetly, hoisting herself back out the window.
As she finally settled back into her own bed, she realized he'd avoided answering her question on exactly how he knew Alpha...
Her hand, more specifically her ring finger, was pulsing and heated from where Kobas' ring had embedded itself. It ached, but in an oddly comforting way, and the steady beat soon lulled her to sleep.

Alpha trudged up the stairs, mind still heavy with its thoughts. He'd almost spent thirty minutes after his meeting with Sakiko, just sitting down in the shadows of the lobby. Even though he'd already gotten his key, he felt like watching the oncoming storm as it approached for a bit longer. When the thunder was flashing nearly overhead, though, he finally had to admit it -- it was time to head up and get some sleep.
He slowly walked to the room inscribed on the key, and used it to open the door. With a sigh, he opened it and walked inside --
*Snore*
'Yukie?'
The Deku was in his bed, already fast asleep it sounded like. He arched an eyebrow. Was this how Taint had managed to get rooms for all of them? Forcing some to share? He and Yukie had probably been chosen as roommates because they had admitted to already being friends before the voyage had started -- surely the Zora hadn't known that pretty much the entire crew was already acquainted with one another -- but still, that seemed a bit cheap. The Captain had at least implied they'd all get their own rooms . . .
He shrugged and exited as silently as possible, never waking the Deku once. Stretching out with his senses, he scanned all of the other rooms, found one that was vacant, and walked to its door. The Void made passage inside easy, and he soon nodded off to sleep in that room's bed . . .
OOC: Couldn't help myself XD;

After Dogura had the information that the boy was an orphan, he immediately understood the situation. The kid wasn't trying to make some spare change on the side, he was trying to make enough money to get some shelter for the night. Taint seemed to get the gist of it too. The two looked at each other and nodded in affirmation. "Alright, you're with us!" Taint jogged towards the doors and poked his head inside. "Hey, he's with me! I'll pay for an extra room in the morning!" The lady smiled. "You've brought so much business with you! This room is on the house!" Taint smiled at her and nodded. "Thank you! Is there a room left on the same floor as everyone else?" She opened a folder, and went through some papers. "Yep! There are two left!" She reached inside a drawer, and placed a key on the desk. It had a flat wooden block on it with a number burned into it: 27.
Taint nodded to the boy and rushed outside to speak with Dogura a moment. "You'd better head back to the ship! That crash is sure to wake more people up than we want hating us." Dogura couldn't agree more. He dropped into one of night's many shadows, and disappeared back to the boat. Taint walked back to the inn and up the stairs to his room. He was hoping for another talk with his captain tonight. He opened his room, and closed the door behind him. Silence. It was quite beautiful. Taint kicked his shoes off, and entered the room with the bath tub in it. He hadn't bathed in days, and he smelled quite ripe. He ran the water, removed his pants and undergarments, and soaked in the tub. It felt good to relax. He closed his eyes and smiled. Someday, when he was running from monsters, fighting zombies, or even falling to a powerful spell, he'd wish he was back here, in this very moment. Bathing in the water as well as the quiet. He slipped under water and listened to the sounds of the water. After about 40 minutes of bathing, he got out of the tub and washed his pants. They'd be dry by morning, and clean too.
He washed out his mouth and lurched towards the bed. He dropped on it, and rolled over staring lazily at the ceiling. He pulled the covers over him, and let himself drift away into his mind's world. Ironically, this world was filled with strawberries, and cake. It was the annual take the cake festival, and blah blah blah...

5:30AM. Everbreeze Isle
Dogura's eyes shot open. All was quiet. But he'd heard something, he was sure of it. He sat up from the mat he'd made for himself on the floor and listened carefully. Silence. He leaned back on an elbow and closed his eyes for a moment. Maybe he was just being hyper-sensitive. That was his job though, and it meant he was doing it well. He laid back down and stared at the ceiling for several seconds before a voice piped up from across the room. "No, samurai. I heard it too. Someone's outside." Dogura sat up and grabbed his sword off of the table. He quickly put his armor on and jumped into a shadow. It was the stealthiest approach to whoever was boarding the ship. He melded through each room before finally melding out of the crow's nest. It had rained hard during the night, and the smell of soft rains still hung in the air. His eye scanned the area, and stopped on a short slender man boarding the ship. It was still dark, but sunlight was peeking over the horizon. Enough light to see that the man was constantly checking his back.
The man was dressed in a red leather jacker with black leather pants that led down to his black leather boots. The man was a fan of leather- that much was evident. His hair was red and slicked back. He knelt down and began to pour a liquid substance on deck. Dogura knew what was happening by now. He landed on deck in front of the man, who staggered back a bit in shock. "Get off this boat now, before I halve you." The man took a few steps back and shot his hand forth. Fire flew from his finger tips, and Dogura barely avoided them. He shot back with his own flame, that was also avoided. "That was weak, old man." He scoffed as he took a few steps back. "I'll be back real fast, and if you're still here when I get back, you'll be sorry." He ran off, and Dogura decided to let him. He looked down at the liquid and knelt down next to it. Gasoline... I'd better go get my armor. He was holding back it was plain to see... Then there's the dual knives he was hiding... There's more to him than first meets the eye.
He hurried inside and busted into the prisoner's cabin. Morgoth jumped to attention and gripped the bars of his cell. "What happened?" Dogura quickly pulled his armor over his head, and pulled the straps tight. "Some guy outside just tried to set the boat on fire. He said he'd be back, which probably meant he's bringing friends." The necromancer threw his covers off the bed, and grabbed his staff. "Let me come with you then. I can't call the dead out of the deck of the boat, but I can summon apparitions." Dogura shook his head. "No way." He wasn't keen on the idea of Morgoth turning on him mid combat in hopes of escaping. That's be a big mistake. The idea that the man was a friend coming to save the necromancer was ruled out when he tried to burn the whole ship down- but that didn't exclude the possibility that Morgoth saw this as an opportunity to escape. "Don't be a fool, Dogura. Just because you might be able to take them all on alone doesn't mean you should!" Dogura stopped for a split second. He seems trust worthy... Odd as he is, I don't sense any trace of deception in him. No waver in his voice, and no doubt in his mind...
After a few more seconds, he caved. "Fine, follow me." He grabbed the keys off the table and tossed them to the man, who quickly unlocked the cage and followed after him. They hurried out onto the deck, which still seemed clear for the moment. "I'll be most effective on land. Let's meet them there; we'll be less likely to harm the ship that way too." Dogura couldn't disagree, the man's reasoning was sound. They hurried down the ramp and onto the land and stopped as not two or three, but several figures stood in their way. Morgoth stared at them with violent eyes. "I was right to come with you... At least a few of them are pretty powerful. I'm sensing some serious auras here." Dogura put his hand on his sword and gritted his teeth. "You've got to be kidding me... They're actually formidable?" Morgoth nodded. "Don't underestimate them. It'll be the last mistake you make." The man from earlier stepped forward sneering. "Your old man is wise. That your grandpa?" A few of them laughed at Morgoth's expense. The samurai was calculating many outcomes here, deciding the best course of action.
Morgoth... We've got to wake the others.
Morgoth smiled a toothy grin. "I'm way ahead of you, samurai." Dogura was a bit shocked by this. He hadn't felt the slightest use of magic. Had Morgoth summoned a phantom to wake the others that fast and easily? The group that stood before them was a funny looking group. First there was the one from earlier. He seemed quite cocky. However another one in the back, a tall man cloaked in black stepped forward. He wore an eye-patch much like Dogura did. His black hair hung partially in his face and he lifted his left arm in Dogura's direction. Dogura lowered his stance suddenly, and awaited a spell. However, the man slowly swung his arm around and directly towards the left, towards the inn. Morgoth's eyes followed his arm, and his eyes widened. "He couldn't..." A blue blade of energy shot from his hand, and a low shriek rang through the air. Dogura watched as an apparition manifested, reamed by the magical blue blade. The man looked at Dogura dead in the eye. "We won't let you wake 'The Others'." He stated in a deep tone. Dogura's eyes widened. Did he... Read my mind?
"I did." He confirmed. Dogura was a bit un-easy from all of this. They weren't ordinary. Of course, neither are we... He thought, his hand still resting on the hilt of his sword. He watched carefully, and turned to Morgoth. "Morgoth. A spell. A strong one." The man understood immediately, and raised an arm into the air. He fired a powerful elemental burst directly into the air. Waves of magical air washed over them all, and they watched in awe as it ascended upward. That ought to of woken Alpha and Sakiko... Anyone else who's fine tuned to magic. Dogura thought cautiously, setting up a mental barrier to keep the tall cloaked one out of his head. Morgoth analyzed the opposing forces carefully. "Who are you. What do you want?" He asked not taking his eyes off them. There were nine of them in all, two of them magical.
The talkative one moved out of the way as a husky looking man stepped forward. He was dressed like a traditional pirate, and had a long black beard that ran down to his belly. "We're here... To get our boat back." Now Dogura understood fully. The pirates they'd hijacked the ship from had caught up with them. He thought back on Taint's thoughts from earlier- he'd been reading them in the beginning.
It's a miracle none of us died. They're all special in their own ways...
Morgoth didn't understand at all, but he didn't ask questions. The pirate began to speak again. "And we're here to take our little friend Crowjack for a ride." Dogura cocked his head. "We don't know anyone by that name." The pirate shook his head. "I'm sure he's going by something else. The Zora. The fish. We want him, and we want him now." His voice was harsh. He was mad, like the rest of them. Suddenly the man in the back spoke up again. "That spell earlier was to alert the others. They're buying time. We should eliminate them now." Dogura gritted his teeth. They'd been found out- course it was a clear idea that they were trying to wake the crew, he didn't need to know that they were buying time. Am I always that annoying? "Oh, is that what they're doing?" The big man asked interested. Dogura now took the time to assess all of them.
The big one. He seemed like the captain. Wore the whole captain attire, complete with the hat, sans the parrot. Nothing too interesting about him. He carried a cutlass, and that seemed to be all there was to him.
The slender guy in leather seemed to be a pretty experienced fire mage. Seems he was able to dual wield his concealed daggers too. He wouldn't be too big of a problem.
There was a girl next to him, about the same size. She had orange hair that ran down her shoulders. She had a fair face, but stern. It was accompanied by piercing green eyes and pursed lips. She also carried a knife, which seemed to be imbued with some sort of magic.
The tall one in the back. He was the most fearsome of them all at this point. He had read Dogura's mind, and used some sort of magical beam to dispel a phantom that nobody could see. He was skilled, and he was kicking off a mighty aura too.
There was another small guy, who hadn't said a word or made a move. His eyes carried murderous intent though, and he wore a belt full of knives. His brown hair was cut short, and his ears were adorned with several piercings. His clothing was less flashy than the rest.
Next to him was a breath of fresh air. An average looking man with a sword. He had a long face, which carried a confused expression. He raised a bottle of whiskey to his lips and tilted it back. That explained it. He carried two sheathed swords, and that seemed to be it.
This one was massive. He was a large angry looking fella. He was bald, and covered in tattoos. He carried a large hammer in his massive fists. This would be the easiest opponent for Dogura to face. His strategy was quite apparent.
Then, right next to him, as if to make him look taller, a Deku stood at his side. A blade larger than life rested on his shoulder. There was no way in din he'd be able to swing it. Dogura studied him for several seconds before moving on to the last one.
He was blindfolded. Blindfolded, as in he couldn't see. His mouth was sewn shut on the right corner, and his skin looked brown and dirty. He carried nothing, which insinuated he was a magic user.
The small one in leather stepped forward. "Let's kill em' already." He sounded annoyed. "I told you not to stick around cyclops." An obvious comment to Dogura. Suddenly the earth glowed a radiant black, and black flames shot up from the ground. They weren't hot, but they caused everyone a bit of alarm. Everyone but the source- Morgoth Fleshrender. Three Stalfos crawled up from the earth, each carrying both a sword and shield. They were prepared to obey their master.

It was nice to sleep.
It was not nice to awaken from such sleep.
It was really not nice to awaken from such sleep because of a magic pulsation's screams ramming into him.
As it was, Alpha felt as though he had been picked up and hurled across the room, and his eyes flashed open to make sure that had not, in fact, happened. When his crimson gaze confirmed the reports of his sense of touch -- that he still laid in bed -- he bolted upright and, to that same sense's extreme disappointment, leapt from the covers. Wobbling slightly at first (he was still waking up; it happens), he rushed to the window just in time to catch the last signs of the magical explosion ripping through the atmosphere.
The blast came from the direction of the docks, and its aura had a distinct energy that reeked of necromancy . . . 'Morgoth?!'
Had their crewmate-by-compulsion finally seized a moment to escape from Dogura? That was the only thing that made any sense, but something about it seemed off -- the necromancer wouldn't waste so much magical energy on an attack headed straight skyward; he must have known it would attract someone's attention. Why bother with a blast that massive if he was trying to escape . . .
Whatever the case, Alpha wasn't about to sit there and wait for the trouble to come to him. He turned back towards the door -- they'd all be needed to take on Morgoth once again, so he'd best wake everyone up --
"WAKE UP!!!"
The familiar voice of a Deku screamed down the hall with an intensity even stronger than Morgoth's blast had been. "EVERYBODY, GIT YER BUTTS OUTTA BED! WE GOT US SOME TROUBLE AT THE SHIP!" Alpha smirked and quickly opened his doorway. Yukie was looking his direction, and the Sheikah nodded before disappearing back inside. The Deku would understand his meaning: I'm going ahead.
A flash of violet called forth the Void to his cause once more, and moments later he emerged from that otherworldly place in the inner stairwell of their ship. It was the room he had stayed in the first night of the voyage, where leftovers of his essence remained strong and might help to mask his sudden arrival. It also held a porthole, affording him a quick glance outside the hull.
Dogura and Morgoth stood side-by-side -- there went that theory -- against a group of eight or nine beings. Who they were, he didn't know, but they sure didn't look friendly, and judging by how Morgoth and Dogura had called for backup with that magic blast, it meant they didn't think they could take this group alone. For Dogura to be wanting assistance . . . that was not a thought that warmed his soul.
Then three Stalfos erupted from the earth, no doubt summoned by the necromancer, and Alpha knew that he'd seen enough. Not even bothering to leave the room, he sent his magical aura surging outward, calling the elements to their aid. Taking very specific care to not include Morgoth's beasts in his mental list of targets, he sent all the energy he could muster screaming towards the nine pirates.

The first one o' them to respond was Alpha -- no doubt the man 'd already been wide awake by the time he'd started screamin'. Nonetheless, the Deku weren't ready ta head back ta the ship until he had a good portion o' the crew followin' afta him. "I SAID WAKE UP!" he bellowed once more, starting to slam his fists against every door he passed.
It would only be later when he'd look back 'n realize he had no idea which o' them rooms held the crew . . . and which held regular ole guests . . . Not that he'd of cared anyway.

"THE SHIP'S IN TROUBLE!"
The Zora captain's eye ripped open from his deep slumber as the voice screamed from outside. It sounded like someone was dragging a large table across all the doors. The Inn-keepers certainly wouldn't like this. But as it stood, all he knew is that somebody was attacking the ship. For whatever reason, Dogura and Morgoth had somehow contacted Yukie. If they needed backup it must be serious... MORGOTH. He couldn't believe that it hadn't hit him before. He threw the covers off and quickly suited up. I thought Dogura was more than enough to handle the necromancer! Oh, I shouldn't have let him keep watch over both the ship and the prisoner alone. The Zora must have seriously underestimated the samurai. Of course that's a big responsibility for one person. His sword rested on the table, neatly sheathed, and it was the last thing he grabbed before he hurried into the hallway.
It was Yukie after all. The accent was unmistakable in the first place, but visual confirmation was now in order. He rushed past the Deku and down the stairs to the lobby. He brushed past the receptionist on the way down the stairs and called out a quick apology as he rushed out the door. He kept a good pace toward the docks, and stopped cold when a series of backs came into view. He knew those backs without looking at them. The tall man in the black cloak turned around to see him standing there. "Boone..." Taint muttered as he drew his sword. "Hey captain. I found our little friend..." The captain turned away from Dogura and Morgoth and pushed past Boone. "Argg... If aint ol' Crowjack. I knew we're find ya here." Taint narrowed his eyes. "Stop calling me that. I'm not a part of your stupid crew anymore." Taint knew exactly what they were capable of, and analyzed the situation.

Taint stared for several seconds at the last one- the blind-folded one. He'd never seen him before. He looked back to Corvass. "What happened to the rest of your crew?" The man shook his head. "We had a storm on the way here. The weak were swept away with the waves. Only the strong survive on my ship, so long as I'm captain." The Zora gritted his teeth. "You're not the captain of that ship. You stole it." Corvass smiled, and revealed his nasty rotted teeth. "Yarr, we aren't so different after all are we?" He replied sharply. Taint shook his head. "That's not what I meant! Captain Gill-heart would have given his life for his crew. Have you all forgotten what Captain Gill-heard taught us? How could you all live with yourselves?" Boone stepped forward. "You will be silent now." Magic began to gather in his hands. Suddenly Taint looked terrified. Boone sneered. "Do I strike fear in your tiny heart?" Taint took a few steps back, his face pale. Boone's face turned to confusion- Taint was looking past him. He turned around to see a massive ball of corrosive darkness descending on them.
Alpha had shown up, that much was evident. Taint was deathly afraid of shadow magic, of any kind really. He barely managed to escape the blast radius when the spell finally exploded into darkness that aimed to pelt everyone with dark shrapnel. The group was quite taken by surprise, and still only a few of them took full damage. [Corvass -21HP], [Harley Full Resist], [Hannah Full Resist], [Boone -10HP], [Pierce -21HP], [Finnegan Full Resist], [Brick -21HP], [Oaken Full Resist], [Blind No Damage].
Dust was tossed into the air, and veiled the pirate crew, making Dogura unsure of their fates. Taint took this opportunity to unite with his comrades. Just as he'd suspected, Alpha was already in action. Dogura decided to take the initiative as well. The samurai reared back, and grabbed not a bit, but a whole handful of his special powder and tossed it in front of him. He exhaled hard, breathing flames into the dust cloud. If they were there, they would certainly be singed. [Bomb]
[Corvass -9HP], [Harley -9HP], [Hannah -9HP], [Oaken -9HP]
The flames died down along with the dust cloud. All the pirates were still standing, and they didn't look all that phased either. "Dammit..." Dogura uttered. Suddenly, a seed came shooting out of the Deku's mouth, and it exploded directly in front of Dogura. (OOC: Oh my God, Oaken got the worst rolls so far: 4, 1, 3, and 1 XD)
A huge explosion rocked the opposing team, and another dust cloud was kicked up. When the cloud cleared this time, the team was surrounded by a protective barrier. Morgoth stood in the center with his arms raised outward. When he let them down, the barrier dissipated. "I won't be able to react that fast every time... I'm getting old." He commented to the team. "Now go my minions! Attack!" The Stalfos charged forward swords in hand, and began swinging expertly at the opponents. The first skelton went straight for the captain of the crew, Corvass. The undead monster's sword fell short, however, and Corvass was able to sidestep easily. He returned the favor by taking a shot of his own at the creature, and nailing it right through the skull for a massive 48 damage! [Stalfos #1 -48HP] Somehow the creature managed to remain standing, but it was weak. It wobbled backwards, and did it's best to keep standing with what little life it had left. Morgoth stood next to Dogura with his arms folded. "This is why the undead make the perfect soldiers. They'll never disobey orders, and they won't give up until they can move no longer."
The second Stalfos leaped into the fray and attacked Boone, who also managed to sidestep the creature. He struck back with an elemental burst of light, which the creature managed to resist, but felt the cracking shock of it's weakness roll through its bones. [Stalfos #2 -26HP] It cried out in agony before falling to a knee. To Boone's surprise though, it rose to its feet once again, an anger in its eyes. Stalfos #3 had chosen Finnegan as its target, and lunged forward with its blade bared. Finnegan laughed drunkenly, and leaned backwards, avoiding the strike entirely. He dropped back on his hands, and used this momentum to bring his legs up for a hard kick to the creature's jaw. [Stalfos #3 -11HP]. Taint decided to hang back and observe for a bit longer before charging into the fray.
The group split up from their formation, and prepared to attack. This time, they meant business. Boone took careful notice of Alpha. I can't read his mind... That elemental burst from earlier was powerful... He rivals my own talent. I'll see him dead. He pointed in Alpha's direction, and a beam of lightning shot from his index finger. It jolted jaggedly across the gap between them. Before Alpha had time to react, it was already shocking him for 26 damage. [Alpha -26HP] That seemed to be the signal, as they all charged.
OOC: This is the official beginning of the battle. I only returned as many attacks as they received. Everyone post! We'll need everyone's strength combined- because this is gonna test you!
edit: Also don't hate me for not posting rolls. You take my word, I'm not fudging any rolls here, there are just too many people fighting. Thanks in advance.

Ooc: edit;; level 1 thunder on pirates
IC: In a flash of one motion, the blanket was flung aside, the boots were securely strapped on once more, and the door of the room was swung open. Sakiko tied her hair into a messy bun, throwing on her cloak at the same time. How did I know I wasn’t going to get off to a good night’s sleep so easily? She was certain that the magical aura that had almost screamed into her ear was coming from the ship. Skidding across the floor, she considered waking the others, when she heard a loud shout roaring others to open their eyes. Well. That was convenient.
She wasn’t looking forward to getting back on the water again, but she reluctantly supposed that getting in the scene of action was the most important thing to do. Sakiko leapt onto the decks rather clumsily, and to her regret, she wished that she had made it more…quietly. There was a whole mob of sketchy looking people, and from what she overheard, they weren’t here to party.
She stood in the midst of confusion, so often associated with battles, as dust rose and fell like waves, bodies burned… Well, if there was one thing that was positive from this situation, it was that Morgoth was on their side, and wasn’t using this opportunity to filch the ship or something like that. Still, couldn’t he call up just a few more Stalfos while he was at it? Just three? Come on…
And what was that? It seemed that these scoundrels knew Taint. Weird. Weird but not as urgent as the situation at hand.
Speaking of the situation at hand, Sakiko whipped around, trying to see in the dark all the enemies… Then, suddenly, a flash of light beamed through her vision. Oh no! Alpha! If she lad the leisure to do so, she would’ve gone to his aid, but the battle was just beginning.
Sakiko wasn’t very creative, so she resolved to use a spell she had used previously. She just prayed to the Goddesses that it’d work; the others had to get here soon or she didn’t know what would happen. She stretched her arm towards the air, her face upturned to the stormy skies. She tried to feel the electricity running through the veins of the dawn breeze, calling to them for help… her skin tingled with anticipation as her voice sliced through the chaotic battle…
“Thunder!”

Arrika's eyes shot open as Yukie's voice thundered through the hotel. She leapt out of bed, landed by the door, and Shadowmelded through in a matter of seconds.
One thing kept her from immediately dashing down the hall, however, and that was the soft crunch of something beneath her new boots.
A flower...?
She tucked it into her pocket- there'd be time to figure out that mystery later.
She slipped into another Shadowmeld once she spotted Taint, surrounded by a group of burly-looking pirates. For a moment she assumed that Morgoth was in open rebellion- those Stalfos didn't look at all friendly- but after seeing one of the undead monsters take damage from one of the pirates, she cast aside her doubt.
Should she wait for instructions from the Captain...? She grimaced- right now was a perfect example of attack first, ask questions later.
Without warning she pounced on the man in leather, knife slicing through the air with a nearly imperceptible sound.
OoC: I'd attack Hannah but I realized that it'd be better to wait it out a bit, eheh. Then again, you said not to attack a magic user, but he's the weakest one there...

Leth wandered aimlessly through the Deku woods, bow strung and ready. He was hunting the legendary Bear Boar, a monstrous creature strong enough to flatten a house. He proceeded stealthily through the trees, anxiously awaiting his prey. Suddenly, he heard a twig snap behind him. He whirled around, arrow pulled back on the string, aimed directly at…
Nothing. He had imagined it. He grunted and turned back around, only to find himself staring straight into the eyes of the Bear Boar. He let out a loud expletive, and leaped backwards, firing an arrow as he went, but it just bounced right off the beast’s thick hide. Leth prepared for the worst as the creature pounced, and as a few thousand pounds of stinky, matted monster fur were about to crash into him-
WHAM WHAM WHAM
Leth let out a terrific cry and bolted upright in bed.
Alpha wrote:
"WAKE UP!!!"
"EVERYBODY, GIT YER BUTTS OUTTA BED! WE GOT US SOME TROUBLE AT THE SHIP!"
"THE SHIP'S IN TROUBLE!"
Panting hard, Leth took a good look at his surroundings. He was in some sort inn room… ah yes, he had checked in here the night before. Who was it that was yelling at them to wake up? And why was he holding his bow? He looked at the door and noticed an arrow stuck an inch deep in the wood. He must have been gripping his bow in his sleep and released the arrow when he was startled out of his much-needed rest.
Speaking of which, it seemed Fate was determined to keep him from getting any sleep. He vaguely remembered the feast last night, and speaking with some people, but he couldn’t for the life of him remember what they had said. He must have still been groggy then because he had just woken up from his afternoon nap, because much of his memories of the day before were blurry messes. Of course, when he had heard that they were closing down and he had to go to get some sleep, he was wide awake and anything but sleepy. He remembered details from THIS part of his day – or night – quite clearly. He had been told to check in at the local inn and find his room, which he did. But because he had napped so late in the day, he could not get to sleep. He had tossed and turned his bed for hours before he could finally fall into the blissful slumber, which he guessed had happened around three or four o’clock.
Glancing out the window, he guesstimated that it was now about five thirty.
Fantastic. Two whole freakin hours of sleep.
He jumped out of his bed and hastily put on his fighting gear. Whoever it was that was yelling at them – it sounded like a deku, someone last night had mentioned one – obviously needed their help. Leth wasn’t sure how much help he would be after running on two hours of sleep, but he was sure gonna try. He opened his door and headed out towards the boat.
When he arrived, he took the scene in quickly. About nine piratey-looking people were doing battle with the other ‘adventurers’, one of whom he did not recognize, but he looked powerful. Perhaps the ‘Morgoth’ he had heard of? Some memories were starting to return, for sure, but he couldn’t remember what was important about this Morgoth… He knew he was forgetting something, but he decided to let it be for the time being and focus on the battle at hand. He stayed where he was; too far away to be seen, yet close enough to shoot with relative accuracy. He just prayed his loss of sleep wouldn’t hurt him too much.
Choosing an arrow from his quiver at his side, he set it to the string and then carefully applied his somewhat-limited magical knowledge to it to freeze the projectile. Leth carefully aimed it at the firey pirate guy. He knew this particular sort of magic was strong enough to freeze fire, but he also knew that given time and energy, the fire-wielder could melt it down to uselessness. But though fire trumped ice, it created two things: water and steam. Leth hoped the combination of those two things would be enough to put a damper on Mr. Fire Pants and keep him from flinging his magic any time soon.
Leth took a few more moments to aim, then let it loose at the pirate. He didn’t bother to wait and see whether or not it hit- he knew as soon as it did, the pirates would be aware of him and know his location. Instead, he rolled to his right and tried to move away as quickly as possible to a different location- hopefully he’d be able to continue assailing them with projectiles without them ever finding out where he was.

Alpha rushed outside as his magic began to work on the darkness of the weakening night shimmered, drawing together the essence of the lightless hour to converge upon these pirates. When the shadow explosion vanished, though, he was rather disappointed -- it seemed that a number of them had succeeded in resisting, at least in part, the effects of the spell. Nonetheless, he'd managed to deal some serious wounds to some of their number, and that was enough to make him feel that the magic had been worthwhile. He might even try it again, but for now --
Lightning shot out and crashed against him.
When the shock died down, he was on his knees, trying desperately to keep the Lightning under control. That was a powerful blast, and it had been aimed close to his heart -- he had to expend a fair bit of magic to ensure the electricity stayed away from that and other vital organs; such a thing would be instantly fatal. Anyone truly trained in Lightning, like those of his own Rohtra Hiran style, were aware of this fact.
He rose on wobbling legs, eyes seeking out the one-eyed man who had fired that blast. That wasn't difficult by any means -- the man's magical aura was one of the strongest of the lot. Crimson glare keeping fixed on the man, he kept his other senses tuned outward towards everything else, looking for a distraction. He didn't dare move any closer unless the man's focus was on something other than himself --
"Thunder!"
Perfect. 'Thank you, Sakiko!' he thought, leaping from the ship's deck onto the dock. In the process, he allowed his scar to flash violet once more. He reached his hand inside . . .
. . . and grasped the Staff Brenyuu.
'No one gets away with using my own element against me,' he thought, feeding his magic into the enchanted staff. It instantly extended to its full length, matching that of a normal staff, but he hoped -- no, prayed -- that the pirate would be foolish enough to try another Thunder spell against him.
The Staff Brenyuu -- Automatically redirects any electrical attacks to itself and absorbs them completely. Once charged with Lightning, the electricity may be expelled at the wielder's whim (this is treated as a Lightning Elemental Burst).
"Come now!" he called out with a laugh, sending his aura flashing outwards, touching every member of the crew with it, feeding them encouragement and power. "That's all you have? Don't make me laugh." He hefted Brenyuu, smiling at One-Eyed Boone all the while.
[[Leadership L1 -- AGI]]
He had no sooner completed the spell of empowering than he saw a flash of motion making fine use of it.
* * *
'Alrighty, that's enough -- time fer me to be headin' out myself!'
They surely must be awake by now; if not, the sounds of battle would no doubt awaken 'em soon. But Yukie'd spent too long as it were here already; he couldn't just stick 'round here bellowin', not when there was a battle to be fought!
He charged out of the inn, already seein' a bunch of people gathered -- quite a numba more than he recognized. A grimace overtook 'im; no doubt these were the trouble makers, rather than Morgoth. Suddenly magic seemed ta grip the world -- a black sphere of Shadow consumed them first, then a blast o' lightning tore at their ranks. The Deku kept on runnin', tryin' to get there before it were too late fer him to help . . .
A sudden wave of power crept inta his mind, an aura he recognized all too well further bolsterin' his strength. In all o' a second, he picked on one man who'd been hit purty hard by at least one of them spells, 'n charged! Leaping inta the sky, he drew both o' his Twin Deku Swords.
Then he plummeted, arrowin' in on his target like a wooden cannonball o' some kind.
He was a mere second away from Captain Corvass when he finally announced himself, using a tone dripping with a ruthless lack of mercy:
"Honorable Kill."

<center> ATTENTION PLAYERS
I'm going to be allowing something really special for the rest of the topic starting right here with this fight. If your character has a special weapon or ability, I'm going to allow use of it under one condition. Run it by me first in a PM. This is for me to make sure that it's not broken, OP, uber, or far too strong (however you want to say it). I get on every day, and I don't have class tomorrow (Tuesday), so I'll be checking often. Alpha asked me if he could use Brenyuu, and I didn't mind at all. I decided that I'm just cool enough to let you all use what you want. I'm calling a limit to only one or the other though. Unique weapon or Unique ability. If you've never created an ability or weapon before, it's really easy and fun! Let me make an example right here as a template for you to use:</center>
Hailstorm- Calls upon the elements to rain a mighty blizzard on all enemies. Damaged enemies have their AGI reduced by 2 for the following 3 turns.
Nature
Costs: 16 SPL
<center>I came up with that just now. The reduced AGI acts as sort of a freeze mechanic. Don't be afraid to get creative! As for unique weapons, take Alpha's latest post as an example. Just drop me a PM, and I'll send you an approval ASAP. If I think it might be too strong, I'll make suggestions as to how to balance it. Hope you all use this opportunity to its fullest! Remember, it's for the rest of the topic. If you've already posted before this, and want to edit your post, that's fine! I'll re-read them all to check it.
Have fun! </center>
OOC: Who has yet to post? ... Saber, Orpheous, Dream Illusionist, annnnd... I think that'd be it! Seeing as how some of the early crew flew the coop. At least Saber is trying, I think he's busier than all of us. Anyways after Orpheous and Dream Illusionist post, I'll make the next big post.

OOC: I've checked with Zelda Veteran, and my two specials are allowed by his good graces.
Thealter
Passive Ability/Item:
Bizarre Mask - all hostiles with less than or equal to Thealter's intelligence (stat) receive a -2 chance to resist a physical attack
Orpheous
Activation Required Ability:
Rhetoric: all hostiles receive -3 to SPI, with zero being the limit, for three turns.
Cost: 12 SPL; cool down time of four turns
IC: Danger followed the scribe everywhere he went. It was his own little shadow. He awoke from Yukie's initially screams, but seemed to be fixed to his bed in bliss. Eventually, he pulled himself up. Orpheous rubbed his eyes, threw on his over cloths over his tunic and trousers, then paced down to the docks, being careful to take his time. He'd hate to exhaust himself before he even got to the battle field, every last ounce of precious power should be conserved.
And now the real pirates, the one's that justice had been sought against on the Papara coast, stood at the dock, tormenting the crew. It would appear they were after Taint, as he had stolen their ship, but it seems Taint and that fiendish team had deeper beefs. Orpheous, unlike Dogura's initial reaction, underestimated none of them. The captain looked like he'd been in the business long enough to keep a powerful and diverse crew. Orpheous used this logic to deduce that all of the crew were as equal threats.
"Incapacitate the leader, cut the head from the body of the viper," Orpheous called to all listening, though mainly he was just making a mental note to himself. The captain looked resilient in all regards, either being able to block or dodge a staff attack, or capable of escaping a magical bombardment. Then, Alpha's taking charge filled Orpheous with a burst of energy, making him feel like he could move at greater speeds.
Orpheous drew his staff and prepared to attack Captain Corvass. He used one hand to balance the large weapon, and the other hand to provide the momentum for the swing required for a sturdy bludgeoning. The staff sailed directly for the captain's chest cavity, and it was intent on hitting its target [Staff on Captain Corvass].
---
Thealter in the meanwhile was already up before Yukie's bursting down the hallways, but he was unsure if he could help. His magecraft was nothing compared to Alpha's, they probably wouldn't need help. Though Thealter was in tune enough to realize that magical shots were fired by the dock, he certainly wasn't in the liked position to wake everybody up over it. He sluggishly shambled out of bed, and out of his room, after making sure he was prepared for battle, of course with his trademark mask covering his face. He descended just as slowly to the docks, taking his time, until he noticed that there were nine well-trained pirates fighting them, and that Arrika might be in harms way.
Once he noticed that Sheikahn in a position of harm, he soon pulled his act together. He attempted Alpha's concept from earlier. He believed wholeheartedly that another elemental explosion should thin their numbers by at least two, judging by the health of some of the combatants left. He raised out his staff towards the odd crew, shouting something out in an old language, before saying, "Elemental Explosion" [Elemental Explosion L1 on all Pirates] [-14 SPL].

Saber woke early in the morning, rocking back and forth with the waves. He thought he heard the sounds of a fight, but they disappeared just as suddenly as they had awoken him. Shrugging it off, he turned onto his other side and shut his eyes.
The next time he awoke, the sounds of fighting were much more persistent. Getting out of his bed cautiously, he touched his toes lightly upon his shoes, straining his ears. There was definitely something happening.
Slipping into his shoes, the mercenary made a lackluster attempt to remove his bedhair and grabbed his pants before heading out of the cabin. Upon the deck, he was greeted with several flashes of light.
Magic. Fantastic. He should definitely put his pants on.
Having been briefed, the nomad hastened back to his room, grabbing his sheath and saber. In his groggy state, he hadn't made out who any of the fighters involved were, but he was shirtless and ready to pummel whoever woke him.
As he neared the battle, he began piecing things together; that was definitely Dogura and everyone else who had been on the ship, some others whom he recognized as allies from battles past, and other people. He was going to assume the other people were the ones he was supposed to kill.
Unsheathing his saber, he let the roulette in his mind pick a target. His eyes landed on the Deku. He then wondered if that made him prejudiced, so he slightly altered his course and round himself heading towards Finnegan. For some reason, he didn't harbor much love for drunks, and this man seemed to release that rage. Running his blade along the ground, he brought it up in an arc as he neared Finnegan, looking to cleave him head to toe.
