OOC: First off, I am sorry for getting the facts wrong on Kuro and the cloaked man, I must have read the post wrong. Second off, hurray for more insight checks. Third off, that knight has himself some problems.

IC: Well Orpheous had figured out that the enemies were being commanded by some higher power. Perhaps if he could cut the head of the snake, whoever or whatever "the head" may be, the rest of the snake will lie dormant, unable to think or move without a brain. This was only a hypothesis, but Orpheous had seen it work before.

However, he was unable to identify the commanding force. He could only guess it was either the cloak man or the magician, and Simon appeared as though he had the cloaked man covered. Well, that left the magician. As soon as that apparently skillful mage let loose the spell he was charging up, Orpheous was prepared to retaliate. After all, he was a skilled magic user in his own rights. He still had no clue as to who the magician was aiming for or what group the monsters were with. However, he intended to examine the case further.

After all, it was entirely the knight's fault he was pulled back underneath cover of the shield. He almost had the puzzle figured out. Meanwhile, he couldn't help but worry about Simon.

He did blush a bit when Silna kissed him, but he did understand everything that was explained to him, both by Silna and the knight. Turning to Silna, he stated calmly to her, "You shouldn't be here. This is an extremely dangerous battlefield. Not even the war was this hopeless. This is an ambush and as a superior officer, you are to leave this battlefield, do you understand?"

She retorted quickly, also calm, "Well, I would retaliate with something that sounds even more like a army officer, but, quite frankly, military-speak was never my strong suit. So, I'm going to put this too you lightly, because I love you, I don't want to offend you, and, as I said, I don't speak militarianese: I am refusing to follow your orders because I'm trained in fighting, and you guys need all the help you can get." Then she addressed the knight, "I have a name. You may call me: Silna. And for your information, I'm a co-fonder of the PFH. I'm am a highly regarded person in society and I'm a war heroine. No offense, but could I please get a tad bit more respect. I am much more than a mere stay at home girlfriend. I don't ever stay at home for crying out loud." Once again, all the while, she kept her cool.

All Orpheous could do was nod. All the while, THE TWO STAYED UNDER THE COVER OF THE SHIELD (so the knight can't yell at them). Then he got back to work. Who was the magician planning to attack [awareness check]? Why were the monsters able get past the guard towers [insight check]? And what organization are the monsters with, if any [insight check]? This time, while analyzing, he made sure to stay in the cover of the knight's shield, once again, so he couldn't complain. Silna too stayed in the shade of the shield and out of the range of arrows, as well as stayed moving. She was also contemplating the same information as Orpheous (once again, do all the checks with her too, tough luck, again). Then the too prepared to dodge any attack they might face [dodge check, both].

Looking back at the knight, but keeping the infantry in this peripheral, he asked him, "What is your name anyways, and how long have you served with the Hylian Knights?

Meanwhile, Simon recovered briskly from the stab to the shoulder, stepped back, and looked at the man. Was he really a citizen [insight check]? He then prepared to dodge any blow coming at him [dodge check].

OOC: Sorry it took so long. I was lacking motivation. Also, I know I'm sounding like a broken record with these checks, but I'm very interested in getting some answers, so I'll keep investigating until I succeed. Also, the stats are were they were last, sorry I didn't put them in this post. I might put them in the next post though, or if you want me to, I can edit them into this one.

OOC: Damn, I read about that! I'm sorry, Zelda Veteran! I'm not letting the newb excuse fly; I promised myself I would check over every rule before doing anything in the game. I skimmed through some, since I had to leave... Enough excuses though, back to this. Additionally, I know what a ball and chain is, and I also know what a flail is. They are basically the same thing, or I believed so as I played A Link to the Past and Twilight Princess. And sorry about the fire scroll, Kasei. It was unclear, so I guessed. It wasn't labeled either fire scroll or elemental burst, so I guessed 50-50. Looking in your inventory would have definitely helped. However, at the time I didn't even find it necessary because only mages were allowed to use it. I didn't consider a grunt would have it... And Orpheous; first off, it's alright, no one's going to die over it (heheh); second off, agreed; third off, perhaps the knight's author does... I broke so many rules in a post I was nearly proud of. Shame...

Oh, and just so everyone knows, I should have mentioned this earlier; when you've begun actual combat with the army of moblins, I'll allow you to take on more than you actually are. I'm only counting one for stats, though. Don't say you kill infinity of them like you're Napoleon Dynamite; think realistic. You can go from one to the next, crushing/slicing/burning/shooting them, passing from one to the next. Like 10? How many do you think your character could take without being Zues or God, smothering them with a godly power, ending the entire battle. So say you miss an attack by stats. You can pull back in your own post and make another strike, taking the moblin down.

IC: Shigure's strike missed the terrified hideous soldiers. They knew that hand to hand combat would not suffice. They needed to throw their spears if they were to do any damage at all. They threw them, but either they were so terrified of the enraged thing that they missed their throws without focus, or they were clattered uselessly off the Goron's stone-hard back. None did damage to him. Now a handful of them were weaponless! Unarmed...

... Perhaps they'd have better luck unarmed against the Sheikah over there who discarded his weapons (OOC: Sorry Kuro, I thought gluing Zelda Veteran's and Kasei's together would seem appropriate, considering their close by, and from the creatures' perspective, AKA the NPCs', their new concern was Kasei). The Sheikah was already throwing a punch at a moblin's face, fellow Stalfos and Lizalfos close beside. The moblin leaned back and thrust its halberd forward in hopes of impaling the threatening enemy before him, but the Rebel Flame was a step ahead. He had parried it, and let it pass him by, putting him closer to another less-terrified Stalfos, sword already risen above its head. Neither moblin nor Rebel Flame did what damage they had hoped to cause, but in turn they were not hurt.

(OOC:... Will...? Unfamiliar with that...) The Stalfos, though without a nose or much to count for eyes, knew that a threat was near. He and his battalion were ordered to enter the city and burn all in their path. Already they had thrown aside their torches in random directions. The people staggered to put them out. That would be a good distraction, while they did what their additional order was...

"Lis AHR MRIBARGA INRBAO!" he snapped. It was infernal, but the translation was obviously an order. "RIN INDUR, FURUS FYR -" his barks were cut off by the sudden jab from Kuro's sword jabbing down into his empty skull. The bald bone cracked to the marrow, but his eyes never faded from their colour. He was still alive. The others were alert, and ready to fight this newcomer. "ATRAAAALLL!" as the others jumped at the pathetic thing who wasted what remained of his life to hopelessly be a hero, the stalfos stabbed at him. The thrust was direct, but it was not deep enough to enter further than the membrane of the skin.

Kin's insight check was successful, and he saw immediately what was happening. He didn't need asking. The city burned, and an army massed before him. No attack was made at him quite yet, for the volleys had come when he was elsewhere. He became aware very quickly of the enemies. They were preparing an charge in. However, a lone battalion of Stalfos had charged in, with or without orders, and a lone figure stood in their way; Kuro!

The knight, still clicking his gauntleted thumb against the handle of his shield impatiently, snorted. "And for your information, Silna, I am also a highly regarded knight. You're in the battlefield, so you're hoping to do a man's job. So be it. I won't be soft with you just because you're a woman, or because you're of some kind of authority. I am actually a captain, not a knight, known by name to the king, and I've been through captain's training, and in suck training it caused battle to seem natural to me. I have guarded the king with my life ever since the princess was born. Third in command of an elite regiment, if that means anything to you. If I recall correctly (OOC: Forgive me if this is God-moding. I don't think it is, but it could be...), the PFH works separate from the Hylian Knights. My name is Captain Krin."
Image
Captian Krin is the tall Captain of the Guard at North Castle. He is extremely loyal to the Royal Family and gives aid to Link and Zelda whenever he can and is an expert in swordplay. -- Juliet A Singleton from North Castle.co.uk. Yes he's an official character.

Orpheous looked the magician over; the way he was casting it - was their a shadowy aura around it, or a brighter one? It was gray, who could tell? But the way the words were accented... this was black magic. No matter who he was aiming at, he had evil in his heart. Perhaps it was both armies that he targeted! But the spell was gradually reaching its climax. No sign of it yet... (OOC: If the check had succeeded, the spell would have unleashed. I REALLY don't want you to find out his target until it's too late). In this, Silna was also unsuccessful.

He had spent enough time looking at the magician though; in only a matter of seconds they would be unsafe. He peeped over the side of the shield, and saw wizzorbe fighting other magicians wearing Hylian Knight armour. So that meant wizzorbes killed the watchmen before they could spot the army advancing in hiding.

Orpheous couldn't get a clear view over the shield again from his positioning to see the banners of the enemy. But then Silna saw it - the skull banners, red as blood.

Exiles.

Simon looked at him. Would he carry a knife if he was a civilian? Perhaps for self-defense, but the people knew that guards walked every street. This man was an assassin. No civilian. Weakly, the assassin made a mocking smirk, and rose his weapon above his head, ready for the next blow. But Simon ignored the pain in his shoulder just enough to see into the man's thoughts and counter. His movement was so swift that no one could even hope to counter that unless they could foresee time. The sword he held shot the pitiful knife out of the man's hand and he slashed it across his chest. He fell to the ground, bleeding to dead. He was finished. With his dying breath, he muttered, "You shall wish you never saw the end of the war should you live to see it, brother." (OOC: NO THAT IS NOT GOD-MOODING! He called him brother because they're both human!)

Kin was ready to attack now. He seen the stalfos. I'll kill two for now Kin thought. Kin ran at a Stalfo. Kin then rolled behind him and attacked. He hit the stalfo as hard as possible. Kin was hoping to be strong enough to take him out. Kin then jumped back to see if it was safe to attack again [Awareness check].

OOC: I didn't know what to use Insight check or awareness check.

IC: Kin ran to hit the stalfo again. He raised His staff into a sky and slammed it down on to the stalfo. Kin then did a backflip to avoid a incoming attack [dodge check] . Then Kin lefted His staff and used it as a sheild. He spun it around so fast that you could barely see it. I'll run at the Stalfo do a backflip over it and hit it down Kin thought.
OOC: This is going to be fun. It would of been a longer post if I know what to say now.
Note: I'm fighting one stalfo in this post. I got a new abilitie : Exceptional Health l1 so there is 10 hp added to my health.

OOC: First off, I would like to apologize to Kin, I'll get to you in the second part of the post. Second off, saying that the PFH doesn't work with the Hylian Knights is accurate, so that wouldn't be god-modding, nor would the cloaked guy calling Simon brother because they are both humans. However, for future reference, it is more realistic that a Shiekah be hired as an assassin. I'm not saying humans can't be good assassins, I have one myself that is practically the most skilled assassin ever. I think it can be safe to say that a human might be hired should his skill be good enough, but Shiekahns are typically more preferred for stealthy missions. But really, though, having a human assassin is no problem so don't feel bad about yourself.

On a completely different note: When I was saying the "Captain" had problems, I was referring to his snappiness (and yes, it is a word).

IC: "Well, that was oddly easy," noted Simon, watching the assassin drop to the ground. He had received much worse threats, so it didn't really phase him. Then, assuming that Kuro was still in the alleyway, he looked back. Kuro was gone. "Great," muttered Simon. Then he turned back to the alleyway. There had to be a path that he could take to get back to Orpheous without walking into the fire of arrows on the street [insight check]; perhaps if he cut through some buildings.

Once Captain Krin had finished his spiel, Silna replied, still utterly calm, "You see, Captain, was it that hard? I am assuming no. Well then, now that we are all clear that you are obviously in command here, let's take care of this little problem, and hopefully, we can treat each other with some respect. Now, on to the conundrum."
Then she realized that Kin had asked Orpheous a question, but he had missed it because he was so deep in thought.

Then she called out to Kin. "Sorry, Kin," she apologized for Orpheous. "We are all just a bit frazzled right now. You never met me, if I am correct, but Orpheous briefly mentioned you. My name is Silna, and I am Orpheous' love interest. As for what's happening, a bunch of exiles are being commanded to attack Castle Town for unknown reasons. They sneaked in by taking out the guards on the watchtower by using wizzrobes. We hypothesis that the magician is in charge of their ranks, and that if we can possibly defeat him, they invasive force might simply crumbled under our strong suit. But as for right now, we need to take out the archers so that backup can assist us in taking out the rest of the infantry."

Orpheous nodded, listening, but not looking at the converstation. He was analyzing two new questions now. First off, where were the archers and how far were they from them [awareness check]. Secondly, could it be possible for the drawbridge to be raised to prevent more infantry from coming into the castle [insight check]. As soon as Silna was done explaining what was going on with Kin, she also assisted Orpheous in his analysis (once again, re-due the checks with her stats, sorry for all the hard work, I'm just that interested in answers). And once again, the two prepared to move out of the way should an attack be aimed at them [dodge check]. Also, by now, Silna had put back one of her daggers and got out a shield to cover herself, considering the knight's shield could only give protection to a limited amount of people. She called out to Kin once more. "If you want to get out of the rain of arrows that will tare you to pieces, I suggest you get under this shield. I find it highly futile to take on the infantry until the archers have been disposed of."

All around him, people ran screaming. Fright pierced through the normally peaceful atmosphere of North Castle, descending the city into a realm of chaos rather than the order that the place was known for. No one had expected it, and few were able to come to grips with the situation quickly enough to make any difference in it. Most fled, others ran to the fray, and many from both of these groups died as the onslaught of vile creatures and malevolent beasts swarmed through the gates of North Castle like a plague.

Across the city the cries of newfound warfare spread with even greater speed than that of the villainous invaders' charge; it was inevitable, therefore, that it would be only a few minutes after the battle had begun that news of it would reach the ears of the Sheikah known to most only as Alpha.

True, he had been known by several names and titles. Keyru Varaudo was his name by birth, but he had cast that name aside when he had begun his training in the ways of the Rohtra Hiran style of fighting; not until he had mastered the form would he be permitted to reclaim his former name. And for a single year he had worked as an assassin, becoming renown after his very first mission by penetrating a fortress which veterans thought impervious. Though many had called him many things, he had answered only to the name of Wraith.

Perhaps he would need to once again call on the arts that made him so successful in that murderous profession . . . but then, whenever he did that, he became so entrenched in the mindset of Wraith that he probably would laugh at the pathetic townsfolk fleeing so helplessly. Yes, they were rather humorous . . .

He stands on a rooftop where he had been taking a much needed nap but a few moments earlier; part of him thinks it perfectly fine to leave these fools to their fate in retribution for waking him. He shakes his head with a chuckle, thinking of how abhorrent that thought would have been to him back when he had first returned to Hyrule three years ago. Now it doesn't bother him that he thinks in such a manner; nor does the truth that he has changed drastically make him hesitate. He did what he had to do, and he adapted to situations as he needed to. If becoming more cold-hearted was what he required to continue surviving, then by all means he'd do so. If he had to sacrifice this entire city to survive, then so be it. If he had to kill them himself, then that was fine. He might regret it one day, but for now he'll do what it takes to get to that day.

Fortunately, the latter two situations are not the ones he finds himself in now. 'It's been a while since I've seen numbers like this . . .' he contemplates silently. The corners of his mouth are tugged slightly upwards as he begins using his Sheikah agility and years of training to effortless dart towards the fray, running across rooftops without fear. 'This looks like fun!'

* * *

It is only a few minutes later that the Sheikah arrives on the scene, having dashed forth so quickly that the wind rushing against his face threatens to yank his favored hood off his head, using the same force that keeps his black cape flapping all about behind him. He stops on a rooftop near the edge of the battlegrounds, surveying the area and gathering whatever information he can from such a cursory glance. 'Exiles . . . figures that it'd be them. Why must they always be getting in my way like this? . . .' He reaches up with a hand, brushing it past his glowing blue scar before it reaches his hood to ensure that it is still raised. Not that any of these half-intelligent creatures should recognize him, but . . . well, there is always the chance, especially considering that they have some more intellectual species spread among their ranks - i.e., the humans that appear every so often on their side. One in particular catches his attention: a man who is dressed eerily similar to himself. Well, except for those patch of blood running down his head and body . . . such a grizzly sight . . .

He'd been right. This is going to be fun!

Seeing a stray arrow dart straight in his direction, the Sheikah immediately decides that the lines of battle are expanding further into the city; the time to act is now. After catching the bolt in midflight and hurling it to the ground, the Shadow Folk's representative begins his rooftop trekking once again, sprinting over shingles and wooden or brick canopies as his mind centers in on his destination. Being a mage himself, the magical currents focusing around the wizard with a bone-chilling aura are easy to detect, and equally easy to realize as a true threat, perhaps even more of one than all the rest of the army fighting to break into the city.

Not knowing what kind of spell this mysterious being might be preparing, the Sheikah swiftly thinks through the possibilities he can use to combat it. 'I can wait and see what it is . . . but not knowing what it is or who the target is could turn out badly in the long run. Try to stop him from casting it? More likely he would fire off the unfinished product if any interference is detected, even if it meant sacrificing himself in the process. Best choice therefore is . . .'

His blurred form abruptly comes to a halt standing on the building closest to where these malevolent energies are gathering, while still remaining out of the magician's line of sight. In all of an instant the Sheikah puts his own skill at magic to good use and stretches his arms out before his face, focusing his own aura into them. The wind picks up once again, blowing his cape back from his body and his hood off his head, revealing the azure glow emanating from his scar, as an ever-changing sphere of pure destructive energy appears in his grip. Violet then red, blue followed by yellow, green morphing into brown, the basic form of this most powerful spell tries to choose which element to embody in this casting of it. The Sheikah's grin turns from simply battle-loving into one that is malicious and bloodthirsty in its own right, perhaps making it so that those nearby who did not know him would be wondering which side this newcomer was on.

'Best choice therefore is to attack before he can!'

With a mighty roar, Alpha announces his presence to all who had not yet taken note of his arrival. "ELEMENTAL EXPLOSION!" he screams out, before hurling the sphere with all his strength straight at the ground beneath the wizard's feet.

OOC: Kudos for using Captain Krin, King. Nogare would be proud of you for bringing him into the mix.

Shigure didn't even smile in battle like he normally did. The panic- the confusion- the destruction. With Malevont still fresh on his mind, he roared, and began twirling both Ball&Chains around furiously. With them twirling at top speed, The Goron began busting his way through the crowd of beasts, swinging them every which way. He could feel the creatures' jaws and skulls cracking wide open as his weapons struck home, and blood was beginning to cake his weapons and his being. He payed not a heed to the beasts he struck down with his fury, and listened carefully to the orders the beasts were receiving.(Shigure speaks infernal, I spent 2TP on it) [Translate Check].
Translate—Used to determine whether or not a character can understand a language that they are either being spoken to in, or attempting to read, that is otherwise not one of their natural language. To successfully translate something a character must meet or overcome a set check number, and then they get bits and pieces of the target language so that they can understand what it means. If the check succeeds by more than 10, the character perfectly translates the target. Checks are as follows:

1 To translate a language a character innately speaks

5 To translate a language a character has learned

20 Translate a common language they don’t know.

40 Translate an uncommon language they don’t know.

Note: Scribes get a +10 bonus to all Translate checks.
If he can listen in on their orders, he might be able to counter their maneuvers, and prevent some of the destruction from happening. Suddenly, beasts around him began falling in great numbers, some of which his weapons weren't even crushing. He stopped the turning of his weapons for a moment to look around for the source. When there- he found it. A mage using elemental explosion, a spell revered for its incredible power. Only mages of the highest caliber could execute that that technique as flawlessly as he'd just witnessed. Although he seemed rather sinister, he was destroying monsters, not the people defending the town. Deciding to keep a close eye on the mage, Shigure's eyes got stuck a child in the panic. He was huddled down in the fetal position in the middle of the road. It had only been a miracle that he hadn't been killed in the onslaught so far. Swinging his weapons again, he battled his way over to the child, barely missing the arrows that flew through the air. He stopped at the child's position, and instantly recognized him.

"Trevor!!" He yelled loud enough for the child to hear. The child looked up, his face matted with snot and tears. "Trevor, come on now!!" He called above the madness, extending a hand to the child. "Mr.G-Gorooonnn!!" He cried, as Shigure took him into his arms, carrying him to safety. Putting him down away from the madness, the Goron looked into the child's eyes. "Trevor, I need you to listen to me! Go directly to Stinky's Cucco-House! Tell them Shigure sent you!" The child whimpered, and held the Goron's arm. "But w-wh-what if y-you get h-h-h-UURRTT?!" Trevor began sobbing again. "Don't worry! I'll be fine! I'm Mr.Goron remember? I'll always be here, just do what I say, and do it now!" The child nodded, hugged Mr.Goron, and took off towards Stinky's. Standing up, Shigure slowly began swinging his heavy weapons as he pushed his way back into combat.

Aiden was thankful as she felt herself slip out of the battle and into invisible saftey. With a sigh she waited for the moment she would return. Her mind was running, what could she do? She wasn't an overly skilled fighter and she was certainly no mage. In fact, Aiden was basically a person with a good personality. As suddenly as she was gone she reappeared. From the look of it much had changed since she had seemingly vanished. More people were fighting and enemies were being brought down like nothing. It made her feel confident and safe, but she was still in the midst of danger and she well knew it.

Even in grave danger as she was she thought of what she could do to help the masses. She knew ny pulling out her flute she would be leaving herself defenseless, but she did not care. Putting the instrument to her lips she began to play, it was willful piece, a little difficult even for her. Aiden was a skilled player with a lot of talent, she was born to entertain, or so it would seem, and she loved it. Even in battle one could probably hear her play the song [Spirit of Nayru].

Kuro pulled his sword out of the skull of the Stalfos with a new realization; he was being attacked by multiple Stalfos now. This is great, he thought. I'm going to die. He didn't want to believe that he actually would die, but that was his first reaction.

He drew his sword back and slashed once more at the monster standing in front of him. After pulling the sword away, he turned and began running to a safer area. As he ran, he slashed, stabbed, and avoided anything in his way in an attempt to reach a safer area. It was likely there weren't many safe areas, but he can always try can't he?

As he ran, he heard the words of a spell being yelled. He looked up at the source of the spell, to see someone that seemed like an enemy, but was attacking enemies. This was a good thing. This mage seemed strong, especially due to the high caliber of the spell. With something like that, how could these Exiles win?

As his attack missed, Kasei smild a bit. Sure, he didn't do jack squat, but he wasn't hurt himself, either. This was always a good thing, because it gave him room to kick down the lesser enemies who were comeing at him from behind. "Well, this is quite a pickle, huh? Not a single one of you is good enough to stop me, and it seems that I can't get a good hit in. Let's try a FIREBALL!" He roared, letting the fires of DOOM launch out of his mouth as if he were a dragon, soaring forward to kill the nearer enemies.

OOC: Forgot about this.

OOC: Hi, sorry about this! A lot happens in life, so here I am. The numbers are in, and it's decided; I will show the stats.
The Rules Set wrote:When in doubt, insight!
I'll make in an insight check, Kin.

IC: The blow from Kin's staff came. Seeing the Sheikah approach another Stalfos was lunging at him right beside the knight of the battalion, who was about to be defeated. Bad choice. The swing from the staff came down and smashed both of their heads clean off.
Stalfos: 2+3 (AGI + DEF) = 5
Kin: 20 + 9 + 4 + 4 (Dice roll + Weapon attack bonus + talent bonuses + AGI) = 37
Critical damage! Both fell dead in their places (OOC: You only officially killed one there, the one of them - the one that was already mostly hurt by Kuro. It only had 2 HP left. Bummer... Also, I'd prefer if you only took 1 turn in this post. Think about it, once people see you take two turns in the same post, others will probably want to take ten turns in a post, and before long the Dungeon Master here can't even keep track of what's going on. So one post is fine. You killed the head Stalfos anyway, helping Kuro out).

Another skeletal warrior, his eyes literally in flames of anger, his sword raised above his head to strike, jumped at Kin with nothing but the lust to kill flowing in its mind, should that orb of magical power be considered a brain for which it can think.
Stalfos: 7 + 2 (Dice roll + AGI) = 9
Kin: 8 + 2 (AGI + DEF. No Armour bonus) = 10
Close call! Just at the last possible second, Kin saw the newcomer lunge at him and he raised his staff just in time to meet the monster's sword before it splintered his head open.

After the unexpected attack he just escaped, Kin checked to see if it was safe to attack again.
Insight: 19 + 3 (Dice roll + INT) = 22
Predetermined Number: 10
There was nowhere to hide, no one to save. Only the enemies flailing their weapons around their heads and jumping forth. Nothing in the way. No choice but to attack.
Dodge: 14 + 3 + 8 (Dice Roll + INT + AGI)
Predetermined Number: 0
It's a good thing to be on guard, but thankfully at that second there was no enemy about to attack from any side. They all stood before him, charging...

OOC: Orpheous, for future references, keep in mind that Sheikahs have served Hyrule ever since the Ocarina of Time and before. Their numbers decreased, so there's two reasons right there for me to have a human instead of a Sheikah: Sheikahs are commonly, yes more mysterious and shady, but they still serve Hyrule commonly, based off the games. Also, there are more humans than Sheikah, and I'm sure based on what you said there are more Sheikah assassins than human assassins. I considered having the cloaked man as a Sheikah, but I found humans more fitting.

Sorry, didn't consider that. Captain Krin is somewhat snappy. He hit Link in the face deliberately for crying out loud! ... And please tell me at least some of you have read the Valiant Comic series.

IC: Another volley of arrows hailed down over the road, with another Infernal command, most bouncing uselessly against the marble, but some making their marks in soldiers that were making their way for the enemy from the west, to the right of where Simon looked out from the alley. Was there some way to reach Orpheous?
Insight: 4 + 4 (Dice Roll + INT) = 8
Predetermined Number: 15
Insight Failed From first glance, there was nothing. It would take a little more looking...

Krin shot a glare at Silna, then over at the magician. There wasn't any time, the others could take him down if they found him a threat. His duty was with the archers. He was only grateful that the heroine hadn't yelled that so loud that the magician would hear, or else it might have unleashed its spell their way.

Orpheous glanced out from under the shield once the volley had ended again to see how far they were away.
Awareness: 6 + 5 (Dice Roll + INT) = 11
Predetermined Number: 5
Awareness Successful! They were close now. He could see Kasei and Shigure slicing through the infantry. Just passed the infantry were the archers, drawing their bows back, the knights commanding them raising their hands above their heads, signaling them to prepare to fire. So close. Just a little further. Maybe after another volley, they would reach the infantry, and they'd carry out Krin's plan. All had to go well, though... that magician... the dark magic he was summoning... it looked bad.

Insight: 18 + 5 (Dice roll + INT) = 23
Predetermined Number: 20
Insight Sucessful! Orpheous' eyes read the gate, then saw the winch that would close it. Hylian Knights were fending off the Exiles up there! They just kept coming! They couldn't last long. There was no way to get all the way up the stairs leading to the top of the wall without a fight - a big fight. Hundreds stood in the way! The infantry of the Hylian Knights was on its way from behind. They weren't charging yet - not until they had covered enough distance. Krin could be seen wincing as he followed Orpheous' stare. He knew every one of them up there by name - Falu, Oeuso, Leon, Wallis - they were all going to die without help. A few arrows flew from the infantry behind them, and even if they were shot with the greatest archers in Hyrule, there was no way they could be saved... Oeuso fell sideways, gripping his chest, having been slashed across the heart by a battle ax. There was no way of helping them. They just had to take back what they would loose, if they were indeed going to close the drawbridge. (OOC: They're successful. I don't see why Silna should bother doing it again. Also, keep in mind that there's more than one way to win this battle).

Orpheous' Dodge: 16 + 5 + 1 (Dice Roll + INT + AGI) = 20
Silna's Dodge: 19 + 4 + 4 (Dice Roll + INT + AGI) = 27
Predetermined Number: 0
No attack came at them, but anything could have happened. Better safe than sorry.

Only then did the exclamation, causing a cold fire of fear to dance up Krin's spine, come from behind. He turned around and with horror saw the man bring an elemental attack on the magician. Wasn't that Alpha? Terror gripped him. How could the mage hold up against such a powerful foe! This was not a battle he was ever hoping to witness or be aware of...
Element: Earth (Rolled 4 on a 6 sided dice)
The element becomes Earth, and stones hurl up at the magician, throwing him off balance. Sensing the threat, the spell unleashed....

HP: 100

Spells:
All except resurrection, Temple Services, and Royal Spirit

Abilities:

IC:
Alpha's Elemental Explosion: 13 + 3 + 3 (Level + Base class + INT) = 19
Magician's Defense: 10 + 9 (Dice roll + SPI) = 19
(OOC:... I bet I'm going to do this wrong, so please correct me with it. Thanks)
The Earth struck into the magician which burst from the ground into his chest, and this then unleashed what he had summoned.

------------------------------------------

Every element gathered above the castle - Light, shadows, earth, nature, fire, and water. Rain in shadowed clouds, merged with drops of flaming lava, though combined in the same drop otherwise not effecting each other, with broken chunks of buildings which now were in flames and otherwise useless and hopeless to rebuild brought from their foundations and shot forth into the sky. His shadow magic joined the mass gathering in the sky, like a merry-go-round, summoning a tornado between the objects circling in the sky. Lightning accompanied claps of thunder in the enclosed walls of the city. The human mage, unwilling to be defeated by this mass which had itself thrust into his belly, yelled out his magic words in confidence. The words were unknown - some dark spell, a language maybe even as sinister as Infernal itself! The target remained unclear, but one this was clear - whoever was the enemy of this magician had to take on that!

OOC: Zelda Veteran, I know how translate check works. Also, I looked in your profile. You're a good artist.

IC:
Shigure's Translate: 6 + 1 (Roll + INT)
Predetermined Number: 5
The Stalfos was ordering this before Kuro jabbed him in the skull; "Raid the city! If you see the magician -" he was cut off and jabbed in the head by Kuro's sword. The others yelled, "ATTACK!!"

Shigure finished his instruction to Trevor, and joined in the fight again. The Exiles there stared in utmost fear, wanting to retreat with all their will, but they couldn't, or an even more terrifying monster would bash their heads in instead. They were doomed. The ominous gathering of elements above their heads didn't help either. A pack of moblins were closest to Shigure, and they dove into the fight, knowing very well that it was their end.
Shigure: -2 + 6 + 4 (2H Sword + Dice Roll + AGI) = 8
Moblin: 2+ 3 (AGI + DEF) = 5
ONE HIT KILL! The moblins crumbled under the weight of the crazed Goron like bowling pins, exploding on impact.
The moblins attempted a counter, throwing their spears and other things.
Moblin: 10 + 2 (Dice roll + AGI) = 12
Shigure: 15 + 4 (DEF + AGI) = 19
Every attack either once again bounced uselessly off the Goron's stone-hard back, or missed entirely! But the numbers were many. It might cost a hundred of them, but sooner or later this Goron had to be brought down!! ... They might need a demon of their own to bring him down.

Aiden's song lifted into the sky. The battle seemed somehow calmer - a piece that touched even the hearts of those who had none. Many hardly stopped battling, but for that spit second, all heard the sound.
+3 INT, SPI, SPL, and Resists for everyone for three rounds Nayru was with them...

When the song was finished, the song's soft music disappeared, and the light it seemed to give off vanished, returning to the black and red battlefield.

Kuro came at the Stalfos knight again, this time finishing it off, causing its brain orb to disappear like a shadow in a doorway of light.
Kuro: 20 + 3 (Dice roll + AGI)
Stalfos: 2 + 3 (DEF + AGI)

Kuro just needed now to search for the safe place he sought. All the while Stalfos charged from behind. They attacked.
NO DODGE CHECK! Kuro was slashed across the back by the sword of a moblin while running.

"VOLD!" Hollered the captain in the ranks of the archers far off, towards where Shigure and Kasei were having an onslaught of their own. By now Shigure had heard it and understood it enough times. In Common he was saying, "VOLLEY!" Another mass of arrows whizzed into the sky.

The monsters at the gate stared out in horror as the Rebel Flames cast is signature spell - Fire.
Monsters: 14 + 1 (Dice Roll + SPI) = 15
Kasei: 16 + 1 + 1 (Level + Base class + INT) = 18
ONE HIT KILL! The monsters exploded under the flames of Kasei's spell, reduced to ashes in an instant.
A spear came at Kasei from the side.
Lizalfos: 5 + 2 (Dice roll + AGI) = 7
Kasei: 7 + 2 (AGI + DEF) = 9
Seeing it coming, Kasei side-stepped, letting it impale itself into another Lizalfos that was on the other side of him.

OOC: I sincerely apologize for the lateness of the post. I've been busy, and now I've finally had a chance. Orpheous, that took me a day and a half to make! To be honest, though, i like showing the stats better than not, so I suppose that settles that. I'll post this to I don't waste any more time, and so you can make your replies, but I'll edit the post to show what the statistics are. Thanks for being patient.

Amazing post there man!
I only posted the rules for the translate check because you're significantly new, and it took me a year before I got all of this down. In any case, I agree with you on the Sheikans bit. People don't seem to get that they're a dying race.

IC: Shigure listened intently to their screaming orders, and understood most of it over the roar of the war. Somebody needs to get rid of those archers, and fast. Shigure thought as he fought his way through the infantry. He thought hard on how to improve what seemed like a hopeless situation. Suddenly, it hit him. Some memories from the great war came flooding back to him...
"Sir! We're losing soldiers fast! The enemy is closing in! What should we do?" Shigure stared at the ceiling of the tent he was being kept in. A smile came to his face as he heard the words from outside the tent. As a prisoner of war, he was happy to hear that his men were breaking back through the barracks to retrieve him. Shigure looked down at the shackles he was in, and a tear came to his eye. "Sir! Action needs to be taken now!!"

"How are they doing this?! They're inferior in numbers and skill."

Shigure smiled wider, as he knew what was happening near the front lines of the battle. He glanced at the silhouettes outside of the tent.

"They're being led into battle by a samurai! He's commanding them, leading them, and giving them the strength of mind that they need to do what has to be done!!"

"They can't be doing this all off of morale!!"

Shigure began chuckling to himself. The man that taught him the most valuable lesson he'd ever learned was bringing the army through to rescue him. Funny. I didn't even think he liked me... he thought. All because he had the power to boost their spirits... He turned the battle around... thats King Rendd for you...
Shigure's mind opened as he realized something vital that could be done to turn the situation around. He cleared his throat, as he slammed the enemy that was sneaking up on him. He suddenly burst forth in enormous sound waves.

"DON'T GIVE UP!!!" He screamed. "STAND, AND FIGHT!" He cried, as he turned to his left, and then his right, screaming the message out to all who were within Castle Town's walls. "DON'T GIVE IN!! THE GODDESSES WOULD NEVER SIDE WITH THESE MONSTERS, AND THE KING WOULD NEVER GIVE IN TO THEIR WILL!! RAISE YOUR ARMS AND GIVE THEM THE HELL THEY NEVER THOUGHT POSSIBLE!! LET EVERY LAST MAN STAND AND GIVE THEIR DYING BREATH- TO DEFEND THIS CASTLE!!" He was out of breath, and a bit light headed from the screaming and the commotion.
[Leadership Lv1 (+3 to Intelligence)]

OOC: I figure I could increase damage done from attacks if Aiden increased the chance for them to hit. TAKE THAT MAGICIAN OUT MAGIC USERS!!

OOC: Sorry about the Shiekahn thing. I see your reasons now.

As for how you calculated the spell's chance to hit, I do think you messed up there. The magicians SPI is supposed to be added to a d20. And, if the check is 20 or exceeds 20, he takes half damage. If it is 25 or greater, than he completely resists the spell. As for what you thought Alpha's chance to hit was, that was really how much damage he would do. So, technically, since the Magic Resist Check that the magician underwent was only 19, than he would now have 19 less HP.

Also, Elemental Explosion is supposed to hit all the enemies. Now, I would find it unfeasible that Alpha would hit every enemy in the castle, but maybe if you figured out how many enemies might have been in the nearby vicinity, you would figure out how many enemies took damage. Anyways, on to the post.

IC: Orpheous was frustrated, it appeared there was no hope with the countless horde of enemies invading the castle. They need to take out the archers, and, possibly, if they could get to it, shut that gate. Silna had noticed the same thing that her boyfriend had. The gate was controlled by a switch.

Silna's mind began to work quickly, like clock work. First off, could it be reached with a projectile weapon from where she was at [awareness check] ? Secondly, could it be triggered back to a point where it would raise the drawbridge by being hit with a projectile [insight check]? After all, legendary heroes of the past were able to trigger switches with their boomerangs and arrows. This could be a strategy that might work.

Simon's mind was also working faster than ever. He needed to find a way to get to Orpheous and Silna. He needed to get out this alley in a way that wouldn't get him shot him down with arrows [awareness check]? That would be the first thing he needed to worry about before getting back his master.

Meanwhile, Orpheous had realizing something. The magician needed to be defeated. "EVERYONE, ATTACK THE MAGICIAN," he called out across the courtyard. Around this same time, he heard Shigure. Perfect, with the Goron's words of inspiration, and his advice, they might be able to pull this off. He seemed like a strong fellow. However, he might have not been the most agile. They would need to concentrate a lot on strength and agility if they wished to do some major damage to the magician. Luckily, the Goron's words had offered strength. "EVERYONE, PUT YOUR EFFORT INTO YOUR SPEED [Leadership L1 - AGI]."

OOC: Ok, I know that it may seem odd, Dungeon Master, but you can have several Leadership's happening at the same time. By the way the system is currently set up, for this turn, and the two following turns, everybody will get the bonuses of both the leaderships. Which means, +3 to INT and +3 to AGI. Also, there is the plus 1 bonus if three characters, in succession, attack the same enemy. However, only the three characters, or more if more than three characters attacked the enemy in succession get the bonus. It might says something different in the rules, but for proof on the last part, just check Slaying the Spider, which is 2 south of Ruto Town, in case you didn't know.

Kuro screamed in pain from the blow that collided with his back. The blow was hard enough to knock him to the ground. He was breathing heavily and was beginning to lose hope in winning the battle. There were too many. How would the people protecting the castle going to defend it with the enemy's numbers?

As he stood up, everything seemed to be happening all at once. He felt the Nayru with them, and heard the voices of Orpheous and Shigure ring out in the air. They could win this. With all the extra help and the direction, they could win this. These monsters wouldn't get the best of Kuro, but he would defeat them.

He looked around for the magician Orpheous spoke of, soon finding him. Kuro took a deep breath. Then another one. Whatever he was doing wasn't comforting, but that clearly wasn't intended to comfort. Taking another deep breath, Kuro charged at the magician. Bringing his sword around his back, he swung it at the magician with killing intent.[Will=3]

OOC: Since you didn't know what will was the last time I used it, I'll go ahead and quote what it says in the rules set.
In every event, a character can use their willpower (SPI+Lvl, but your total is capped at 9) as a separate special chance modifier independent of the actual stat. That is, one can use their willpower pool to fudge their rolls to become more in their favor. If a character has 5 willpower, they can take a point or more of that and apply it to any chance to hit/dodge/skill check roll as a bonus. The pool is only available once per event, and once used up cannot be refilled for the rest of the event.
So in short, since I used three will, I would get +3 to my chance to hit.

Kasei smiled slightly as he incinerated a large group of enemies. The Rebel Flame, however, still had opponents. And, when one of them came at him with a spear, he had to think fast, and dodge to the side.

The man looked around in the struggle. This is bat-fudge insane. Not even the dark armies are stupid enough to stage this kind of attack on Hyrule Castle, too many people would get involved, too many generals would get involved. This must be a third-party attack, someone we don't know about. He thought to himself, as he heard Orpheous in the backround, telling everyone to attack some wizard.

Wait . . . wizard? Kasei got a good look around, and then spotted something that was best classified as a spellcaster. Kuro was already closing in. Kasei decided to give him backup, and pulled out his bow. "Take this." He said, and, aiming, let loose an arrow after the mage's head.

Alpha grins triumphantly as his Elemental Explosion hits its mark perfectly, almost exactly the way he had envisioned it would in his mind . . . almost. A twinge of annoyance disrupts the smile. 'He saw me too soon,' the Sheikah acknowledges with more than a bit of bitterness at the thought. Had it truly gone off flawlessly the magician would have been without warning and his concentration would likely have been shattered by the unforeseen impact.

The mage turns around as shock overrides annoyance, the sudden magical pressure in the air rushing outward and acting to effectively choke him with its power. It certainly is a powerful spell - 'I could have figured that out by the amount of time it appears to take to cast it, though.' - gathering up so many elements into a single strike that could hit anyone or anywhere. 'I certainly hope that someone's evacuated the Royal Family . . . these are Exiles we're facing, so the King and Princess should be prime targets.'

Yet even as these dark thoughts threaten to cloud his mind, a mystical melody seems to fill the air. He glances around, finally finding the bard responsible for playing the Spirit of Nayru: Aiden. 'Good call, girl,' he mentally praises, promising to get to know his fellow Sheikah later on if he gets the chance - always a good idea to have a bard backing you up in a battle, after all. And furthermore comes the yell from that Goron he does not know. Even from the stranger, the words strike a chord in his mind and make him focus on victory even more than before.

And then Orpheous takes command as well, screaming out their target. Well then, looks like others were coming in to try and claim his kill.

No one steals a kill from Wraith.

He leaps down from his rooftop and into the fray, keeping his eyes trained on the wizard - yet not allowing himself to be so distracted as to be hit by the barrage of arrows being launched every few seconds. As a wave comes in he swiftly dodges behind a stray barrel by the doorway of one of the households, only to spring up after the bolts have all whizzed past him and into the ground. His staff out, the Sheikah twirls it around like a lasso in his hands, raising it above his head as he approaches the magician -

And then he lets it fly into the face of a nearby foe, releasing it into the creature's forehead as he keeps running to his true target, drawing back his left hand as a Light Elemental Burst forms. With a roar he hurls it straight at the man, praying to the goddesses that it won't be blocked or avoided.
