"I heard your... outburst when that flute was playing," says Darilan. "Do you believe this woman may be a hidden entity, a shadow, saving you from the evil music? You said before that flute almost killed you. I presume that the woman's name is Melody, and she saves your life with a hidden tune."

"My outburst is more of a result of a...memory. The music in and of itself contains no magic. If not for my past, that tune would hold no special meaning for me.

"As for my take on it, I'm really not sure about any of it...my master did make many riddles, but he never gave me lessons on how to solve them. He's very sly with that kind of thing." Alpha scratches his head for a second. "Maybe we should start by figuring out what just one of the words could mean. Consider all the possibilities. Let's start with 'feminine'.

OOC: Julian, there's a literary term called feminine shadow? Wow. Talk about your coincindences.

Yes, I am saying, here and now, that that term has nothing to do with the riddle.

"She was hidden from sight until the Zora left. I can see that she is a woman who hides, so I can't see any meaning in 'feminine' other than it signifies that she is female. Is 'Melody' out of the picture?"

Walking on his way from the collecting the feathers that a young Rito is looking for, Raven sees a group of people many of which he recognises, but there is one that he has not seen before. As he walks closer he sees that they seem to be deep in thought, as if trying to work out one of the many of life’s mysteries.

Ravens curisoty takes over as he walks over to the group wondering what it is that has so many contemplating. As he gets nearer he hears Julian talk to the unknown Sheikah about a riddle.

'What is this riddle?' Raven asks as he joins the group. 'I may not be a Scholar, but sometimes too much thought goes into a simple problem.'

"I agree, complex minds are corrupt. You give it a try."

"Darilan, we're going to keep trying, but that is a good backup plan."

Alpha turns to Raven. "Hello, I don't believe we've met before. I'm called Alpha. As for the riddle...a woman told me that her name was 'the sound of the feminine shadow'. She told me that once I figured it out she would meet with me again. Any ideas?"

Raven gives Darilan a glance a his statement. 'Was that an insult or a compliment.' he thinks, but he decides not to think about it too deeply. As that was not the riddle he was interested in.

'Raven.' He simply states and he then repeats the riddle 'the sound of the feminine shadow.' He thinks for a moment and then says gingerly. 'This is probably not the answer but it makes sense to me, well slightly, could her name be Impa?

'The 'feminine shadow' could be a reference to one of the best known female Shiekah, as we are known as the Shadow Race, Impa.' He says hoping to explain himself.

OOC: But if it was Impa, wouldn't her sound be Zelda's Lullaby from OoT? Does that even exist in this game?

"You see? Simplicity is genious!" Darilan nearly yells out in excitement of Raven's answer.

OOC: I need to start getting my head into the Zelda world. Great answer, Red, right or not.

Alpha considers this suggestion for a second. "Although that does make some sense, I've never met a person named Impa. Like I told the others, she sounded like she was an old friend - one whose name I would probably recognize. My quick summary of the riddle didn't include that explanation. Sorry, my bad."

OOC: You know, looking back, one of the things I was thinking of naming her was, in fact, Impa. But I rejected it.

A suggestion that good warrants a hint. I really think if you guys figure out what I mean by 'feminine', it'll be easier. No, you haven't gotten it right yet.

And actually, I think Zelda's Lullaby would go best with Zelda. Since Impa's the Sage of Shadow, probably the Nocturne of Shadow would go with her best.

Julian quickly leaps up from his meditation and rushes to Alpha. "Could this girl's name be Romani," Julian says with a grin.

OOC:Romani seemed to always be in the shadow of her sister Cremia because of her sister being famed for their milk. She couldn't do much.She was always working with the cows. And she was Malon in Oot which always was singing that Epona song. And her name couldn't be Malon since there already is a Malon in this game.

Alpha shakes his head, a no. "Sorry, I can't recall anyone by that name either. And I'm normally pretty good with names.


OOC: Wow. Another really good idea. But no.

I'm serious, if you guys figure out what I mean by 'feminine', it'll really become clear(er). Maybe. Actually I'm really not quite sure now that I think about it...it's probably easier for me because I know the answer. But I really think you guys can do it!

Also, I probably should've put this after the Impa idea (sorry ), but the name isn't from any Zelda game, far as I know. Which is kinda far. Everything you need to know to answer it is in the riddle itself.

Another hint: You'll find it easier to understand the first hint if you've taken a foreign language. The one in particular that I got the idea from was Latin.

Anyway, I'm nearly ready for Part 4. I'm going to wait and give Weienw/Arco a chance to get back and look at it. If he can't get it, then I'll 'figure it out' on my own.

OOC: I was thinking that it might be from another language (I looked up feminine in the dictionary) but I couldn't figure out how it would fit. "Shadow" in Spanish is "Sombra," a feminine noun. There are no Spaniards in the Zelda world, so I doubt that is her name.

OOC: I think I know the name, but since my character isn't that knowledgeable it may be difficult to explain how he came up with the answer. Well, here goes...

IC: 'Umbra.' Raven says softly. He has been thinking about the riddle since his last answer was discounted. 'Umbra.' He says louder. 'Umbra could be her name, if I remember my correctly, umbra is ancient Hylian for shadow. He says confidently.

"The only Umbra I know is Malciore's enemy. Sorry."

OOC: Nope. Like I said, everything you need to know is in the riddle itself. And you have to figure out what feminine means. Shadowlink, you're on the right track, but you don't need to translate anything.
