Huh?

He just blatantly looked at Alpha as the mage spoke his own comments. No... not speak. He wasn't moving his lips or producing any sound, so he couldn't possibly be speaking up out loud something like that. Besides, that was not the 'style' of the Sheikah - for all the teenager knew, Alpha was more of the secretive type, even if he was a nice person. Telepathy? Highly unlikely. The Mage was able to use the Void in his favor and had many magical skills, but the junior mage believed that telepathy was not one of them. And besides, why would he send such telepathic waves? It's not something he'd say to someone who was side-by-side. That seemed more like... "Thoughts? We're hearing Alpha's thoughts?" - he spoke out loud. Considering the situation - being inside Alpha's mind and memories, and the Hakiems' rival not even moving his lips - this was the most possible situation, no matter how strange it seemed. Suddenly, a feeling of agony and annoyance settled on the teenager... though he was not sure why he was irritated. He had no reason to, as no-one had made anything offensive... unless it were Alpha's feelings resonating with his. Maybe they all were feeling this now? This nuisance? And then the mage 'spoke' again, confirming his beliefs. Alpha was annoyed.

And then, fate came up with another impossibility suddenly turned possible. The mage dashed at high speeds - comparable to wind or lightning - yet he seemed to ignore Tayro, who just stood there, unmoving, unsure what course to take. The junior, somewhat frightened with colliding with the elder, tried, obviously in vain, to shield his body with his arms and staff. He wasn't given a time to dodge, as Alpha came closer, and closer... until he passed right through the boy. A certain tickling sensation ran all over him, until the mage was out of him. It was weird, like a ghost had just passed right through him... though Alpha was no ghost. Then, a logical reason came to him, while Alpha single-handedly dispatched a lot of Hakiems with his spell. Although quite an exhibition, they were of the lowest type of Hakiems, as indicated by their handkerchief colors. Seems like paying attention to all those adventures with the assassin tribe does pay off. - he thought. Tayro seemed absorbed in thought, but Elenina wasn't all that phased and promptly replied to Blank. "I'm not sure, but the book said to look for the corruption. Though I don't know what that meant." The final reasoning that Tayro got was that all that was happening was because the persons present were not in this event, so they were all there as mere bystanders... they were the ghosts.

Though not the only ones.

After all that exciting pyro exhibition, in the explosion's stead was now a dark spherical hole on the ground, shadows swirling around it... as if it was some kind of portal. It proved to be just that, as three shadows flew from it, purple beings with claws. Three Shades, the same Nightmares they had battled outside were now in front of them. And they were real. Most real. Still, the portal remained open... until two other figures slowly came out. They had the body of a hunt dog, similar to the prestiged Dobberman species that were used by some countries in wars, yet they had some nightmarish features just like their counter-parts. For instance, their colour was of a very dark purple with an horizontal white stripe on their paws. Also, they seemed to possess a second exoskeleton, just above their skin... which didn't seem damaged at all. Their eyes were also blood red... as if they were raring for bloodshed. "Nightmare Canis" - Elenina commented, as they let out a terrifying howl.

Blank really didn't know what to think of the canine beast. Tayro, Nogare, Elenina, and Dogura would likely describe his feelings as panic and an unstable loss of thought processing, but to Blank it was merely... Well, he would refer to it as a “dangerous frenzy” and a “well laid out series of sword techniques.” He could try to cover up the truth of the matter, but anyone with a grain of sense would know that the aforementioned adventurers were correct. Not that it mattered; a victory brings the same amount of glory, no matter how it was achieved. Blank just liked to pretend his means were more heroic.

He began to sweat madly as he looked at the Canis. “A dog? Hah!” he laughed, masking his fear of the canine species. Recollection of a Doberman assault during a past campaign had left him shocked and holding a great grudge towards all of the mutts. Nah, not mutts. That Holybrume thingy back at North Castle seemed to be a manifestation of riches... like it had come from an empire of sorts. “I bet these are purebred Nightmares!” he stated triumphantly, as though he were merely speaking to himself. Anyone standing close to the nomad, however, could likely see his shock and fear.

It was then that the description of panic began. “I don't want to die to a stupid dog!” he bellowed in fright, drawing his swords as he now shook visibly. “Begone, 'Canis!'” he mocked, pointing his left weapon in the first canine's direction and taking off in a wild charge. Had he been standing any closer to Nogare, he likely could have injured the vassal greatly. Without considering the possibility, the Hylian charged on, reaching a shorter distance between himself and the Nightmares. Before, when it had been only Shades taking up the Nightmare frontline, Blank had been unafraid. Now this was truly a bad dream.

The sight of such an awkward, violet creature shocked him; why couldn't the beast be graceful, like the angels back at the Temple of Nayru? “I'll be sure to end your cursed life, mutt!” he screamed, swinging madly with both swords while completely forgetting the battle taking place around him. Like a whirlwind the twin blades of wood came flying fast. Blank hoped these dogs were not as agile as their shadowy physiques made them appear. He tried to pour a bit of his strong nomadic willpower into the attack, knowing that a little increased effort could make all the difference in a success, or a fail.

~Pyre was surprised. This falling sensation was far from what he had expect, but soon everything came back to earth, and the ranger was standing next to Alpha in a very strange situation. The surprise from before had dissapated to be replaced by another sensation. Fear.

It wasn't everyday that one was surrounded by an entire army of Hakiems. In fact, Pyre was sure that if it had happened, no one had survived to tell the tale. To make things worse, things weren't acting like they should. It seemed like Tayro just moved through Alpha. When he said this to himself in his head, it hit him.

This was a memory. After he tossed the idea around for a bit, it seemed common sense. They were in Alpha's mind, so of course they would see his memories. The hylian was jolted out of his thought process when Alpha sprang into motion, destroying a couple Hakiems where they stood, with an elemental explosion. A smile sneaked onto his face. It looked like Alpha was stilll incredibly powerful, even in the past.

As soon as he thought he had adjusted to this sudden change, Dogura started to move forward. Throughout all the time he had been in this strange dream, one thing hadn't changed. His caution. Who knew if the parts of the memories COULD hurt them or not, or if there were other evil aparations waiting in Alpha's mind. No, the ranger wasn't going to take a chance.

Pyralin leapt forward and grabbed the samurai's arm. "Wait! You don't know what will happen!" An aspect that nearly mirrored the fear from before filled him from trying to stop Dogura. He wasn't quite sure if the samurai would just attack him and then run on. The hylian could only hope, and pray to the goddesses that he would listen to reason.

For Pyre that moment seemed suspended in time, but all around, Hakiems were still moving. The battle was still going on. That created a very surreal effect, which seemed to be a prevelant theme in Alpha's mind.

Then something happened that made everything that seemed so important beforehand fall to dust. The nightmares were back, and it seemed that Dogura and him were in the front lines.

His scimitar and his dirk were out in an instant, and held out the ready in a defensive position. The creatures looked like dogs, but he knew that it wouldn't be as easy as killing ordinary dogs. Being a nightmare tended to change things. However, it looked like Blank wasn't thinging along the same lines. When the hylian heard the nomad ranting from behind him, he was slightly surprised, but didn't dare take his attention off the nightmares. Then Blank managed to surprise him anymore. Suddenly the nomad was rushing past him, and attacking franticly. From experience, Pyre had a feeling that he wouldn't be able to take out the nightmares from just crazed attacking.

Damn, why does everyone seem to be charging in without giving any thought to the situation. The ranger began running forward at once, to fight along in concert with the nomad. Pyralin was a little worried that Blank would cut him, along with anything else that got in his way, but he was willing to take that chance. The hylian wasn't here to attack anyways. Instead, he stood at the ready to intercept any attack that may come Blank's way, while letting him do all the hacking.

All the while, he couldn't help but think. If these nightmares are here, in Alpha's mind, does that mean that he has already sucumbed to the nightmare crest? Plus, if these could be here, does that mean another nightmare general could be here? Might they even have to fight a nightmare Alpha? The questions nearly distracted him, but he pulled himself back to the situation. Now it was time to help Blank. Later would be time to think about saving Alpha.~

((SORRY THIS IS DELAYED AS HELL!

FIXED!))

OOC: Boy, its late... but I said I would post, and by golly, I'll post!

...okay, so I don't do half the things I say I'll do, but I happen to be wide awake :)

IC: Dogura seemed to notice the swirling black hole at the same time Tayro had, and stopped dead in his tracks, wheeling around, and staring at it. Before he had time to speak words of warning, beasts began flying from the portal. One, in particular caught Dogura's attention. Elenina stated that it was a Canis. Regardless of whether or not it had a name, Dogura had a perfectly fitting name for it. A monster. It was obviously hostile, the samurai decided, as he drew his sword, which just so happened to be glowing! Dogura stared at it in awe. It only does this when... Ahh.. I see. We're within Alpha's mind. With such familiar, yet potent power in the air, its natural that the sword sends off warning signals... Dogura knew well that his father's sword gave off warning signals when either a great power was present, or a tough decision was to be made.

Staring the canis right in the eye, he expected it to lunge at him. It seemed blood-thirsty, and impatient at that. He would have attacked it, but then something happened that caught Dogura a bit off guard. Blank had already shot off in it's direction, blades held as if ready to kill. Such bravery was... not often witnessed from the nomad. Dogura smirked. It seems as if you're always so clumbsy, and akward... yet when it comes down to buisness, you manage to impress all bystanders. Even Dogura had faltered at the beast's glare. "You're one hell of a mystery Blank..." Dogura muttered, and smiled, just before removing his own secondary weapon: the wolf-head dagger. Dogura had been practicing with his daggar, and was ready to put the training to use! Dogura sized up his opponents, and knew the Shades to be a bit weaker than normal nightmare based enemies.

Dogura gathered his nerve, and ignored the Canis. Blank was already on one of them. Dogura has had a fear of dogs, ever since he was attacked by one when he was a child. The vagabond drew out his attack pattern in his head, and prepared. In an extremely fast motion, he got into an attack stance, and took off straight for the weakest shade, and thrusted his sword forwards, bringing his daggar around the side. If all went how he practiced, this attack would end a battle, or make it close. He called the attack "Twin Fang". He had also devised an attack that would surely kill the opponent, called "Twin Fang: Koume and Kotake". However, that attack would require his blades to be dipped in two seperate poisons. Something he wasn't carrying with him at the moment. And a Shade is undeserving of such a brilliant technique. If Dogura's accuracy was true, this would nearly demolish the nightmare where it was. OoC: Since Pyre did it, I think this is a good time to introduce you to a new command that can be issued here in my storyline. Cover.
Upon a successful Speed Check ([Roll+AGI], must be superior to 15 to pass), the character can select an ally to guard from incoming attacks, taking the damage instead.
Interesting, no?

IC:

Blank's wild strikes, however many they might had seemed, were proven not quite accurate, as the devilish hound managed to escape the attack pretty much unscathed... until the Nomad applied a great part of his Willpower to hit the canine, which in fact, did just the trick(7+2+3[Roll+AGI+Will]). The Canis, not expecting the sheer brutality of the twin sword strike, is pushed down on to the floor firstly, then thrown away, turning to a purple mist as it came collapsing. One Nightmare down, four Nightmares to go.

Unfortunately for Blank, the other Canis did not like such exhibition of power, destroying his peer. The beast growled, and then dashed quickly across the dusty floors of the Flats, paw after paw, towards the Grunt. Pyre's attempt to provide cover for his friend failed (2+5[Roll+AGI]), as the fiendish Nightmare's speed was too much unexpected and fast to be able to act upon. The creature lunged itself at Blank's leg, its large and pointy teeth digging deep into his flesh (18+8[Roll+AGI]), taking away 6 HP from the Nomad. The hound then removed his maw from the leg, and dashed away, before a counter could be issued...

...only to turn back again to repeat the same move. It was fast, and with his dazzling Feral Swiftness, he was out to kill again.
Feral Swiftness - Passive

Allows the user to attack twice in a turn.
Once again did the beast run wildly, and once again did it manage to place its bare teeth firmly in Blank's skin, this time, the other leg (13+8[Roll+AGI]), dealing another 6 DMG to the frightened warrior. Letting out a ghastly howl as it returned to its original position, it seemed like the creature was sneering at he Grunt.

And speaking of ghastly, Dogura had already moved onwards, twin weapons in hand ready to hack away one of the Shades. And hack away he did (5+6[Roll+AGI]), the sword piercing right through the ghostly being and the dagger slicing further, dealing it a hefty 16 DMG, although somehow it remained living... and not that content. Immediately did the creature retaliate, its claws lunging at the samurai... but failing to touch him (15+4[Roll+AGI]), the samurai successfully backing away on time.

Tayro: 53 HP
Blank: 29 HP
Dogura: 61 HP
Nogare: 91 HP

Shade #3: 18 HP

~Pyre was watching carefully, but he wasn't expecting the sudden burst of speed from the Canis, and winced as Blank was bitten, not once but twice. He decided to deal out his own retribution right there, and took the few steps to close the distance between himself and the nightmare mutt.

He was thinking of a different method of dispatching of the hound, and wasn't sure it would work, but otherwise it would be a powerful attack and pretty fun to pull off at the same time.

To start, Pyre moved even closer, past blade range and into his arm's reach. This was one of the two parts where things could go wrong. If the beast spun and scratched him, he would have no chance to block or parry, plus it would be a close range powerful attack.

Despite this risk, the ranger moved into the next part of his attack. Putting his hand on the creatures back and using that to lift himself into the air, over the Canis's back, and feet pointing upwards. In this precarious position, he slashed at the things neck with his scimitar, and hoped that the cut would hit directly.

It would be very easily for the nightmare to move out of the way, but the attack was based off surprise. Pyre hoped that the hound was too startled to react fast enough, otherwise he would find himself in a dangerous situation: on the ground, stunned and surrounded. The hylian had already seen the speed of the beasts up close, and knew there was a high chance of failure, so he prepared himself for the sudden jolt of hitting the ground.~

Cutting deep into the shade's health, Dogura dodged it's counter attack, and landed a few meters away from it. Scanning over the area around him, he decided that he didn't like the way that the Shade on the left was eyeing him. These things will be problematic later. I'll deal with this one in one shot.

Clasping his hands together, he began the usual process of heating his own body temperature, and building up gasses in his lungs. After a short time he was ready to attack. Practicing with this technique, Dogura has found that he has been completing the process faster and faster every time. Ten seconds was all it took. Reaching into the pack on his hip-sack, he removed a fine powder, which had come to be known as a deadly weapon in the hands of a certain samurai.

Finally, Dogura exhaled, sending a blaze of fire sailing into the air. With the fire in the air, the samurai moved his hands, seeming to control the fire with the little magic he has. It formed into a single streaming blaze of fire, and sailed right for Shade#3. The flame, only intensifying as it grew closer closed in on the shade, and was about to strike.

OOC: This is really just the fire scroll, in a creative way, as you probably already know. It fires off 18 damage I believe, so its just enough to take care of a shade.

A loud cry erupted forth from his mouth as his brain came out of shock and processed the excessive pain caused by the fangs of what Elenina had called a Canis. Blank winced and yelped horribly as he felt around his leg area, feeling the warmth of his blood soak his fingertips. The charge of the dog had knocked him back, and he laid there, leg twitching in pain while he tried his hardest to stand. Wiping the now reddened fingers on the ground and using the grit of the plateau's rocks to clean away the offensive, he pushed himself up off the ground and wiped himself down, shaking the dirt off of his clothing and mentally shaking off the torturous bite's infliction.

And so, of course, his hatred for such an beast was only doubled when he looked up, only to stare the same Canis in the eyes. He scarcely had a chance to yell out a surprised “Whoa!” when it sank its already bloody fangs into his other leg. “Agh!” he whimpered, falling to one knee and swiping a fist at the mutt as it retreated. He missed, of course, and vowed silently to end this creature born of darkness as well. His allies could probably tell by the distorted, shocked expression on his face that the bite of a Canis was not a favorable experience. He was leaking blood from both legs now, and most would find standing to be an unbearable maneuver by that point.

However, Blank was determined to fend off the canine and managed to walk. Each step brought on a rush of pain, with the first few being the worst of these. As he moved, and practiced the motion, it became easier, and his legs became accustomed to the pain. However, the gaping flesh wounds continued to bleed, and he would not be able to keep this up for long. In a sense, it was like learning to walk for the first time, but a second time. Blank grimaced at this thought; this was not the time for learning childhood mechanisms again!

“Alright... Canis... Where'd it - There it is...” he spoke aloud, scanning the field for signs of the retreating Canis. The Hylian glanced at his swords, the slayers of the previous dog. He knew they longed to be driven into the hide of the villainous creatures. Blank would not deny them this right. Without warning, or even consideration of Pyre's already in motion assault on the hound, Blank too made his attack. Bringing his left-hand sword upwards in a full vertical arc, he made a perpendicular slash with his right-handed weapon, hoping that by utilizing the two dimensions in question he could strike more accurately. The worst case scenario would be that he would hit Pyralin. But Hyrule had too many rangers as it was.

(((OOC: I hate you Blank  . We rangers are sorely under-talented in the current ruleset, so you can't talk.

Also, Dogura. Did you make this "creative method" because of my TotD thing )))

(((OOC: Wrong again Dogura. It wasn't originally created in TotD. BWAHAHAHAAAHAHA. Actually it was in the cursed masks where I used it to enshroud my sword in fire and I THOUGHT of the idea WAY before June :P )))

OOC: Well, since Tayro isn't going to be around for a while, I don't think he'd mind if I took over the GMing of this fight. Only this fight, though; after that we all will just have to wait for his return again.

IC:
With Alpha backflipping, spellcasting, and jaw crushing Hakiem after Hakiem in the background, Pyralin suddenly sprints forward towards the second Canis, leaping over it with gymnastic grace and skill. However, the beastly Nightmare had managed to see the Hylian coming and was already moving to dodge the attack when the unexpected leap into the air was performed. It had been preparing to leap backwards and away from the Ranger's blade, but now found pressure being pressed against its back. Its footing had already been positioned to allow him to swiftly move, however, so it simply stretched out its form as if it was a dog yawning after awakening from a long nap, and the sword whizzed by its neck without touching or harming the Canis (4+5[Roll+AGI]).

Snarling, the Nightmare swiftly dispels any further comparisons that could be made between it and a sleepy puppy. Ruby eyes glowing in fierce outrage at having been made Pyre's target, it lunges forward at the boy, teeth ready to tear into the Ranger's skin and bones. But then, from out of nowhere emerges that Nomad from before . . . and that is the last thing it knows as Blank's blades give a repeat performance, tearing apart the Canis with the same viciousness it had intended to show to Pyralin (10+2[Roll+AGI]). Even before Blank hits the ground, the beasts has disappeared into violet smoke, which soon vanishes from sight as well.

Dogura's fireworks show is what really captures the attention of all the Nightmares gathered around. All of the dark creatures recoil at the light given off by the murderous flames, the third one not realizing until it is far too late that their relentlessly destructive intent has been turned upon it. In one bright flash of light the inferno shoots outward and ensnares the Shade, consuming it completely and without mercy (5+1[Roll+SPI]). As the fire dissipates, it reveals that there is no trace left of its prey. And, as an added bonus, with Elenina fluttering throughout the region, her Spell Abode ability lessens the cost of the spell.

Of course, the other Shades aren't exactly happy with that turn of events, and the second immediately charges the Hylian, its own murderous intents gleaming in its glowing golden eyes. Leaping at the samurai, it comes within inches before Dogura pulls away from its claws (16+4[Roll+AGI]). Luckily, the swordsman has the privilege of dodging out of the way and watching as the Shade leaves itself completely open for several precious seconds.

Finally, the first and weakest of the remaining Nightmares spurs into action, leaping towards Blank with the intention of avenging its fallen companions. Of course, it's so weak now that it doesn't even come close to slashing through the Nomad's defenses (5+4[Roll+AGI]).

OOC: Gahh!Image I never saw that before! It insulted me that you would think that I would copy your idea.

Dogura's flames spread like wildfire among the shades. Many of them, to the samurai's disappointment, had managed to escape the inferno. However, for one of them, one of the less alert Shades in the pack that is, was completely consumed within the fires that churned it into nothingness. Realizing that he wasn't as fatigued as he normally was after conjuring the heat within him, he pondered on what could have possibly been different. Before he had time to think the issue moreover, the shadowy brethren were seeking revenge for their incinerated comrade. Dogura's eyes widened, as one of the remaining shade leaped from it's position, targeting none other than the man responsible. It was quick, but Dogura was quicker. He skipped back, barely dodging the Shade's attack. A look of disgust appeared on Dogura's face. How could I even let that thing get so close? I've been slacking...

It took Dogura a few moments before it registered that the shade was now wide open for an attack! Dammit! What is the matter with me? Shake it off Dogura, just shake it off. You're still Dogura Shadowclaw, prince of the Shadowclaw empire! Reassuring himself, he gripped his sword tightly. Something inside of him peeked out for a moment, as a dark purple aura surrounded him, but only for a split second. Dogura winced, and the aura dissipated into the air as quickly as it had formed. Recoiling in time to attack the shade once more, he darted forward to where he previously stood, and brought his sword up from below, slashing at the Shade's underside, and intending to cut upward through it's... membrane. He wasn't sure how to label it's body parts, but he knew one thing for sure. It would die if it were cut, just like any other being.

OOC: Way to stay with it Alpha! 8) I wish I could make this post a bit longer, but alas... I must complete my own task, and fulfill my own destiny... which right now, is to head to the grocery store =P
I may edit when I get back.

Blank was feeling excellent. Sure, he was stuck inside of a mysterious Sheikah's mind, had been severely bitten by the same Canis in one go, and was growing hungry to boot. But he had slain that Canis, and he stood perfectly still for a few moments, allowing the others to jump in and defeat the Shades. As all attention focused back on the battle, and was assuredly not directed at himself, Blank felt a need to express his satisfaction over his small-time victory.

Blank Fireside did a little victory jig.

Before he could embarrass himself further, the nomad directed his sight to the one remaining Shade. Or at least, the only remaining Shade that was not already being assailed. He glanced between the two, and wondered which was weaker. It didn't really matter to him, because he could easily take out one or the other with a single attack. The real problem was solely Dogura's. One Shade had more health than the other. Dogura could easily take out the weaker of the pair, but did his attacks really have what it would take to deplete the stronger Shade's pool of health?

Bah. It wasn't a problem for Dogura. The samurai was as powerful as everyone else in Alpha's mind at the moment, and Blank didn't dare to deny that. In a cutthroat situation with Dogura, he knew that the ranger would have him schooled. He laughed off this meager thought and focused on the task at hand: killing this Shade, whether it be stronger or weaker than the one his friend had taken off after!

Bolting off after the sole Shade, Blank bent low and arced an arm in front of his chest, and the other was arced behind his back. These held his swords, of course, and so he looked like a child's action figure bent low for an attack in some impossible pose. True enough to that fact, Blank had never performed this 'move'. Hoping for the best, he heaved outwardly and spun around, bringing his arms out further in a full stretch as he twirled. It was a simple dual-wielded spin attack at its core, but swords were too heavyweight to just hold in hand and spin with. Blank had needed perfect balance, and hoped that his technique proved favorable.

Alpha's struggles with the Hakiems Tribe that enveloped him continued, successfully
eliminating many of their ranks. A little farther on were other adventurers fighting the same group, but in this massive influx of Sheikah, it was impossible to say who they were. With a blow of his staff, Alpha decimated yet another Hakiem, besides the little group of dream-tappers, ignoring them completely. And if the group wants to emerge victorious, they best do the same as well. Although all his dexterity hasn't
returned from the sudden approach of the Shade before, while facing such a weakopponent, Dogura has n trouble in advancing in its direction and effectively cutting the creature in half (3+6[Roll+AGI]) only to have its vapour-like body reform back, though not without having received a dent of 9 DMG on its... spirit? That could be the most reasonable explanation... as a gaseous body can't have damage, right? It tried to counter, but its attempts to scratch the samurai were in vain - the attack had rendered the creature weakened (4+4[Roll+AGI]).

Blank also seemed on a roll - perhaps due to the happiness that his greatest fear had been eradicated, perhaps he was executing a new, dangerous and powerful technique, or maybe because the opponent was just plain weak, his new move proved most effective, spreading the creature's body all over the area (2+8[Roll+AGI]) and effectively taking the last ounce of its life. Quickly enough does the Shade turn into a purple smoke, leaving the one sole comrade behind.

But who said this wasn't over yet? Now was Tayro's time to spring into action. Gaining momentum as to find out a time where he could find his opponent weak - which would be now - the boy prepared his magical energies to fully take the foe out and finish this fight. The regular ritual proceeded - he spun his staff counter-clockwise, drew a star shape, and then collided with the rune. Once again did Elenina's magical ability aided them, a magical ounce of the attack being given by it instead of the boy's own. "Elemental Burst! Fire!" - he yelled, the glyph twisting itself into an energy sphere, containing fiery tongues with the desire to lick the remaining enemy. And slobber the Shade it did - the Nightmare didn't have a chance to reply as it was fully consumed by the fire, the only thing remaining being a purple smoke that quickly dissipated. The fight was finally over... at least theirs.

However, if the adventurers were hoping to leave the memory after the battle, they were... inaccurate. Even if they were to look around them, there was no doorway like before. Maybe they had missed something?

Blank jumped back and sheathed his swords, dirtied though they were, and ducked into a fetal position to avoid getting any of the mystifying purple haze on his clothing or skin, and he especially wanted to avoid the risk of inhaling the gaseous material. The idea of absorbing a Nightmare's very essence as it escaped into open air was not a pretty thought by any means, and it caused a shiver to run down the Hylian's spine as he stood to his feet and brushed the rocky earth of the highlands from his pants.

It was then that he began to feel hungry. Wait, was it actually hunger? No, no, it couldn't have been. When Blank was hungry, his stomach began to shift and growl noisily like a famished Wolfos, something he deemed to be the norm amongst all of the world's humanoid races. This phenomenon of science was just not happening, however, and so he assumed the worst: He had taken quite the beating from that infernal Canis creature. Blank's legs throbbed painfully as he rubbed them nervously, trying desperately to caress some feeling back into them. That is, some feeling aside from anguished torment. No such luck; this nomad required sustenance.

Looking behind him, he watched as Alpha took out more and more oncoming Hakiems. How the Sheikah managed to avoid even a minor scratch with hundreds of trained and skilled assassins surrounding him was beyond Blank. Here he stood, unable to even defend himself from a dog. In comparison to Alpha, Blank was an ashamed man.

Whatever, he thought sullenly, kicking a hefty chunk of rock, despite the pain endured as his leg was moved. Right, onward to energy! It was a plain open field, and was also an illusionary recreation of a previous event, but there had to be a few hearts around somewhere. And Blank was the only one qualified enough to find said hearts if the did exist. Such a quality is what classified Blank as a nomad, and he took pride in knowing this. Perhaps if he could find more than enough, he would share. But... did anyone else even need energy at the moment? He hoped not, and diligently resumed his search. [L3 Find Sustenance]

As he moved along, he fumbled around with the item in his pocket. It intrigued him that such a pretty little thing had belonged to one of the Shades outside of Alpha's mind. In addition to his hunt for replenishing items, he was sure to keep an eye out for those as well. He based their unknown purpose off of the benefits having plenty of Rupees, and also saw similarity in reinforcements arriving in battle -- the more the merrier! [Awareness Check]

Blank was still watching Alpha battle, when something odd caught his mind. He continued to scope the area for hearts and shards, but remarked to the group in passing. “You know, either this place distorts color, or there was an extra rank of Hakiems at the time of this battle. Since when are there ever purple handkerchiefs in their armadas?” Blank brought to light this question in a tone that made it quite clear that he had already thought of an obvious answer. “Never! What gives?”
