On the road that runs by a family farm stands Queitar Nommerd. The Boss told him to stand here, and he made no objections. He did question in his mind as to why Lord Wyndisis sent him to do the job. He didn't have much to do, ever since his crew finished working on the lighthouse on Parapa.
With him was Karn, or as he Wyndisis called him, The Doomgiver. Karn is the ultimate weapon among the Dark Acolytes. He is covered with flexible armor, wields two swords, and wears a long black cape. His fuel is pure hatred.
Wyndisis could be cruel, he'd observed, but he could give a hell of a reward. Well, that reward was just a nice vacation after the completion of the lighthouse, and he needed it. There was something he didn't get away from on his vacation, the sun. He got more sun on vacation than he did in the desert doing his savior's work. His bald head showed it too. What is normally a smooth pale head was now burnt red and peeling away.
He has one job, stand here, and wait for a particualar person. He needed to find a Deku by the name of Pende. Wyndisis wants him to become one of the Dark Acolytes. Recently, he, as well as Lord Wyndisis, has observed that Deku shrubs are quite capable, as soldiers and other things. He was looking for someone to run the underground prison.

The tiny Deku was walking down the path near a farm he had seen many times, all the while ignoring it, thinking it was probably just the home of some low-down farmer, that's when he saw the man. Noticing the man's peeling head, the Deku restrained a laugh, and wondering how someone peeled off their skin like that. Or made it change to that hue. He had always had dark green leaves no matter what he did. He wondered if that was the man's style, distract people with his head growths. He realized in his blind thinking he had just approached the man a lot closer than his comfort zone. So he froze, be invisible, he'll just ignore you. Less than ten feet from Queitar, sweat formed on his brow, and began running down his forehead, don't move, sweat, ahhh! His eyes catch those of the man, and he begins to feel very vulnerable, small, insignificant. He's not going to kill me is he? "Are you... gonna, kill me?" He squeaks out, hoping that it is returned with a big stamped negative.

Queitar turns his eyes down to the Deku that creeped up on him. That can't be Pende, the one they are looking for. Lord Wyndisis didn't give much of a description, but something told him it wasn't him. He might as well ask though. "Are you Pende Bloodmoss?" asks Queitar.

Pende was walking down the path. It was such a relief to be out of the desert. One may get used to living there, but a desert could never beet a forested area with the right mix of sunlight and shade. The wierd zora told Pende to come down around here and someone would meet me. Pende wanted to make a good impression, so before he left, he cleaned his tattered robe, and sterthced as tall as possible. Pende wanted to make himself as imposing as possible, no easy task for a deku. Pende walks down the path, swaying left and right. He was geting closer to his destination when he saw two strange men talking to Grenda.
"Are you Pende Bloodmoss?" asks Queitar.
Pende: Excuse me, sir! I'm Mr. Bloodmoss. That there is my friend Grenda.
Pende swayed over to Grenda.
Pende: Hello, Grenda, what brings you here?
Turning his attention to the bald man, Pende speaks...
Pende: Hello, sir. A zora in the desert told me to meet someone around here, would you happen to be him?

Yeah, he's Pende. He turns to Pende. [ You're Pende... I thought your name was Ideyotashi. Anyway, I was just traveling down this road and saw that guy. Did you notice his head, his useless human flesh is styled in a grotesque way. Then, I thought he might kill me so I stopped. Do you know who he is? ]
"As for what I was doing... Not much, just traveling, then I found this guy and thought he might kill me." He gives a brief glance at the man avoiding the head. "Yes, I am Grenada. Do you need anything done? I am Hyrule's greatest Mercenary."

(In Deku): hee hee. Ideyotashi is my Deku name. When I was a servant for a hyrulian noble family, they renamed me Pende. I'm rather used to the new one. yeah, that guys head is pretty gross looking. I'm not really sure who he is thoguh. Some wierd zora I met in the desert told me to go here because someone will be waiting for me.

Grenada twists his head as he listens to Pende, ignoring the men in their presence [What would you rather have me call you? And would you like me to stay in case these guys turn on you? ]

(In Deku): "Pende will do, I'm more used to it. You're free to stay, if you wish. Protection is always good, and who knows, they might have an intresting offer for you as well."

[ OK, Pende, I will stay, just in case. Also, I think these gentlemen may grow suspicious if we continue talking in Deku, it may be best if we stop for now. ] He suggests, because this chatter may be angering the two large men, and he didn't really want a battle. So his attention jumps to Queitar and Karn as he asks them "What brings you two gentlemen to this part of Hyrule? Is that your farm?" Hoping that was the case, but in his heart, he believed they had an alterior motive, but no matter. He and Pende were there, nothing bad would happen.

"That place over there," Queitar nods to the farm, "is the Dent Family Farm. I don't know when they built it, but it was here when I got back."
He looks to the one that identified himself as Pende. "Lord Wyndisis has told me that you have expressed intrest in The Dark Acolytes. He is eager to speak with you."

Pende: He did? But, I met him in the desert a while ago, and he tole me to come here. Why did he send me away if he wanted to talk to me? Or is he on his way here? Well, which ever the case, you tell me what all this 'dark acolyte' stuff is about? I'm curious about it, but I'm not to knowlegable on the subject.

Queitar's voice drops down in volume. It becomes a bit stern. "Some advice for you - don't ask why Wyndisis does things; don't question his motives." His voice goes back to normal. "There is always a reason."
OOC: Can anybody from HA1 remember anything about Queitar's story? I remember he was 'saved' by Wyndisis, but not all the details. I am not positive but I believe that his parents died from a disease.

OOC: Sorry, I wasn't around for the first one, so I don't know Q-man's stpry.

Pende: I see...I apologize for my rudeness. But, I digress, what are the Dark Acolytes? What is thier purpose? What kind of activities do they engage in? Is it profitable? Are they exiles or gangers? I'm sorry, if I'm asking too many questions, I just want to know what I'm geting into here. I'm intrested in joining, I just wish to know more.

"Oh no, don't worry. You weren't being rude. But anyway, we Dark Acolytes are an organization founded on this ability Lord Wyndisis. He saved us all from corruption, or something like that. The knowledge of the Black Flame, the burning concentration of evil within, and the power for him to show us how to control it is what started it all.
"I still remember when he saved me." Queitar's face lights up a bit. "My parents were killed by a disease. It was horrible," from the brightness it begins to dim, "it was uncureable. It killed them both. I was only a boy then. For nineteen years, I was a sniveling thief. My hate kept me alive, but I was miserable. I was so angry at the goddesses. They cursed my family! That disease they had, there was nothing like it... ever. Then he came along. And he told me that the hate in me was a parasite eating its way out. I would be dead, and the darkness with me. But I could use the darkness as a weapon," he nods, "I could use it for my benefit. And I do. It keeps me alive, and I am strong." His face lights up again. "For that, I am gracious, and I owe him."

"Hmmm," Pende thought. "A shelter for the wayward. If I were a member of this guild I would be excepted in it. Malnipulating darkness sounds very useful. Others may cower in it's might, I shall embrace it, and make it serve my means."
Pende: Intresting.... A final question: does affiliation to any particular faction affect membership? Do you accept, knights, gangers, and exiles? Or are some factions excluded from membership?
