In the small Stock Pot room Darilan sits at the table with his book planted flat in front of him. As he reads over the pages, he teeters back and forth in the chair with wobbly legs.
Soh... It... ... vasque... stab... vasquen... stabbing... vasques... stabbed........ Hmm...
Mes corten soh mattah sicas... This ugly Roc flew.
To Darilan's surprise, the language comes to him quite easily. It gives him the chills, knowing what language it is. He starts to speak it aloud, forming sentences as he skims over the individual word translations.

Walking away from the Hylos Family Estate and its trophy-laden walls, Arco finds his way into the Stock Pot Inn. His attention drawn to the Scribe at the table, not far away, he almost involuntarily takes several steps towards Darilan.
Peeking at the book over the other Sheikah's shoulders and doing his best to make his sense out of the spoken words, Arco remains silent... quiet... or...
Wait a minute... does that say 'Dek Muntonas' in the corner? Wah!?
"Is that Infernal?" cries Arco all at once, his voice a loud whisper. "The darrrk tongue of Death Mountain? Some of the Gorons... but--so, ah, dificult... learn..." His voice breaking up, the Bard looks at Darlian expectantly.
OOC: HAHA you're conjugating! That's excellent! Reminiscent of Spanish, maybe? Although, if I may be so bold... if I may offer an "Infernal Speak" tip, from what we see in the Rules Set. That is, it seems that the way Narrator translated from Common to Infernal was to basically just twist the words a little.
Allows you to read and speak the damned tongue of the depths of Death Mountain.
“Krare trenactum de sprek Dek Muntonas.”
Dek = Death?
Muntonas = Mountain?
Sprek = Speak (i.e. 'tongue'?)
De = "of" or "the"?
Though I expect you noticed that, too ^^. Thoughts?

Darilan responds to Arco while he is still focused on studying, making him sound like he is talking to himself. "Ocha sais nescoy, Arco?" How are you doing, Arco? Then he says like normal, "Did I say that right?" as he pulls his nose out of the book. "Hey, Arco. I'm learning a new language. Infernal, you think it will come in handy?
OOC: Yep, I was basing that on Spanish verb conjugations. I looked at Narrator's sample in the rules set and I swear I did not see the "Dek Mutonas" until you pointed it out .

His mouth twists slightly, effectually drawing a puzzled look on Arco's face.
Something something... "Arco"? Er...
"Ah, um, yes. Very good," says Arco, recovering with a random response. "That sounds very good, Darilan," he adds, though not quite qualified to judge. His mind dances wildly within a still body.
He has already learned Infernal, to this much of an advanced extent!? And only from a book, seemingly with almost no contact with the Goronic, first? Maybe he will teach me someday...? I don't know. I, ah, ehe... truly, the Deadliest Scribe I have ever met, then...
"Yes," concedes Arco finally. "Infernal is a very... powerful tongue. Not uncommon South'ward--I think even some of the Gorons there know some..."
OOC: Well, hopefully that'll make your life easier. You know, translating some of the more distinct words like "destruction" or "sword" into "derukon" and "worasakd" or something... just having fun with it, I guess *grin*.

"Thank you, Arco. This is coming to me quite easily. Do you know how to speak any Infernal? I am asking 'cause you seem like the kind of person who would."

Arco nods slowly.
"Speak Infernal? Most people that speak--natively--are not very... friendly."
His mouth moves inaudibly for a moment as he waves a pale-skinned arm towards South, Southwest direction.
"But maybe some of the Gorons in Death Mountain, or even in Saria, might be able to provide some... conversation?"

I would not learn the tongue of demons save by gravest necessity. Speak it not in my presence, if you please!
(Aside) I am so reminded of one particular episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, where the character of Xander Harris says "Librum Incente" and a book starts burning.

"Darilan, I don't pretend to understand why you would want to learn that language, but it is your choice. Perhaps it shall one day be useful to you. I may learn it eventually, after mastering all the others," Alpha says with a grin.

Why does Arthur come into my personal space and ask me not to speak a certain language? I can curse no one with it. All it is is words, a bunch of sylables that is different from the common Hyrulean tongue only in that it is prefered be demonic races of Death Mountain. Darilan burrows into his studying.
He hears Alpha and says to Arthur and him, "I shall not use it unless it is of grave nescessity. If that time comes, I will be ready. At least one of us should know it."

As Arco's eyes darken, he takes a step back and lifts one hand to his forehead, as if feeling for his temperature. You hear the quietest sniff, as his voice cracks into a sentence.
"Wh--...while Infernal is a dark and deeper tongue, speaking it does not make you a bad person. Plenty of bad people speak..."
Arco pauses, searching for an example.
"...Ancient Hylian," he finishes lamely. His stature droops noticeably.
Not really what I meant to say...

Alpha raises his eyebrow upon hearing Arco's...metaphor. It's not a very good one...
He returns his attention to Darilan, considering his last statement. "Yes, it is definately wise to be prepared for all situations. Knowing Infernal may one day save many lives; for example, if a sign written in Infernal warns you of a trap or false wall or something."

"You are right, Arco. Bad people will speak what they speak. I am devoted to protecting Hyrule. The languages I speak do not change that."
To Alpha he says, "I honestly cannot think of a situation where I would have to use it, but I will be ready to use it. Why, I might be able to get answers from a Daria held at swordpoint."
