Somewhere at the edge of the Deku Woods, a steady kickup of dirt and grass flew into the air. The creature worked madly, in a daze. Already it was below the surface, and it would not be long before it came to the bedrock. It could still smell its target. Further and further it continued to dig.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Radley stared up at the castle as he waited silently, allowing Dogura to regain his senses. As Rose stepped through the portal, he nodded nonchalantly and returned his gaze to the castle. They had not come to the exact spot, as he had intended, but had instead landed a short distance from the destination. This was all that Rope's fault! It's petrifying and poisonous venom had stunned his sense of direction, and had caused both Radley and Rose to transport themselves to an incorrect location! The archer cursed its very existence and wished he had been able to kill it where it slithered. Alas, it was gone now.
Hauling the samurai to his feet, the hooded bowman pointed a gloved finger towards the castle. “That's where we're headed, Dogura. Myst Wolfeye is somewhere in that looming monolith. We'd best hurry. We're in enemy territory.” He shuddered audibly, not wanting to have any more run-ins with the creatures he had grown to hate. Turning to Rose, he gestured towards the only clear path. Littered with old debris and rubble, the road led up and around through this district to a large bridge, but there was a good distance between where they stood and said bridge. One question was obvious: Why not just teleport again? Simple. Radley and Rose both knew very well the mysteries of the power they wielded freely. This was not just a toy for them to be lazy and grow fat with. Besides, one never knew the side effects of using such a method. It was always best to save that for emergencies.
Sighing heavily, Radley murmured a quiet “Sorry" to Dogura and began the trek through the wrecked ruin, beckoning for the other rangers to follow his lead. A line of sweat beaded his forehead; he could sense those that preyed were watching the trio.
Rose left Radley to the blaming of why they didn't appear where they wanted to be. She merely tugged her hood back up while looking to the ceiling of the cavern, wishing she was still above ground, but getting the poison out of her system if it was still in it was a tad bit more important to her right now. When her head came back down, Radley was pointing out the way. Almost as if she was also a newcomer. "Thank you for pointing the way for me," she said, her voice laden with sarcasm. "I never would have guessed the way to the castle I've been living in for three years." As she began walking, a bad mood finally set in, caused by being back underground after a far too short journey up to the surface and having to deal with Radley's unexplained hatred towards her.
Dogura found himself on the ground. it was uncomfortable... He slowly felt something tug him to his feet, and he barely managed to stand. His eyes wandered. Where the hell am I?... What happened? Suddenly, he spewed fluids all over the ground. His stomached panged with discomfort. He wiped the remaining fluids from his mouth, and looked around. It was dark. It looked as if he were in a gigantic cavern. His stomach still churned within him, as he felt, again, like throwing up. He jumped in shock, as an unexpected voice broke the airwaves.
“That's where we're headed, Dogura. Myst Wolfeye is somewhere in that looming monolith. We'd best hurry. We're in enemy territory.”
The samurai spun around on one heel, and went to grab his sword, but he grasped only air. His eyes rested on the man he had met previously. Suddenly, the memories of the Rope, Radley, Rose, and the portal came rushing back to him like a stream of cold water on his aching mind. Dogura cleared his throat, and searched for his sword. It had been thrown from his belt in the crash landing, and was only a few meters from the pool of fluid that he had spewed from within him.
He suddenly realized that he didn't like warping, as he grabbed his sword, and the sheath, which laid next to it. Encasing his weapon, he turned, and looked around, until he spotted the castle that Radley had mentioned. Dogura felt sick, as if he had just traveled light speed after eating macaroni and cheese. He placed his sword where it belonged, and stared off into the distance. Finally Dogura decided to speak. "Enemy territory?" He asked, following Radley and Rose, as they led him along.
Radley cast a warning glance at Dogura, as if to say “Keep quiet, man!” Of course, it was impossible for Dogura to catch the expression under the man's mysterious black hood. To the samurai it would only appear as a quick glance to his left. Continuing on, Radley slowed his pace to an almost boring speed, stepping lightly over rubble and debris and being careful to avoid even the most basic of noises. He expected Rose and Dogura to do the same, as there was obviously something dangerous that could happen if they failed to keep stealthy. Rose knew quite well the creatures that lurked at the path's edge.
The group came to a run-down shed, which served as a guard shack for the minuscule chasm that lay ahead. At the bottom of the fall, which seemed to be only twenty or so feet deep, there were dusty and broken fragments of wood, and the rotting threads of an ancient rope. It was quite obvious that these were the remnants of a bridge, and it was therefore quite obvious that the small trench was once an ordinary river. Radley stepped down into the crevice, planting his feet roughly as he landed to keep from tumbling over. Turning, he gestured for the others to follow. Suddenly, his hood came down and an expression of horrible shock overcame him.
“Dogura!” he whispered in a panicked voice, only loud enough for the samurai to hear. “Where the hell did Rose go?” He pointed a gloved finger to where Dogura was standing. Sure enough, the cloaked woman had disappeared. Radley was not overly fond of the woman, but her disappearance worried him. Had they gotten her? Or had she simply gotten bored and wandered off by herself? Both seemed like abnormalities in her persona - no monster could just sneak up and subdue that lady, and she never seemed one to just disappear on her own in the middle of a dangerous travel. Whatever her reason, Radley knew it was best to just continue.
“Cummon, Dogura. We've got a ways to go before we're out of the district. Just pray you don't have to find out what I meant by 'Enemy Territory'.” Pulling that dark hood back over his head, the ranger turned and continued, encouraging the samurai to jump down into the dried river with him.
Confusion gripped at the vagabond, but not at all like the creeping sensation of presence. He felt as if they were not alone, and to add to his fears, Rose had disappeared. The samurai was now on full alert, and was actually a bit scared. However, it was in his nature to keep his emotions hidden. He sustained a calm demeanor and decided that he should follow Radley's orders, despite his will to seek out their missing comrade. Dogura removed his dagger, and kept it close to his side, as he silently made his way over the wrecked landscape.
Stealth was one of his strong points, and it would definitely prove useful here. He noticed the haggard old shed, and then the bridge. It was as if he were in the middle of a nightmare. Thats all this place could be described as. A nightmarish landscape. He nodded, as he made his way into the dried up river, doing his best to stick close behind his guide. After all, he had never been here, or even heard of it. He didn't even know where he was exactly. All he knew is that he was in danger. He would keep quiet now, and ask questions later.
The river was only a short distance in width, and was probably just a regular waterway through the city at one point long ago. Although the bottom is littered in rock and rubble, one accustomed to the dark could likely make out the cracked remnants stone bricks on the ground and river walls. Apparently, this society had taken great detail in even its flowing rivers. At one time it would likely have been a most prestigious sight, the water flowing through this canal.
Radley hauled himself up at the other side of the dried river, taking great care to direct Dogura up the correct route on the wall's face. It was a deep river; twenty feet at its bed. A fall from the top would be painful, but certainly not fatal. Radley knew no healing magic, and so Dogura would be on his own in the case of a wound.
Finally reaching the top of the great trench, Radley bent double to catch his breath, placing a palm on a large, upright boulder to keep his balance. When he had regained his energy he shook his head and looked onwards at the great castle in the dark. It was still a great way away. Judging from the area ahead of the two rangers, Radley and his samurai charge had landed in the region just beyond the Shop District. There were few who were allowed to tread in this dark place, and as far as Radley knew, he and Dogura were the first to bare witness to the region beyond its dead thresholds.
A deep gurgling noise erupted from only a few feet before the Byrna-born vagabond, startling him into a jump. Before his eyes, the ground tore open and a thick, black piece of flesh burst from the ground. It was easily recognized as a hand, and a disgustingly frightening one at that. Re-Deads! the ranger shouted in his head. Quickly turning to Dogura, he urged the samurai up the river wall, and swung back around in time to feel the black, sagging hands of the Oblivion Re-Dead grip his cloak, grasping the flesh beneath tightly.
“Augh!” came the terrified reaction from Radley as he struggled to free himself. Behind this Re-Dead stood four more hungry beasts, not prepared to ease off at all in their hunt for fresh human flesh. Radley drew his only close-range weapon - a short bronze dagger - and thrust it madly into the oppressor's gut, writhing in uneasiness as he felt a splash of the horrid blood splatter on his hand. The Re-Dead stumbled back in pain, its warped face a mask of agony. The visible organs in its decomposed, rotted torso pulsated visibly, making the ranger sick to his stomach.
~~~~~~~~~~~~

The Zora trudged along at a fast pace, slightly miserable but mainly fuming in hatred and rage. How dare they send him out in the wilds with this cheery buffoon of a Hylian! His teeth gritted savagely as he contemplated the fastest routes through the Shop District, an area that he had explored before with a very carefully selected handful of comrades. And now he was here with the newer Apostle. The two were the worst couple for traveling together, and Selerovisk vowed to end this mission as soon as possible.
“Keep up, bard!” he yelled in a hissing tone, quite loud despite the obvious need to keep quiet in such an infested area. He kicked a rock with his black boot, enraged that he had been “randomly” selected to take the vagabond out into the District to find traces of important information. Information that was gathered in this infernal place was always such a random encounter; no matter how many times a place was searched, something odd could be observed each time. The Zora kept a ready fist clenched at his side, clenching and unclenching to relieve some stress. But nothing sickened him more than unnecessary cheer. This bard's happiness is not welcome in this place. Hopefully he learns that before his time is up, thought the outraged fish-man as he advanced towards the outskirts of the Shop District.

Victor was enthralled. To be partnered with such a high level Apostle, and at random! He may as well have been the luckiest new member in history, to the point where he didn't even let the mission dampen his spirits. Yes, he trodded along behind Selerovisk with a happy bounce in his step, completely ignoring both the spite in the Zora's call and the eeriness of the surrounding area.
But though he may not have heard his partner's malicious tone, the Bard did hear and respond to his call. Trotting forward until he was beside the Zora, he turned and beamed in his direction.
"Lucky for me to have you, eh? I mean, you're obviously a high-ranking member, I can't believe they chose you to join me!"
He then gestured to his back, where his harp was latched yet ready to be played, almost like a holster for the insturment.
"Hopefully I'll be able to help, with my songs and all. We'll be hearing plenty of those, I hope! It's my job to motivate my teammates, after all!"
At this, Victor laid a friendly hand on Selerovisk's shoulder and smiled even wider, if it was possible, not sacrificing a smidgen of his happiness to the situation.
"Eh, teammate?"

The samurai walked along the bottom of the river, and watched Radley as he scaled the side of the riverbed. Dogura made a low rumbling sound deep within his throat. He detested climbing walls. If it were a flat wall, it would be no problem at all. However, this was an unstable wall of dirt and debris. Dogura removed his dagger from his sheath, and brought it down on the side of the river-wall. Giving him a better hold on the wall, it held firm as he pulled himself up the wall, finding any foothold he could to support his weight. This all hit him as not an experience, but a nostalgic memory. He remembered an old mud hole that the children of Shadowclaw would play in. They would play king of the mud, and see who could scale the side fastest. For reasons unknown to anyone, this gave the samurai a bit of encouragement. He smiled slightly, and began climbing the side faster than before, using his knife as a pick. When he finally made it to the top, he went to clean his dagger. However, it came to his attention that there was nothing but filth around. Upon that realization, he looked down at his once clean armor. It shined no more. He sighed, and wiped the dagger clean with his own hand.
Sheathing it, he leaned against the very boulder that Radley had just used. Thats when he looked around for his companion. It hit him fast, and shocked the hell out of him. Re-Deads had risen from rubble, and attacked! Dogura almost couldn't think straight. Everything was happening to fast. Whats worse, Dogura had only fought the undead so many times. He hadn't much experience with Re-Deads. Dogura quickly drew his sword, and darted to Radley's side. Five Re-Deads stood before them. The way their flesh had been partially rotted away, didn't disturb the vagabond much more than their exposed organs did. The samurai's mouth curled up into a disgusted frown, as he gripped his sword with both hands, and slid one leg back in a battle ready pose. He flipped his sword around so that it pointed towards his enemy. He stood in his father's signature "Scorpion Strike" stance. In this stance, anything that approached from the front was headed for a sure demise. He knew that Re-Deads were naturally slow, but persistent. They would surely attack from the front with no battle plan. This would be perfect for them. He waited patiently for the hungry monsters to make their move. He would be ready.

Selerovisk's bulging, demented eyes widened as he felt the gloved hand of the friendly bard touch his cloaked shoulder. He turned on the bard, a look of sick hatred plastered on his twisted, scarred face - concealed beneath the hood, however. Without a word, the Zora re-clenched his scaly blue fist and aimed a smart jab at the minstrel's gut. “Don't touch me,” he hissed under his breath, turning back around and continuing on his silent walk of outrage.
The first Re-Dead to have appeared in Radley's line of sight - and to attack the ranger - howled an ear-piercing scream, knowing that its meal was now going to come at a greater price. It was so much easier to feed on prey that ceased struggle from the beginning. It bared its blackened gums at the two men who dared stand up to it, its hideous, deformed tongue flopping about miserably in its decaying mouth.

Radley's eyes slip to the left and he turns his head slightly in that direction to catch a glance at Dogura, who appears to be just standing there. It was a nice pose, but Radley really hoped that the samurai was going somewhere with this. The archer would be sourly disappointed to see the ranger fall in battle, especially to the likes of these infernal creatures. He muttered something about competence under his breath, pondering a lack of just that, but knowing that the Hylian had to have some intelligence for Myst to summon him. Knowing that thinking of irrelevant matters during battle was dangerous, Radley blinked twice and drew an arrow as if from nowhere, knocking it on his bow and letting it fly fast at the Re-Dead. The creature howled as it received its first nine DMG (12+6 [Roll+AGI])
Quickly backing up its fellow heathen monster, one of the following Re-Deads lunged hungrily at Radley, grabbing at his flesh madly, and almost drooling its terrible black saliva all over his clean cloak. It was completely unsuccessful, however, as Radley managed to pull away from its reach, which was far too slow (4+2 [Roll+AGI]). It stumbled and fell to the ground, growling insanely at the ranger's feet as its brothers trod on its back to get a bite in.
It was at around this time that Selerovisk and Victor arrived at that same trench, reaching the boundary between the Shop District and the strange region that Radley, Dogura and Rose had landed in. At first he considered it to be a seen of cannibalism - five Re-Deads attacking each other for sustenance. That was how the Cursed Ones ate; there was no fresh prey down there. The angry Zora discarded the sight, and gestured to Victor to stay low to avoid a conflict. That is, until he saw the familiar cloak of the order. And the bare flesh of an outsider. Quickly bringing out his spectacular iron halberd, the Zora leaped into action, hissing at the bard and ordering him to follow along. As he reached the Re-Dead at the back of the mob, the massive axe-pike was thrust out into space, directly through the corrupted innards of its target. A sickening squish rang out in the gigantic cavern as it hit (20+3 [Roll+AGI]), and a terrifying twenty DMG was inflicted.

Dogura smiled slightly. He liked the sound of a connected hit. It made a disgusting, yet pleasant sound that rang out through the airwaves. He didn't know who the men on the other side were, but they were helping. The samurai sighed, and extracted his dagger from it's sheath. He now held both weapons outward. He was happy to have reinforcements, but he liked the odds being against him. It provided him with a thrill, that only turned to triumph when those odds were surmounted. Now it wouldn't be much of a fight. Still, he didn't have time to think any longer.
It was time for action. Launching at the previously attacked monster, he hoped to finish it off. It would rid them of one more creature at least. Suddenly, the samurai smiled, and fell into the abyss of a shadow beneath him. Like a lake, he fell into the murky darkness, and shot up from beneath the Re-Dead in a double-bladed uppercut motion. If the attack connected, it would rip all the way up the front of the monster's body. This certainly wouldn't be a spectacular site, but then again, combating Re-Deads never was...

Radley looked back at the samurai once more, and was pleased upon seeing Dogura bolt into action. Observation of an opponent was fine, but these zombie-like creatures didn't wait around for their meals. The archer stepped back and allowed the samurai to press through, but shrugged and stepped forward again as the samurai disappeared in the shadows anyway.
As Dogura reappeared in the face of the fifth Re-Dead, that which the hooded Zora had already taken care of, it snarled in anger and reached out to grab him by the scruff of the neck. As its clammy, dead fingers slided across the skin of his throat, its eyes went wide with agony. Looking Dogura over as the wretched breath of cursed life left its body, there was a horrible squishing noise emitted from its body. Before the eyes of the three hooded men and the samurai, the monster's body was divided vertically. The black, rotted skin folded inwards as Dogura's daggers seared into the flesh, and then the entire build of the now deceased monster slided to the ground with a sickening slurp. (14+6 [Roll+AGI])
As horrifying as the scene was, Radley clasped a gloved hand on the samurai's back as he fell back into line. The dark, hooded visage where his face is displayed a hidden, outward happiness in knowing what the ranger was capable of. Even the Zora was impressed, but he said nothing as he doubled back to his bard 'teammate.'
“Attack them, bard! You're going to get us killed!” he hissed as he grabbed Victor by the wrist and hurled him towards the fourth Re-Dead. This monster had its back turned, but turned a head as it heard the man of music hurtling closer. Its hungry eyes shone with glee as it whirled on its new, easy prey. Outstretching its arms, it couldn't wait to sink its teeth into this fresh young man.
Eyes wide, Radley gasped and grabbed the nearest Re-Dead by its hideous face and pushed it strongly to the side. Pushing through, he came upon the Victor-hungry Cursed One and plunged his simple dagger into the back of its head (19+6 [Roll+AGI]). With a horrible scream, it forgot about its Hylian prey and turned on the ranger instead. Radley was helpless as the dark hands wrapped around his arms and the creature of darkness sank its gnarled teeth into his shoulder (17+2 [Roll+AGI]). Fortunately for the rest of the party, this monster was already at full health, and didn't gain anything from taking Radley's vitality. Wait... a Cursed One at full health? The group wasn't so fortunate after all...
As if this weren't enough, the original Re-Dead was seeking revenge as well. Apparently, being pushed aside wasn't such a favorable thing at all. As Radley yelled in pain and placed a palm on his wound, he felt two soft, clammy hands grab his shoulders and climb onto his back. “Augh!” he yelled pitifully as the creature mounted his back. Without warning, he smashed a cloaked elbow into its face and fell forward, rolling and recovering next to Selerovisk and Victor, sweating in fright and relief. (8+2 [Roll+AGI])
But it didn't stop there. The second Re-Dead, with only Dogura in sight, wanted to attack as well. Lashing out with its gross, cracked fingernails, it batted at the samurai, but was also unsuccessful (1+2 [Roll+AGI]) and could only get away with a sick snarl in Dogura's face. The third however, leaped out from behind its brother monster and performed the same brutal slash with expert precision, for a Cursed one anyway (19+2 [Roll+AGI]). Dogura suffered a deep gash to his temple as a result.

The samurai laughed as the monster slid into pieces. "Hahaha! See that?" he cried triumphantly as he landed, making a smaller noise than expected. The samurai instantly turned around, only to see his comrade being torn to pieces. They all seemed to want a piece of Radley. "Radley!" The samurai shouted, as he attempted to help out his new friend. But that was not to be, for a Re-dead appeared right in his face. His eyes widened. It smelled even worse up close, and he would have little time to dodge. There was no jumping backwards, it would have him by then. He again stressed his abilities by falling into a shadow beneath the monster, narrowly avoiding it's grasp. He surfaced, and was about to attack one of the Re-deads that was crunching away at his team mate.
He knew that if Radley kicked the bucket, he would be absolutely screwed way out here. He knew nothing of the area, and this was his greatest disadvantage. Before he could even move, a wave of pain rushed over him. His head throbbed at the pain. He hadn't been a meal for a Re-dead, but he had still fallen victim to it's claws. His temple was now bleeding, and the samurai cursed his luck. With as dirty as the monster was, it was sure to get infected later. Dogura clutched the wound, and glared at the beast. Dogura, both blades in hand, thrusted them both forward, and then swung them outward, to gravely injure the monster. No matter how much fresh air he would get afterward, he would never forget the putrid smell of the monsters out of his nostrils.

And he laughed happily as best he could, but was careful not to touch his partner again. Slowly straightening again, he trapsed after his newfound friend with a fresh smile on his face. When they reached the trench, though, his smile disappeared.
ReDeads, and tons of them. Reluctantly he followed Selerovisk into the fray, no weapon drawn yet and glancing around nervously. When he reached the bottom of the trench he found his teammate and stuck close by him.
Victor was carefully peering at the ReDeads over Selerovisk's shoulder, safely situated behind him, and far behind him at that. His worse nightmares were coming true... again... except without spiders... hopefully. A trembling hand reached for his dagger and pulled it out, but still the Bard did not advance. It wasn't until the Zora grabbed and threw him into the battle that he moved at all. And now, in the middle of it all, with a ReDead suddenly coming at him, he froze.
Thankfully, Radley was there to bail him out. With the ReDead temporarily distracted, Victor thrashed at the next nearest enemy with a ferocity unmatched by any other warrior.
Wait, no he didn't. Rather, he turned and lunged back towards Selerovisk's feet, crumpled into a ball with his hands over his head, his dagger still drawn. Soft whimpering could be heard coming from the Bard; after all, this was the last place he'd ever want to be.

Dogura's daggers tear into the the monster (19+6 [Roll+AGI]) and deals a a vicious sixteen DMG. Unfortunately for the samurai, however, the Re-Dead was not at its frontier of death and countered directly after, grabbing Dogura's face and pulling itself in close. It began to chew at the ranger, taking from him his reserves of energy and vitality. The monster stepped away from its prey and licked its decayed, black fleshy lips, which dripped with Dogura's own blood. (18+2 [Roll+AGI])
Seeing Dogura wounded, Radley turned on the third Re-Dead and set an arrow on his bow, kneeling down and taking aim carefully. He let the projectile fly towards the satisifed beast, and it gave a low whistle before plunging into its rotten back and snapping the cracked remnants of a spine (13+6 [Roll+AGI]. The Re-Dead dropped in pain and could hardly maintain a stance under its own weight, but it continued on as though pain was not a possible infliction on it.
Envious that its fellow Cursed One had been able to get a bit in, the fourth Re-Dead jumped at the samurai as well, knowing that Dogura was probably still in blood-loss shock. It was greatly unsuccessful, however (4+2 [Roll+AGI]) and tripped over the scared bard at the Zora's feet. Wit ha great moan it fell in a heap on the bard, only to be kicked at by Selerovisk. It was forced to the ground just next to Victor, and then the ruthless Zora struck. Spinning the halberd above his head, he ordered the bard to stay down and then brought his weapon's point down hard into the Re-Dead's head (14+3 [Roll+AGI). Victor, being in such close proximity, was almost soaked by a splash of the blackened blood, but was fortunately able to avoid such catastrophe. A pool of it settled next to him, threatening to flow around him if he refused to move. The Zora, now furious with his buffoon of a comrade, hauled Victor up by the scruff of the neck and pushed him away from the battle. “If you're not going to attack, then play a song or something!” he hissed angrily, spitting at the injured Re-Dead at his feet.
But Victor didn't have much of a chance for that. The first Re-Dead had stealthily sneaked around the group and was coming up just behind him. Baring its horrid tooth fragments and drooping gums, it wrapped its arms around him and tore into his shoulder, sucking mercilessly (10+2 [Roll+AGI]). It then leaped off and made a hoarse groan of enthusiasm, fully satisfied by the refreshments.

Victor, huddled on the ground, managed to become even more rigid with terror as the ReDead fell on him. He felt it knocked away but still could not move, only whimper louder. Selerovisk's... physical intervention managed to break his sheltered position, however. The Bard winced as he was pulled up, afraid it might have been a ReDead, and he never got the chance to find out what with being thrown away so fast.
Stumbling over to the sidelines, Victor had managed to catch a bit of Selerovisk's command; therefore, he began to take out his harp. But before he was able to squeeze out one simple, struggling note, the other ReDead attacked. The Hylian screamed a high-pitched scream, much like the ReDeads themselves tended to, and his voice cracked in mid-yell. The fiend took his big bite of Bard and scampered away, but things were only beginning for Victor.
For, while the ReDead had regained health from his attack Victor, of course, had lost some himself. But for a Hylian who was already deathly afraid of ReDeads, the added health loss had a more dire consequence: the Bard's eyes quickly rolled upwards and he fell forward; first to his knees, then face-first into the ground.
And he was out like a light, fainted from both the pain and the fear that had overcome him.
