You see a cave, in front of it, is a broken sign, which remnants of it can be read "Kee o t Dange ous -Hy an Gu ds" In front of it are Marin, Hendel and Joryen, checking there supplies, as they check they look for oncoming adventures, perhaps to find a recruit. From within the cave, screams and cries can be heard, along with an all to familiar laughing, Dennings laughter.

Victor walks over to the group, curiously watching them prepare their equipment.

"Pray tell, good sirs, why are you here? This cave seems to be dangerous."

He then remembered the supplies the men were handling. They seemed perfectly capable. Then he heard the laugh.

He recognized that laugh; it was Denning's. This realization caused his feelings of patriotism to arise once more. He bowed:

"If you need any help, then I am your man. I will be glad to offer my services..."

Hendel looks at the new arrival and smiles.
" Yes, that would be great, we are here to exterminate a threat, a threat called Denning."

"Yes, Denning. I realized it was him...that laugh...."

Victor smiles at the man.

"By the way, I'm Victor."

His hand was outstretched again.

"And I alread know the threat that Denning posts. He seems to be against the king..."

"Yes, let mE introduce us, I am Hendel, that over there with the blade and bow is Marin, and with the dagger and boomerang, Joryen."

"Hello Hendel, Marin, and.....Joryen is it?"

Victor nods his head towards each man, a smile still on his face.

"I look forward to helping you!"

Then, Victor leaned in, a puzzled look on his face.

"By the way....how am I going to help?"

"See that knife?"
Marin points at Victors dagger.
"Stab Denning, simple."

Victor unsheaths his dagger, looking at as if it were an alien object.

"Well, I've never killed a man before... I've fought Denning, with my good reasons, but I have no need to kill him."

He stares at his dagger even more closely, noticing a line of blood where it had pierced Denning's skin. He looked up at Hendel.

"I'll do it, if that's what you want."

Then, putting his dagger away for now, he looked uneasily into Hendel's eyes.

"Denning is evil, right? We aren't going to do anything....bad, are we? We're supposed to protect the people of Hyrule, not slaughter them pointlessly..."

"Think of Denning as Ganon, and you as LInk, what would you do?

Victor pondered this analogy. 'Hmm.... if this man is comparing Denning to Ganon.....He must be evil, right? It would be for the common good of man to kill him....but still...'

"Well, I'd try to kill him, naturally. He would be evil, and I good. That's how it's supposed to happen.... good prevails over evil, right over wrong. It's the way of the world..."

"Exactly, so do it."
Marin looks at his blade and smiles an eire smile, like one eager of a hunt.

"Well, O.K. Whenever you guys are ready..."

Victor still seemed unsure of himself. He kept shifting positions; fidgeting. He couldn't keep still, couldn't keep his mind from coming to the same sight: Denning, covered in blood. A dagger in his heart. 'My dagger' Victor thought. He shuddered.

Without warning, a voice comes from behind Victor. "If you have any reservations against killing Denning, I will do it." The voice is Alpha's, who calmly walks over to where the group is. "I may not enjoy killing people, but I've done it before, when necessary." His face becomes grim as he continues. "And from what I've seen of Denning lately, this is very necessary."

Victor turned to face Alpha. He smiled, trying to lighten the mood a little.

"That would mean a lot, thanks."

But this false attitude did not last. He soon returned to looking unsure, but this time he voiced his concerns:

"But....is Denning really the big problem here? I mean, sure, he is a threat. But what if were focused to strongly on him? What if he's just the lesser of two evils.....what of this new master of his? If he's as strong as Denning claims, then we could very well be walking into a trap..."

And then Victor displayed one of his old habits: he tried to look for the best in people. In this case, he had only pure speculation to work with:

"What if Denning is being controlled by his new master? What if he is just an innocent tool in the hands of evil, the puppet of some dark force? What if we are gathering to kill a perfectly law-abiding Hylian? The threat itself would not be destroyed, only one of its servants..."

Victor looked into Alpha's eyes, searching for some kind of answer; something to disprove his own theory. Some kind of creditable reason for killing Denning...

Alpha looks at his feet as he listens to Victor's concerns. "Well," he says at last, "I suppose it is possible that it's not Denning. You have a good point; we should focus more on this new master of his. He's the true problem."
He glances at the other three men. Two he has never seen before, but one he remembers from back before Denning fused with Deoxolips, during one of the fights against Umbra. "Perhaps killing Denning isn't what we should try to do. If we can take him alive, we could interrogate him and find out more about his master. Perhaps we could even try to separate him and Deoxolips." He lets this idea hang in the air for a few seconds, waiting for a reply from any of the others.
