I think a big focus on the game, as stated by Miyamoto and re-elaborated upon by Aonuma, is to make the game accessible to newcomers. Easy control scheme or no, you can be sure that there will be a tutorial of some sort, or at least simple instructions regarding controls. If neither the latter nor the former exist, that's just poor documentation. Nintendo is not known for bad documentation, so no worries.

Regarding the Steve thing, this is the original thread, apparently. Some people were trying to decide on a placeholder name for her, some guy voted for "Steve," and one thing led to another.

Advanceshipping and Rion had better be Chuck Norris approved.

Wow, surprising how fast rumours spread.

That said, though, I hope her name is Adelle. It's nice.

But then again, she may not have a name, exactly.

Hi no Seijin

Adelle, short for Adelaide, a German name meaning "noble" or "serene."  I guess it would work.

Funny you should mention Adelle as a name for Link's new partner.  I have a character named Adelaide who is a cleric serving Farore, Link's patron goddess.  Did I ever tell you about her, Mags?

I think there has been a character somewhere in the LoZ series named Adelle.

But I'm not sure.

Hi no Seijin

Um, I don't think there has been; I certainly don't remember a character named Adelle.  Are you thinking about Final Fantasy Tactics A2?

It's from Radiata Stories. I remember Vaati saying looked like it and got mixed up.

Sorry.

I do not recall, no.

It can also be short for "Adelheid". ^^

And funny how Nagi mentioned Adelle from Radiata Stories and the Adelle from SS and the similarities in graphics...I just thought of that. ;D But I digress.

"Adel" is my sort of nickname in my German class. That's why I hope they keep it as Adelle. It's a nice name.  :)

Yes Adelle sounds really good.

But I still vote for Steve. (Also, I lol'd at the one guy in that topic you linked, Mags, who said that he found pron of her.)

You know what? Upon closer inspection, I hope Ganondorf isn't in this one. His appearance was incredible enough in Twilight Princess.

But anyway, considering this takes place before OoT and that OoT was Ganondorf's "start of darkness," it would seem illogical for him to turn up, especially when you consider that (I suspect) a huge part of the reason Ganondorf was in TP at all was because of fan demand. Fan demand this time around seems rather lacking in comparison, and since the Zelda team appears to be careful about the timeline at this point, I'd imagine that they're going to think twice before tossing him in there.

Indeed or if they do throw him in like make it just mention of a future threat...

Yeah, something like a premonition, or rising evil wind, or something cool like that. Actually, now that I think about it, there may be a mention of his future presence, because unless there is something so incredibly evil in this game, there should really be no other reason to bring about the Master Sword. Because, think about it. In every game that the Master Sword was in, there was Ganon, or someone of an equally dangerous caliber. The only exception to this would be Four Swords Adventures...But the Four Sword was holy anyway.

Just because Ganondorf won't be the antagonist doesn't mean Ganon won't be. They're separate people, or so I'm aware. I have to wonder if Ganon will be an intelligent antagonist at any point like he was in earlier titles. You know, he was the manbearpig but still had a mind. Back when he had a trident and whatnot. I have doubts about seeing any protagonist that we already know of, but you never know...

I actually liked seeing Ganondorf in TP. I don't think it was fan demand, I think it was more or less because it was part of the story. After child Link's timeline, he warns of Ganondorf's invasion, giving Hyrule time to bolster its defenses and be better prepared. Showing the execution of Ganondorf was awesome, and I think it needed to be written. I also love how he took the form of Zant's "God" giving him power. That was just as evil as we all know Ganondorf really is.

We can all agree- No villain, EVER, in the history of gaming, deserves the title "The King of Evil" more than Ganondorf.  ;)

I don't believe so. In Ocarina of Time, when you fight his humanoid form, he's called "Ganondorf" and the second battle he transforms into a more monstrous form which was then called "Ganon". So, same person, different form.

Anywho, I agree that Ganon's the classic Zelda villain, but on the other hand, I always like to see fresh new faces. Maybe they can do what they did in TP, FSA and other Zelda games and make Ganon the main, main villain whilst making a miniature main villain like Zant, Vaati, etc.
