I in no way think Japan would or would ever want to missile anyone since they are one of the richest and most well off countries anywhere.

Why would Japan want revenge. I could see them being mad that we bombed them but we helped them rebuild.

I really don't know why, most likely because if we didn't we'd be missing out on a lot of tech (like the GCN!) and japan is one of our major trade partners

We don't want to foster future enemies.  That would be like asking, Why rebuild the Confederacy after the Civil War.

Also we saw what Japan did during the age of imperialism(built powerful army while everyone else fought for land) so we knew making an ally of them would be like having Mike Tyson on your side in a fight, it would help a lot.

Even if Japan hated our souls, they aren't allowed to have a military so what are they going to do.

Yes but Japan still has a militia, we could crush them but they could still put up a fight

All Japan has, is a small force to defend themselves if they come under attack.

But the militia is not allowed to leave Japan legally while on duty.

But that small force could help if NK attacked, we did poorly against the koreans because of gureilla warfare(sp) which is the same technique Hideki Tojo's forces used so it's kind of like having a spy in th korean army, we now know how they fight for future reference
