'Cept it breaks alot.

Hi no Seijin

Yes, that's the only difference, but now we know for sure that Biggoron's sword is too long for one hand, and not that it's heavy.

good point. I still think it doesent matter though. with a sword that long to keep monsters at bay, who needs a shield? And with the great spin attack, its got such a wide range, you are nearly invisible.

My real Poison team in BW2. They all have perfect natures and EV's. I went the extra distance and bred the right IV's into them. Come at me bro.

Hi no Seijin

I use my shield as a plate. :P

speaking of using your shield innapropriatly, im going to veer off topic for a moment. Nintendo made an error. In Super Smash Bros Melee, if you are young link, you are equipted with the Kokiri sword, and the Deku Shield, correct? If you shoot a fire arrow at the deku shield, shouldnt it burn up? It is not resistant to fire. Maybe its because captain falcon uses fire, fox has a fire attack, mario has fire balls, roys sword deals fire, zelda can use dins fire... ill just stop there. :-X

Hi no Seijin

Yeah, but Adult Link can use the boomerang, which he shouldn't be able to.  And it's not like the Smash Bros. are canon or anything.

Just one thing...

If a sword breaks, it's poorly smithed, and as we know from the gorons, it's not the metal which is poor.
So, the biggorons dagger, which breaks is not hardened properly, and should therefore be much lighter than the sword you recieve afterwards.

That's why you warm it up, hammer it and cools it. To harden it, and therefore you add more metal to it so it will not be to thin for a sword with that design.

Therefore, when you add more metal to the sword, and hammer it into one piece it's stronger and yet heavier since it's much more metal contracted into one solid piece of steel.

So the sword you get, which don't break must be heavier than the other sword. And as we all know, it's harder to controll no matter strength, since the heaviest point will be at the swords tip when you wield it by holding the hilt.

So, it would be rather improoper to wield the sword with one hand, since you'll only be able to deliver agressive and wide bowed attacks. Not quick and smooth slashes. So by having the shield on your back, you've got your back covered and by using the blade both defensive and offensive you've got a rather good fighting stance and a good strategy.

Therefore I say, that it's only strength that matters.

( to put it in other words. The sword is so long, that the point of weight is at the swordstip as you hold the hilt. It will be harder to controll as you swing it, and you wont be able to deliver the prooper attacks.)

I rest my case.

Hi no Seijin

That is an excellent point, Lokes.  You just summed it all up.  Very informative.  Are you a smithy? ;D

My dad plans to put up a smithy on his land. Apart from that I have no relations to smithing. Other than I read and learn alot wherever I find information interesting.
Also, I practice with swords and other weapons just for fun, or not practicing, rather messing around.

NARUTO RULES Goodnightey friends!  :P

No, no, no the amount of metal dosen't determine the durability, its how you heat it when it comes to steel which the biggoron sword is seeing as it has a shiny luster. To make steel very durable you must heat it until it is a slight blue tinge then plunge it then heat it again and plunge it one last time.

Lokes

Yes, i know this. Sorry if my post wasn't understandable, and if i didn't add enough ammo. I never said that more metal made it more durable. or whatever, i just said that as you hearden it, you add more metal. That also don't neccessarily goes for all techniques of smithing. Also, if you plunge it and heaten it too much, or too little, it's all ruined. right?

Come to think of it, I wasn't wrong. I just didn't say anything about the plunging thing. the process while shaping the sword craves it to be heated untill it's a spesific colour (depends on how, what and how good you mean to smith it) and then you need to cool it down, for then to heat it up again and shape it more.
Now this might be wrong since I don't really have much experience on the area. Forgive me if I'm wrong but please don't be narrowminded and consider all smithing techniques as one. And smithing also depends on what you are smithing. It's diffrent for each object.

If i am all wrong then please correct me. As I said, I'm not a smithy.
