You may want to consider taking that up with The Missing Link then.  Personally, I wouldn't put Link with Medli, or any character in the game, because that seems cliche.  I mean, the game only hints at a romance, but they don't actually do anything with it.  So why can't Link mate with some character that's off the screen?  I think we already established the fact there must be more people in Hyrule than who they show in the game.
