An exam that won't even be graded? Ok never heard of that before, although grading is the biggest pain. Sounds like a disgruntled or burned out teacher to me for someone to say something like that in the area they profess and are supposedly an expert.

DW

nope. course you dont use physics in real life, laser techinicians just guess all the time. lucky we haven't been blwon up yet. and I'm not watching the video becuase I don't like Gore, it's because I don't believe Global Warming is a problem, because if you're Christian, that pretty much destroys all evidence, since most of what they say is based on what has happened over the billions of years, when the bible says the earth is only a few thousand years old.

The thing is, he's REALLY not an expert. The only reason he's teaching the class is because the previous teacher got transferred to another class, so my physics class got dropped on him. The man knows NOTHING about physics, or science in general. I'm not kidding, I had him last  year for Earth science and he wasn't exactly that challenging or comprehensive...

REason why the other guy got transferred from physics is cause he doesn't have a degree in it. Actually, we haven't had a guy with a degree in physics for like three years. But the previous guy at least knew and understood the definitions of physics.

Our school is sucky, cause we have so many subs, and so few licensed teachers, and even the good teachers are thinking about leaving or 'retiring'. Bunch of cowaords they are.

OH yeah, and SN: if you notice that weather has been getting awkward lately compared to, ohh, the past few decades, then religion isn't really an excuse to deny global warming. Just look at the glaciers melting and less snowfall everywhere, you don't have to believe that the earth is billions of years old to realize that something is VERY[/u] wrong.

And I heard about a guy who talked about how caring for our earth is a religious concern. I believe he was an evangelist...

bgrugby

Hmmm wow compared to my state where we have so many licensed teachers who cannot find jobs cause there is no demand for it.

DW

We are also assured the earth won't be ended like that though, so I'm still not worried. as for the less snow everywhere thing, Our snowfall is like the highest it's ever been.

That's the point, extremely abnormal weather patterns. One place may get a lot of snow and it may look like global warming is nonexistant, but if you look at the entire planet, other places where snow was dominant, and is now falling (take a look at europe and the glaciers) then you see that there's a problem.

MasterKeyX

I'm not saying i believe this, but iI'm just going to project a point that's against Global Warming.

This point is taken from a Discovery Channel documentary:

"The Earth is, without a doubt, experiencing a temperature change. The average temp has gone up about 1 degree, which may not seem like alot, but it is.

Some are not so sure about this global warming thing, and, to see if it was true, they went down to the Antarctic and studied some.

While there, a theory was proposed: that the Earth goes through cycles of warmth and cold, and that our Earth is going into a warm cycle. This means that it would have nothing to do with humans.

But what supports this theory?

Here is what does: The scientists drilled down into the ice for a core ice sample of the Anatarctic (which is when they drill down many miles to see what they can find in the ice. The drill only takes out a small,cylinder-like section of ice, so don't worry). After studying the ice, the scientist had noticed a pattern in the ice: There were periods of extreme cold in the past, and periods of extreme warmth. This proves that global warming is not true, and that it is just a cycle thing."

Now, this fact is not my opinion, just anoth idea that seems very convincing to me. True, humans may be speeding up the process, but it could have natural roots.

If you'd watched An Inconvenient Truth you'd know he adressed that, too. It's much hotter and going at a much faster rate now. He had a whole chart and everything.

MasterKeyX

Which, i did state. if it is nature rooted, then, fine. But humans may be speeding it up at a harmful rate.

as for abnormal weather patterns, aren't they also caused be El Nino, a natural event?

darkphantomime

First of all, I also heard about the antarctic ice drilling. They also found that there seems to be a significant increase in CO2 gas compared to previous eras, and this is having an adverse affect.

We've also had El Nino in the past, but we never had something that was totally out of wack as it is now. Even if humans aren't the problem, that doesn't mean we should do nothing about it.

Do we really want to destroy ourselves through our own ignorance?

Vaati

I don't really believe it's global warming being the reason why all these things are happening.

MasterKeyX

How is it ignorance? I'm not being ignorant, i was simply putting another theory out there! I never said i took it as the truth!

I was not refering to you or anyone else, Masterkey. I was making a point that the whole of humanity has the habit of being ignorant, and interested in their own things rather than the common good.

So... whatever...
