The girl in question happens to be the daughter of the woman who headed that state's campaign for Obama.

Surely there's something wrong with that?  Or is it just wrong if the Republicans do it?

Mysterious F.

Well, if the daughter actually asked the question out of interest, then it isn't wrong.

If her mother made her, however, then it is wrong.

Gee, and I thought that this was merely an attempt to scare americans into racking up votes for the republican or democratic party.

As George Washington said before (or after) his time of President was over, "Opposing Political Parties will tear this country apart."

This is the main reason why I'm losing my interest in poltics anymore, because all I hear is pretty scary stuff, all of it going against opposing politcal parties.

The second article (to which, the "Is America becoming Fascist" was first) Has been posted.

Mysterious F.

Whoever is writing these articles is brilliant.

JQ, mind if I ask a question?

Why do you work so hard to expose the Republican Party as a cancer to America?  Because to be honest, it's that kind of partisan bickering that is the cancer of America's political system.  All politics has boiled down to is "I'm not going to tell you why you should vote for me, but rather why you shouldn't vote for them."

The fact that you work so hard at this is exactly what is wrong with America right now.  That even in the midst of all this country's crises, people still love to play games of "Told you so" just so they can have the peace of mind that they're right in their opinion.

I might edit this more after school, so there might be more.

Mysterious F.

Well, based off of all the evidence that JQ has been pilling up, he actually does have a point.

Gamefreak

My apologies, I didn't realize that because 8 crazy people take up guns, it means that the whole damn Republican Party is to blame.

Pyrgusfinn

It seems to me that y'all are starting to make this personal.
I agree with GF that 8 people do not make up an entire parties' views, however, I personally have not heard of anyone from the opposition who has taken things to that sort of extreme. Now granted, I am nowhere near as well versed in politics as you all seem to be, and I would love the opportunity to read something along the lines of a left wing extremist taking things to that level so that I could respond in an unbiased manner, however, GF, you do not seem to be backing up what you are saying with anything specific.

I wish that American politics were not so focused on mudslinging to get their votes, but unfortunately, that seems to be what gets to the majority of the voters.  People do not take the time to educate themselves, and blindly follow anything they see on television.

Gamefreak

I never said anything about left wing extremism.

Pyrgusfinn

I was sincerely interested is all. I want to be able to respond in an unbiased manner if at all possible.

There are writers like this on the other side of the political spectrum as well. There are nuts and lunatics on both sides who do extreme things.

BUT NEITHER COUNTRY WANTS TO DESTROY AMERICA

This is what pisses me off.  This isn't even about helping America anymore, it's about being the right one.

"I am that kind of liberal because I am that kind of conservative."

Famous quote for a good reason.

Dude, I don't think you even bothered to read ANY of the articles I posted all throughout this topic. Please, read the articles and discuss them rather than read the topic and assume you know what we're talking about, because you clearly have no damn clue.

^This is mainly what I was responding to.

I read the articles, and they do have that good party/bad party slant. There is an incredibly anti-GOP tone running through the whole topic. The fascism threat is labeled as due to right-wing, which, without clarification, will make the average leader equate right wing with fascism. It goes both ways, right wing writers use the same tactics.

"The GOP's Misplaced Rage" says the GOP holds Democrats to higher standards than they do themselves. While that may be true, it also works in reverse. Politics are just completely Machiavellian now.
