What is that?! Nogare wondered. The light of the flames reflected off his eyes, and he had to plan out what to do before attacking...

If I strike it with my sword, it will burn... if I strike with my feet or hands, I will burn... the gilded swords are over there, and I know how to attack unarmed, so... Taking a sharp breath, he raised his sword over his head, and, taking quick aim, he threw his sword* at the closest one (#1).

Fang's Elemental Burst is only L1, and therefore he cannot control the power completely. This has dangerous repercussions when the attack takes on the element of Fire. As it impacts with the strange creatures, all that happens is that the beast absorbs the energy, growing larger in the process.
Flame Consumption: Whenever attacked by the element of Fire, the attack heals for the same amount that it would normally deal in damage. Resistance is not taken into account for this.
OOC: Hm . . . now, how to do a thrown weapon . . . ? I guess first we should see if it's going to hit at all. *Rolls* Dang, it will. Hm . . .

IC:
The Gilded Sword Nogare has thrown slashes through the strange flame (18+5[Roll+AGI]). The sword is fairly blunt, though, so its damage is not nearly as great as a real Gilded Sword would be capable of. All in all, it only deals 17 DMG to the first flame, dropping it to beyond its original level of health.

Noval and Horren whip out their swords and charge forward as well, Iron blades shining brightly as they draw nearer to the fiery foes. Noval's blade bursts through and slices apart the fires of the second one (20+2[Roll+AGI]) to deal 12 DMG, while Colonel Veldam's blade fails to pierce through their target (12+2[Roll+AGI]) as it nimbly rolls itself into an almost casual backflip and moves out of the way.

General Lion, on the other hand, settles back into his crosslegged position, sitting on the ground and meditating. But the look on his face is not one of calm; rather, it is one of confusion. These creatures are . . . different . . . from anything he has every encountered before.

Oddly enough, none of the creatures attempt to retaliate in any way. They simply stand there, rocking back and forth on their pointed legs.

OOC: I meant my Wooden Sword, not the Gilded :(.

IC: Nogare, not caring that his weapon was ruined, grabbed a gilded sword. "Guys! Shot missiles at it! Melee weapons are no use, if they're wooden! Those of you without, grab a gilded sword!" He then raises the blade in his hand, and slashes down at the same monster that he had hit with his sword.

OOC: Let's just say the damage of the GS is still 5, and doesn't burn. Savvy? :D Or would that foil your plans? :(

Leth and his party shift their weapons, and their attacks ensue. Leth draws his dagger, but was uneasy about getting so close with so short of a weapon. So, deciding Nogare's choice of action was also a wise one for him, he also hurls his dagger (at creature 1). Karuna, being a Goron, can withstand even Lava, so he has nothing to fear from the creatures. He rushes forward, blade raised. He Goron rolls around one of them unexpectedly and attacks it from behind(creature 2). Drommlin, finally getting his chance to fight, has a glimmer in his eye. He jumps up in the air, twirling his spear above his head. He brings the spear down at the head of creature # 3. Seemingly harmless Polari, on the other hand, unexpectedly casts thunder!!!!! He is obviously more than what he seems...

Fang's grin faded. "Damn elements! Gimme something good this time!! Water would be good!" He shouted to Din, rolling his eyes. It seems that the creatures absorb any fire based attack. How original. Relying on the elements once more, he shot his arms out in front of him, conjuring power from his stones of power! [Elemental Burst] [Drawing 3 from Will] (as to account for the stone's power)

Rose stood there, wondering why the creatures weren't attacking or defending themselves. What are they waiting for? she thought to herself. Are they even waiting for anything? Can they talk?

"Hi," she said to the fire creatures. "Can you speak Common?"

OOC: Whoops, my bad there, Nogare. Oh well.

IC:
As Nogare grabs the Gilded Sword from the pile, he notices that this one also is quite worn. No doubt it will not do nearly as much damage as the Gilded Swords that some of the greatest warriors in the land are known to wield. As the Grunt charges forward, though, the fire creature leaps into the air, literally twisting its entire body around the sword and the warrior holding it without ever being touched by the golden weapon (7+5[Roll+AGI]).

Leth's dagger receives similar treatment, in the fact that it doesn't touch the fiery humanoid at all. Instead, a gaping hole opens up in its chest, allowing the dagger to fly right through and into the rubble behind it (16+3[Roll+AGI]). Karuna's 2H Sword experiences similar results as the fire splits in half, the top half splitting off from the lower half of its body and leaping above the sword (2+2[Roll+AGI]). When the Goron's attack is done, the two halves come back together.

Drommlin's spear, perhaps aided by the Human's desire for fighting, is the first of this round to hit its mark with pinpoint accuracy (20+3[Roll+AGI]). The point of the shaft breaks through the third fire creature with such force that the flames are blown backward, flickering unexpectedly as 14 DMG is dealt.

Polari's Thunder spells shoots outward, wreaking havoc on all of the blazing creatures. Only one of the flames manages to even partially shield against the blast (#1 = 7+5[Roll+SPI], #2 = 10+5[Roll+SPI], #3 = 5+5[Roll+SPI], #4 = 17+5[Roll+SPI], #5 = 11+5[Roll+SPI], #6 = 7+5[Roll+SPI]) The fourth receives 7 DMG, while the others all take 15 DMG.

Fang's Elemental Burst takes on the element of Nature, hurtling for the fourth, and most powerful creature, left. The thing seems to have a knack for resisting, though not a fully developed one, for once again it manages to avoid full damage (17+5[Roll+SPI]), taking 7 DMG from the vines that suddenly spring from the ground and strike it before it can burn said vines apart.

Rose's words seem to have no affect on the creatures. They simply continue to move slowly back and forth, not even seeming to have heard, much less acknowledged, her words. Something about this makes something within the Zora General click, and he swiftly rises to his feet. Walking forward, he places a firm hand on her shoulder. "They are not alive," he says softly, his kind and river-like voice failing to match his surprise at this fact.

*On the other side of the rubble . . . Wraith lifts his staff . . . before he had been hiding, running, etc . . . now he was ready to kill . . .*

As Wraith's emotions turn to one of warfare, a light seems to spark inside the fire creatures. Instantly their blazing forms burn suddenly brighter, the temperature rising even higher than it had been before. Without warning, their heads split open, as if they were opening some really big mouths, and flames pour outward from each one to all targets that had already struck them.

Two blasts head towards Fang, and he can resist neither (14+3[Roll+SPI] , 14+3[Roll+SPI]). The same can be said of Nogare (1+1[Roll+SPI], 4+1[Roll+SPI]), as the Grunt is thrown back by the twin infernal attacks. General Noval is caught offguard (3+1[Roll+SPI]), and neither he nor Horren Veldam (11+1[Roll+SPI]) can bring up effective defenses in time. Leth's party fares no better (Leth = 3+[Roll+SPI], Karuna = 6+[Roll+SPI], Drommlin = 11+[Roll+SPI], Polari = 3+[Roll+SPI]). No one was expecting such a sudden retaliatory strike at all.

8 DMG is dealt wherever and whenever the blasts hit, for the price of 5 SPL from the creatures per fire attack they've launched.

Rose was quite surprised that the Zora had spoken to her, but she quickly shook it off and nodded her head to show that she heard him. She gently brushed off the Zora's hand from her shoulder when she saw the creatures attack those that had attacked it. "Pardon me," she said. It looks like they will try to kill us, she thought to herself. Well, I can't let that happen.

She looked at each one carefully. She finally decided which one was weakest, so she moved in to attack with her sword [Creature #3]. Hopefully, she wouldn't miss. She had no desire to get burned by one of these things.

Leth looks down at his diminutive friend. "Good job there, buddy. I think you need to relax a little for a while. We'll manage just fine. Leth looks up. Hmm.... I wonder what arrows would do... Leth draws his bow and peers down the shaft, and let loose an arrow.

OOC: Well then . . . kinda disappointing to see how few people have posted here when compared to Castle Pursuit. Whatever, let's continue. See CP if you want my reason for not posting in so long . . .

IC:
Rose's sword comes down fast and strong, which may be the main reason that she misses (3+4[Roll+AGI]). The fire creature manages to step to the side, waiting for the sword to slide past its nimble form, then unleashes another Fire spell attack on Rose. At point blank range, and still in the middle of her own strike, there is nothing she can do avoid it or shield herself from taking the full 8 DMG (5+1[Roll+SPI]).

Leth's arrow lances through the air, impacting against . . . the wall. (3+3[Roll+AGI]). His target instantly retaliates with another shot of flaming badness, but perhaps because of the distance that the blast must travel, Leth is able to throw up enough protection to negate half of the damage he would normally receive (20+1[Roll+AGI]).

Shada darts forward unexpectedly, bringing her twin Deku Daggers to bear on the fourth creature. Her blows connect beautifully (20+7[Roll+AGI]), dealing a good 11 DMG. But the creature doesn't seem fazed, and immediately retaliates with a ball of fire that blows the Sheikah back to the where the rest of the group stands (14+1[Roll+SPI]).

Nogare stopped his sword once he saw that he missed his target. He made a sharp glance over his shoulder, he saw that he was surrounded, though not all of them were looking at him. Knowing he should never have his back to an enemy, he side-stepped out of the center of the circle of flaming foes, and glanced at one that had passed him. He leaped up (knowing that his Jump spell had already been cast), and thrust the blade down at the fire creature, as a finishing blow (or, as those who haven't played TP call it Down Thrust)

Fang was prepared to attack again! Raising both hands, he commanded the elements once again, to come to his aid. Thoughts flooded his mind like the elements he was commanding. Should I use the second stone? He thought, conjuring all the energy he could.

OOC: Sorry for such a crappy post. I'll edit it later... :(

Leth stumbles back from the blow. He pants heavily. Karuna, on the other hand, raises his sword once again and, leaping into the air, (unusual for a goron) and aims his blade at the nearest creature; Drom does likewise.

OOC: Wow . . . this one's going downhill. Just because Wraith isn't in this topic doesn't mean that this isn't the more important of the two topics (because quite frankly, in my opinion, it is)! Come on everybody, let's get this going again!

Oh, and Sovelis, I did ask RG to delete your post; you already read my PM about it, so you understand why, right? I did manage to use the magic of Copy & Paste on your post before Draug showed up, though, so if you want to use parts from that post, let me know and I'll send a PM your way with it.

IC:
Just as before, Nogare's blade cannot seem to find its target (7+5[Roll+AGI]). The shining golden blade in his hands dashes through the flames, but wherever it goes the flames just seem to part before it, so the end result is that it never actually does any damage. The first creature once again launches out a blazing ball, hitting Nogare right on (12+1[Roll+SPI]) and dealing another 8 DMG to the Vassal.

The fourth creature turns as it notices that the ground beneath it is beginning to shake without reason. Looking around, it notices too late the figure of Fang launching his Elemental Burst. The floor cracks beneath the creature and a flurry of earth and mud flies up to engulf it entirely (14+5[Roll+SPI]), dealing a heavy 14 DMG to the creature. Cut down to half the health it had previously held, the thing staggers about for a few seconds, not bothering to launch a counter-strike.

Karuna's Deku Sword hurtles towards the third creature, but it too leaps into the air and curves itself around the swinging sword (17+2[Roll+AGI]), landing squarely on the Goron's back. A burst of fire erupts from it, blasting Karuna to the ground (12+1[Roll+SPI]). Drommlin's Spear attack at the sixth creature meets with similar fate (3+3[Roll+AGI]), and the burst of flames also throws him back (17+1[Roll+SPI]).

Things are looking bad, Noval finally acknowledges. The creatures, though weakened are nowhere near defeat. And yet the same cannot be said for the adventurers; they are at a severe disadvantage against these things despite their superior numbers And then, without warning, appears a glowing aura from somewhere behind him. A watery-like glow emerges to cover the hallway and all its occupants. Turning around, he spots Kamas standing there, a giant azure orb held in his arms.

"Abominations of life," the river-like words flow from the Zora's mouth. "Begone." The sphere held in his hands erupts outward, and the hallway is immediately flooded away with a mighty wave of water - an Elemental Explosion of the greatest enemy of the fires. Plunged beneath it's mighty force, only two of the creatures, the 4th and 5th, are even able to partially shield themselves from the attack, and it doesn't help the fourth any more than the others.

When the floodwaters reside, only the fifth remains, struggling to even stand. Its flaming form is almost nonexistent, revealing the previously blazing ash-colored body beneath it. It is nothing more than a black ball, with pointy appendages extending where arms and legs would normally be. Though it still remains alive, the water has drained it of any magical energy it had before, leaving it weak and helpless.

Noval's blade slashes through it without difficulty, and the fight is finally over.

Rose considered asking why the Zora didn't flood the hall sooner, but decides against it. Anyone who can heal is the last person I want to make mad, she thought to herself as she attempted to get the access water out of her hair. Out loud, she said, "Well, I guess we go on from here." Then she added in a dryly humorous voice, "Maybe the Hakiems wouldn't have noticed all the noise we made."
