Victor eyes suddenly shown brightly.

"I've got it!" He proclaimed.

"In music, the term "feminine" refers to an unaccented beat or syllable. So a song may have a "feminine ending," meaning it ends on an unaccented beat."

Then Victor realized that his answer fell short.

"But how could that be translated into a name? Perhaps something music related, such as 'Rhyme?'"

OOC: Would that be on the right track? I know it has nothing to do with Shadowlink13's answer, but I did look it up in the dictionary.

OOC: Feminine can mean many things the most obvious in womanly or female. Less obvious would be things like delicate, fair, gentle, graceful, soft or pure.

Suggestions that I have so far are Ghost/Spirit, Eclipse, Silhouette, Shade and Dusk. Is one those the correct answer or am I totally off the mark?

OOC: I feel really dumb. I have been thinking about it for twenty minutes. Either I am being too broad minded or too narrow minded. I came up with an off-the-wall answer, "Omega," as in Alpha and Omega. I can't justify Darilan knowing what Omega means; it is Greek, and it probably isn't right anyway. One of my problems is I can't figure out what 'sound' means. As a part of being narrow minded I keep thinking that the name should end in "A," being that most words in Spanish that end in "A" are feminine.

OOC: Okay, still nothing listed has been correct. But I will go ahead and tell you, SL, that you are right about feminine. By feminine I do mean a feminine word, as in one that ends in 'a'. Sometimes being narrow minded is a good thing.

Now, if you want to get the answer, just say something like that in character. Alpha will pick it up from there.

"I think 'feminine' has to do with a language. In some languages I have studied, feminine nouns have signifing features. Some end in 'a' and others have prefixes or suffixes. Is the name a different language?"

OOC: I already said a while ago that you don't need to translate anything to a different language. But hey, I'll use it. I'm bored of this topic; time to move on and get Part 4 started!

IC: Alpha thinks about this for a few seconds. "I don't know. It's possible that it's in a different language, but I doubt it..." His voice trails off as he considers the other part of Darilan's idea. 'A feminine noun...but that doesn't tell me what to do with sound and shadow...'

His eyes bulge wide as inspiration hits him. 'Sound. Shadow. Sound of the shadow. The sound of the word 'shadow' ends with an 'o' sound. O makes it masculine. The riddle is telling us to take the masculine sound of the word shadow and change it so it ends with a feminine sound!' He quickly substitutes letters in his head...

And his breathing stops. Finally, the answer is a name he does recognize! And yet... 'That's impossible,' Alpha thinks. 'She's dead! But still, if there's a chance...'

Without warning, Alpha leaps over the group and darts off, slipping into Shadowmeld without even realizing it.

A few minutes later, Alpha's voice is heard from the north. "Shada!"

"Where'd he go? Damn shadowmeld!"

He sighs. It didn't matter anyway, so he turned to the group.

"Shada, I never would have got that. Where do you think he's off to?"

"I don't know Grenada but I would like to know who this Shada person is. The north forest is filled with shadows, I think I'll check there. You can come if you want, just try and keep up." Julian says and then darts off following the coastline of the lake. His footprints stamped into the wet sand.

'Hmm... Shada would've never have guessed that.' Raven says and then he continues on his journey to Peaktop.
