Damn Hyrulean torches... Why is everything so different here? In Incinera all we needed to do was lift it out of the ring, but instead these dumb elves decided to lock them in tight. That girl seems to know how it's done...
Hiro moved silently to where Aria was studying the other torch and asked simply, "How do you remove the torches? Where I come from they're made much differently."
If I was sure these people wouldn't freak out, I'd just light up the room with my heat energy discipline. That is, if I could find something to burn... Doesn't matter, the light issue will be solved very soon.

After studying the torch and taking in Hiro's question, she managed to remove the torch from the wall. "Something like this," she said. She re-entered the unlit room, but she didn't expect the torch to illuminate the room very well. But any light was good light, so she carefully walked further, keeping an eye and ear out for anything suspicious. [Awareness Check]

Hiro watched as Aria undid the latch that held the torch in its holster. Really? It was that simple? I must still be exhausted from the trip... Hiro mimicked Aria's actions on the second torch; it too slid easily from the ring binding it to the wall and into his hands.
The assassin stepped softly into the darkened room and held the torch in the air, attempting to maximize its effectiveness. He hoped the dancing orange light would shed some... light on the what lay in the room. [Awareness Check]

It couldn't have been too intelligent to enter such a place with a starving satchel, empty, barren, carrying only the sound of the leather passing along the callouses of his legs. He simply couldn't find himself of any use when his main purpose of existence was being old and grumpy and perhaps arguing the evidence of whether or not he did or did not snore under the veil of night.
The others scattered around him stretching arms and ears to illuminate the room with their senses but gorons weren't known for any sensitivity or subtle nature when it came to searching, they simply plowed onwards, leaving danger to greet them wherever they went.
And with that in mind, Rosen decided to trace his body along the wall nearest to the torches which were inconveniently cemented to the wall. It didn't really matter, he had no intention of trying to seduce it out of its socket.
No, no, he was letting the embers trickle down the fuse of one of his bombs that had appeared from the bosom of his pockets. With the indisputable sounds of a toe in pain and the languor of darkness shedding a veil over almost all of the room, the goron decided that there must be something hiding near the center.
"Vic, or whatever you're name is." He yelled out, his voice crashing into the shadows that had clothed the bard.
"Bombs away!"

Saber found nothing in his search for food, but that didn't stop the hunger from beating at his insides.
Furious, he began scrambling even crazier, scooting over to the side of the room as his arms and legs flailed everywhere, desperate to find ANYTHING edible. I will find food, dammit! [Find Sustenance + 2 Will]

That Goron... what is he thinking? ... Wait, that's it!
"Everyone get ready, when that bomb goes off this room is gonna light up!" Hiro said to the crowd, readying himself for the inevitable flare of clarity the room was about to receive.

He had a good idea, but by the time the bomb went off, there might not be much left to see. In order to see what was in the room before the bomb destroyed everything. Darilan tried to use the light from the burning fuse to get a sense of what was in the room [Awareness Check].

OOC: This is getting nice and old school. I like it. Creativity. I'm going to do things out of the order in which they were posted because it will make more sense, and this isn't a battle or anything like that.
IC: Darilan's question would soon be answered, as Rosen's bomb soared into the center of the room. The fuse was lighted, but only slightly, and it did not provide much light. As the bomb exploded, though, Rosen's idea came to fruition - the entire room was illuminated for an instant. It was also filled with the screams of a certain Bard, who had been a bit too close to the blast radius. Let's just say his ears were ringing at this point.
Only a few things were revealed by the blast's light. There seemed to be only two creatures in the room: Victor and Worru. In the center of the room was a raised platform, likely what the Bard stubbed his toe on. Otherwise, the room was filled with piles of something shiny. Probably gold or treasure or some such thing, but no one would be interested in any of THAT.
But it was only an instant of light, and the room soon grew dark again. Perhaps even darker than before. Thankfully, there were a few torch-carriers to shed light on small areas of darkness.
Speaking of areas, Aria was the first to enter the rooms depths. In her wandering, she found herself in the lower left corner of the square room. The Gerudo's torch only revealed this small section of the room, which contained two chests.
Hiro was smart to request assistance with the torch, and soon found himself in the room, illuminating the left-center area of the room. In it was a generous pile of gold and silver coins, grails, and other treasures. Nothing of use... on the surface, anyways.
Taint finds himself in the far-right corner of the room, which also contained a pile of similar treasures. His Deku stick was being eaten by the fire rather quickly, though - it would be wise of him to find another source of light, quick. Perhaps among the piles of treasure?
Saber just barely manages to find some sustenance. Namely, a tiny Scarab, scuttling across the floor in front of him. It looked rather edible, and he would be able to catch it easily if he tried...
OOC: For the record, folks, the room is a 3 x 3 grid. Here's the layout:

_______
|1|2|3|
----------
|4|5|6|
----------
|7|8|9|
~~~~~~~
The entrance hallway is 8, so you don't want to move there. For those of you who moved in this turn, I rolled for your position. If the rest of you don't specify where you go, then I'll roll for you as well. But it is dark, so unless you have some form of light, you won't do much wherever you go - unless it's already illuminated by someone else. But remember to be creative!
Something is moving!
The mercenary's hands darted out, catching the Scarab with relative ease. Yes, this looked nice and edible. Although, now that the mercenary thought a bit, it was quite rude to eat without sharing. Maybe he should just wait until he found more. Or hold onto it and give it to someone who really needed it. So for now, he put the Scarab in his bomb bag. It was really the only container he had, and besides, what could it do? Little bugs couldn't cause fire as far as the mercenary knew.
But wait, where was he? Hmm, it seemed rather dark still. There were two people wakling around with torches, and another person whose fire was getting dangerously close to his hands...if only he had some way to get light into the room. Oh! There were shiny things all over the ground! If he could just get a beam of light into the room, maybe it would have some kind of medieval disco ball effect. Whatever a disco ball was.
Running back into the entrance hallway, where there was still light, he pulled out something from beneath his tunic--a necklace composed of a chain with a silver V on it--and started moving it about, trying to catch the light and reflect it into the cavern. [Shiny Check]
OOC: Haha, shiny check.
IC:
Quite a bit of treasure there... A little extra coin may prove useful to my search efforts. More importantly, there may be something that could help us advance in all this gold.
Hiro propped his torch against the wall and dug through the treasures at his feet, searching for anything of use to them. [Awareness Check] Of course, he did not hesitate to take some of the riches for himself; he proceeded to line his pockets with coins and other small valuables.
What he saw in the quick flash of light was enough to convince Darilan that it was safe to enter the room. The raised platform in the middle of the room intrigued him. He had heard of switches that needed to be stepped on to activate. He walked into the room, slowed down when he thought he was near the center of the room, and felt around with his feet for the platform. Once he found it, he tried to step on top of it to see if anything would happen. [Square 5]
Taint illuminated the spot he was standing in, and without skipping a beat, began collecting the treasures under him. Grabbing every shiny coin or item that caught his eye, he stuffed them into his bag of rupees, and only then he realized that his torch was running out. Taint placed his bag back on his belt, and removed another Deku stick from his bag, and lighting it off of the flames from the first stick. When the original deku stick fizzled out, he abandoned it, and traveled aimlessly towards other dark parts of the room, namely towards square #4.
While some of the others greedily collected the treasure, Aria was focused on the two chests she had discovered. She wondered what was in them and if it would prove helpful to the group. The only thing stopping her from opening them was the fact that the contents were unknown. "Never fight a snake blindfolded," her mother had often quoted to her. It was certainly advice the Gerudo planned on following.
She knelt down next to the two containers and examined them. It was certainly a worthy question as to if they were locked, but Aria was more concerned about traps, so it was that she was primarily checking for. [Awareness Check for Booby Trapped Chests]
The boy truly couldn't check the room he was in, nor use any of his skills at the moment. For, if anyone could see, the boy had been unlucky enough to be close to the bomb when it went off, though not as much as Victor had been. Even still, the bright flash and the sound got him, forcing his eyes shut and his hands to cover his pointed ears.
"Can! We! Not! Do that! Again!" he asked, although the hybrid yelled it out as more of a command. But in all truth, wouldn't anyone else do the same? Even if it was slightly his own fault for standing in the same room as the bomb.
OOC: All stats same as before.
Phillip stood stock still as he stared into the darkness, feeling slightly embarassed that Victor was heading into the possible battle zone before everyone else present. He had heard some others tell stories of Victor's sometimes cowardly and frightened, childlike demeanor in the face of danger. He discarded these stories as false. Perhaps Victor was not the fool he had believed him to be.
The cloaked young man moved out of Aria and Hiro's way as they returned to the previous room to ivestigate the torches. As Taint pushed by with his homemade Deku Torch, Phillip again stepped out of the way to avoid his hair catching fire as the Zora carried on. This was not good. Phillip Gorman was not one who liked to feel in the way. All of this sidestepping and moving about for others bothered him. He stepped into the unlit room and began to look around.
Nothing. He could see nothing.
Aria and Hiro had been successful in lifting the torches, and as they disappeared into the room he suddenly felt left behind. The blast from the grumpy Goron's bomb startled him, but he now had an idea of how this room was set up.
At least there aren't any baddies in here...
Feeling slightly useless, the Calatian-born grunt moved to his left, meeting up with the Gerudo named Aria. His logic in doing so was that redheads needed to stick together. This was backed by his burning desire to find something to light a path of his own. Following strangers got on his nerves.
He thought for a moment about snatching her torch as she examined the two chests for traps, after which he would run to another area of the room, throwing a mocking "nah-nah!" behind him. He decided against it, of course. Phillip was no fool; Aria looked like she could beat his sorry hide if she so tried. Choosing a wiser course of action, he used her torchlight to scan this area of the room for anything he could use for light, as well as anything that may prove useful to himself and the others.
