As you travel from the North, you see what appears to be a man. As you draw closer, more details about him become apparent. He's wearing a wrinkly, faded, hunter's orange shirt, and some forest green pants. He seems to be wandering around, possibly looking for something, but maybe not.

When you get within hearing range, you can hear him shouting random things like "The world hath become doomed!" and "He who seeks peace of soul shall find shattered glass!" between obscenities and other nonsensical phrases. Spotting your arrival, he rushes to your side and in a slurred tongue he announces his arrival narratively.

After glaring at you he begins with a new saying "You have found a cave, enter now and all your fantasies will go away!" followed by a creepy styled dance eerily reminiscient of a so-called treasure dance, but with flailing arms, and a noticeable lack of rhythm, matching up to no possible music.

"March with me and become the third wonder of the world, 25 rupees" All the while keeping a mystical straight face that gives the illusion he could be crazy.

"What are you orders Half-Sergeant .?." You aren't really sure what name he said. It came out as more of tongue-clicks than anything else with a medium, high, low pitch transition. But at least he's quiet as he seems to be waiting for you to address him.

Arco didn't find it too strange that the stranger was coming so close to passer-bys, even when he found himself standing adjacent to the howling man. Though the Sheikah did feel a little uncomfortable with the... "dancing." But as if propped up by a frame, he waited and observed the very... queer mannerisms of the other.

A break in the movement and sound. Arco waited. Thick silence filled the pause.

"Hello," he said finally.

"Hello, good sirs. Drinks, no no no no no no no don't drink, no siree, bad for your liver. That reminds me, don't go into collapsing caves. You'll hurt more'n your liver if ya do. Have you guys ever been to South Hyrule? I have, that's where I sometimes lived a while ago, I have a house there. It's made of wood, and there's a front door. That's made of wood too. Have you found any of this?" He says while holding up a stick of Deku wood. "This is what I used, it's called Deku Wood, it's also made of wood. And now I'm stuck here, in the north. Of Hyrule, the country---island place. CAN...YOU... HELP... ME?!?" He says slowly in an extremely stupid loud voice.

Feeling edgy, Arco glances at Denning to his side before trying to make sense of the man's gabbling.

South Hyrule? Deku Stick? Help you?

"Er..." replies Arco. He feels around on himself for his spare Deku Stick (you'd think a 4-foot long branch'd be easy to find on a body) and decides on answering, "What sort of help?"

"Well, I was talking to my boss, he's not made of wood of course, and he said the entrance to the Northern Cave is blocked by thick ice. You'll need the fire rod." He stops... "Or is that what he said? Do you remember?" He seems to be thinking, before turning around. "Anyway, follow me..." He points to a wagon packed full of Deku Wood "I was up here getting some of that Deku Wood, and the salesman went out of his way to give me the best deal, the wood was only 50 rupees per bundle. And... Ah HA! That's right... he told me to go get Deku wood, and none of that fake plastic kind. Anyway, they decided to move the North South Pass, and now I can't get there. I did get the wood though, can you tell? So now I'm stuck until they bring the Pass back here. I need to build him a back porch, do you think I should start. It could be a while, 'cause it takes at least three people to move a mountain. Are you going to help?"

Arco listens with a facial expression that feels like one that could be described as "polite." Unfortunately, it turns out looking more like "completely confused."

Er no, I don't 'remember'...

The Sheikah thinks about saying," But isn't the Pass over there?" But half-gestures westward instead. He thinks about mentioning something about a "giant spider named Gohma" but bites his lip instead. He thinks about asking some more questions but instead finds himself nodding subtly.

"Ok."

I think.

*After observing this very odd man from affar K-Shat closes in to speak to this crazy man* "Hello, I am K-Shat the Grandest Theif in all of Hyrule...Ummmm, I don't believe you have said your name. Anyway, I think that is just a stupid idea to build a back porch, someone of your "skill" should build something like a bomb-shelter, a fighting arena, or something like a hut to live in. And I don't know about moving the North-South Pass, maybe someone could move you to it or you can move there yourself. Other then that I like you, your a funny guy, but you also are creepy and stupid." *K-Shat then walks away joyfully*

Clearly the man has mental issues. He could see that as he appoached, and the guy shouted instead of talked. He feels bad for him when K-Shat says such rude things to his face. He crosses paths with K-Shat and says, "Watch what you say, or you shall recieve cruel punishment."

*Seeing this man running up on him trying to threaten him K-Shat extends his hand and says* "Well hello, I am K-Shat the Grandest Theif in all of Hyrule. I don't believe that we have met, you are?" *Waiting for his response K-Shat continues* "I have seen you around threatining me and the like but I have never got the chance to meet you. You seem like you would be a grand comrade, since you fear not to speak your mind which means most likely you will not fear on the battlefield. Anyway about this man I was just speaking my mind telling him what I think. He did not seem to care much, even though you have to have a working brain to care about anything."

He doesn't understand what I am trying to say. Darilan fumes. He expected the low-life not to comprehend his meaning. "It is not a threat. I do not like your attitude, and neither will anybody else. Keep that up, and you will have no one but yourself, not even me on the battlefield." Darilan walks on. He has had enough already.

*K-Shat sit there stuned* 'Well what's that guys problem. Well he seemed like a good Comrade I guess he didn't want to serve the cause. Well there are others, he will not be missed, I still think that I will cover his back in the heat of battle. I have hope in him still.'

Arco watches the ensuing conversation quietly, swiveling his head back and forth between the two.

"Threats," observes the vagabond. "Commentary thinking on the Deku's part, and... deep words of caution from the Sheikah?"

Almost fading to the background, Arco stands stone-like, wondering what the man--the one that was there originally--was thinking about all of this.

*K-Shat seeing this unknown Shiekah walks up to him and said* "Hello I don't believe that we have met. I am K-Shat, the Grandest theif in all of Hyrule, and who might you be?" *Waiting for his response K-Shst pushes on the conversation* "Do you know who that was or what his problem was? I don't believe that I have done anything to disrespect him or anyone else to make him mad at me, do you know?"

Arco blinks as if to say, "Wha--you're talking to me? Oh, dear..."

"K-Shat, Thief of Hyrule... Grandest thief of Hyrule? He is not the only one..." considers the Sheikah, half-closing his eyes. Just as you wonder if he fell asleep, he looks up--no, down--and peers at your soul with the flat edge of his eyes.

"Arco." He brings his gaze up from K-Shat and places it on the departing Darilan.

"Darilan?" Arco asks. "I think he is a Scribe" --"and he knows what he believes and isn't afraid to stand up for what that may be," he recalls to himself.

"But that's not a... problem," Arco continues, not having quite gotten the colloquiallism of phrases like "What's your problem!?"

The next sentence takes some thought. Arco shifts his weight to the other leg before answering,

"I think he is a polite person. And polite people don't really like impolite peop--er, actions. Like telling people that they are stupid and dancing around while you--er, you know what I mean by 'you'--do it."

Arco tries to laugh nervously to let off some of the stress of the moment, and adds internally, "Not saying that you do that or anything, eheh". Of course, it is several minutes before he realizes that he never verbalized the words. Too late.
