They had reserved a room, on the second floor. A room that would keep their voices shut in, so that no other guests could hear what conspires behind closed doors.

Seven strange visitors arrive in Rauru Town, each one uniquely garbed, but all dressed in the same fashion : black clothing, with black sunspecs.

They seem to be an organization of some sort, the disturbing part is that no one knows what their "club" practices. Perhaps they are some sort of terrorist faction, or perhaps they excel in organized crime, the life of hitmen and crooked mafias. Or, perhaps they are just a group of odd friends that enjoys playing Poker in the closed confines of an inn chamber with the door locked tight. Whatever the reason, they give me the creeps. I've decided to investigate, as far as that will take me. Would you like to "spy" with me?

I can understand that, Denning, what with being wanted and all. The lighting in the inn is probably less than perfect since the Moblin bombing, so there should be a good amount of shadow for you to hide in.

Blank climbs into an air duct leading inside, and within no time he is crawling through the ventilation shafts. It's a pretty uncomfortable fit.

Sure hope Denning found a better way to check them out.

He reaches their reserved room, room 2F32, and peers through the vent at the seven phenominal visitors. There is one who seems to be directly more assertive than the others. He is more likely the leader of the operation. From first glance, he appears to be Hylian, due to the similar fashion stylings of the seven in question. But at closer inspection, Blank declares that this man is without a doubt Sheikan. Unlike that of Denning's and Alpha's, or Arco's for that matter, this guy's hair is actually deep purple and spiked. he posesses a devious grin, and in his hand he holds a tattered document of sorts. Through the silence in the room, he speaks.

Inspect the room for any... unwanted visitors. You know the method of disposal.

A muscular Goron steps forward. Blank nearly bursts in shock to see this one wearing a suit and tie as well. A bit of a change from the usually naked Gorons. He listens to what the rock-man intends to say.

We've checked. There are none. Now can we please get down to business?

Very well. But remember... if anyone here's what goes down in this space, our "enterprise" could very well be finished. You see why I'm so picky when it comes to exterminating pesky civilians that can't keep their noses out of my business? I'm down to business at every second of the day. Don't you forget that, Martir.

The Goron nods and falls back into a hefty armchair, waiting for the meeting to commence.

Very well then. I'm glad you could all show up. Last time we planned this event, half of you went of drinking. Disappointing. But not this time. You better all be sober for this. The assassination will not fail. Our work is very important. Now, as you all know, the targets will be tricky. They're constantly moving, the idiots. Pah, adventurers. They're nothing! Now...

Who the hell are the targets?

A spiky, red-haired stands arms crossed in the corner. His features instantly betray him as being of Hylian descent. The ears give it away every time.

Quit the interruptions, Sloan. I've lready told you who. There are a good lot of adventurers that need purging, and we're the ones to do it. K.A. is in charge of this operation, and we won't fail. Already on the list is a Sheikah named Denning and a Hylian named Blank. We're awaiting more queries from the boss, so expect a few more. Both of them were seen a few days ago in this area. And, as I said, they're gone. Now, about method of assassination... Sloan, I've ruled out arsonism. Don't go setting things on fire, we're keeping a low profile. You'll get your chance when the boss reports.

The red-haired man curses under his breath and continues listening in silence.

Martir, we're not going to jump into "Organized Landslides" just yet. Damnit, Martir, is that really the most creative thing you've got? Jeez... just keep it quiet until you're given an objective. We do, however, have an opening for posession. Feris, you'll be in charge of the "Denning Mission." Don't mess up.

A silvery Zora stands and yells out in glee.

Excellent! Finally, a chance to perfect my honed posession skills. I'm going to read up on this "Denning" guy.

No need to. He's been posessed before. This will give you the oportunity for a lot of tricks. He may even go insane from the deja vu. Yes, yours will be an interesting one. As for the other, I'm putting Larson in charge.

A tall bald Human frowns and steps into the spotlight.

Explosives are my category, Daemon, and you know it. I did some research, this guy is strongly fire-based. How can explosives be best against him?

Your explosives are special! snaps Daemon, the leader. Just do it, Larson.

I'll brief you all on the details tomorrow. It's late, and I'm tired. I don't care if you go drinking. Just be here tomorrow.

--------------------------------

Shortly after, Blank meets back up with Denning outside.

What the hell? Did you hear them?

"I heard them alright."

Denning fips his hood on.

"This will take some work, we need to get them before they get us. As you may have heard, ive been posesed, I remember a few old hiding spots. We need to lay low. I am in somewhat of a guild you might say, we can stick with them. We need to get out of here, they obviously know us, so lets not get into town, ill meet you later. Until then, stay alive.

Denning dashes out of the inn, running twords Hyrule feild.

Waddles, who had been approaching the Inn, sees Denning rush out. Curious and worried, Waddles chases after him. He does not approach him, but does not try to hide. Waddles would be perfectly visible to Denning if he were to turn around. But for now he will follow until he is noticed.

Blank sighs and walks off towards Hyrule field, following Denning, but at a much slower pace.

Inside, the assassins retire. When they wake, new plans and conspiracies are born. Soon, the entire population of adventurers will be at stake. But why?

OOC : If you want to be a part of this whole thing, just post here in some signifigant way. This is a very important element to my characters' story.

OOC : Waddles has entered. I encourage more to enter! There are 7 strangers, and only 3 adventurers so far!
Also, this double post was somewhat necessary... It's a new day in Hyrule.

IC:

Inside the Inn, the strangers lay asleep. The sun seeps through the blinds of the closed window, stinging the eyes of the only awake assassin, Daemon. His sight is stormed by the piercing rays of the sun and he jettisons out of the musty covers of his bed and quickly puts the sunglasses back on his face. Then, he calls out sharply to his cohorts, who wake up.

Feris the Zora streches and yawns, the grasps his skull painfully.

Aw, my head... how much did I have...

Daemon calls to order the meeting and breifing of of the mission objectives. His eyes are hidden by the sunglasses, as are the eyes of the other assassins. The suits they wear are all alike. The only dead giveaways that they are different from each other are the little things, like build and hairstyle, to name a few.

I found a note by our door just now. The Boss's scouts have reported. A new objective has been added, and I want you to take care of it, Sloan. Alex Farr, or Waddles as he is called, and as you will call him, was mentioned in the report. He must be taken down immediately, before he discovers what's up. And, given your excellent rating and kill count, you're best for the job.

Usual method?

Yes. Arsonry is your ace, and it'll be useful for taking out a skilled warrior like Waddles.

Daemon sits back in his chair and yawns.

Tired this morning... Anyway, that's all the report entailed. Larson, Feris and Sloan have been given objectives in this mission. Martyr, Barlum, myself and Andrea may be left out, we'll see. The boss will report eventually. I'll keep my eyes open for the commencement signal. Now get the hell out of here. I don't want to see you until the next meeting. Go research your queries, or something. We'll be heading back to Calatia when we're done, so make the most of this "vacation."

The assassins laugh at Daemon's joke as they file out of the room.

OOC : Again, 4 more people are deeply wanted. Just post here in some signifigant way to let it be known that you intend to join up.

The shadows are always the perfect place to hide. Leave it to a Sheikah to prove that fact.

After seeing Denning, Blank, and Waddles running away the previous night, Alpha had gone to the room they'd been spying on. Seeing that extra company was not welcome, he had been forced to use his more...draining...form of espionage.

He'd stayed in the Void for most of the night, constantly using his Life Spell to rejuvenate his physical energy while keeping a small portal between the Void and Hyrule open in the room. The gate between worlds had been as small as Alpha could make it, barely big enough to fit his thumb through.

And it had all paid off the next morning, when the people had awakened. Alpha hadn't had a chance to meet Waddles personally yet, but had heard a few stories about the warrior. So he knew it was a bad when the Sheikah ordered the Hylian to take him out. With arsonism, no less.

Without wasting a single second, Alpha closes his current portal and opens another one, this time leaving the darkness of the Void and returning to Hyrule just outside of Rauru Town. 'Let's see...they were running...that way!' The Sheikah immediately takes off in the direction he'd seen the other three adventurers running last night. 'With any luck, I can locate them. Farore help me...'

OOC: Sign me up! This promises to be fun.

The next night brings the strangers back to the inn. Some have tans, others appear quite woozy and out of it. But they are all garbed familiarly. Black suits, black pants, black shades, black ties. The bald Hylian, Larson, holds a bag that may or may not hold remnants of a party earlier that day.

Daemon, who was basically in charge second-in-command to "The Boss," stands at the door with a look of sheer disgust on his face.

Can't even stay sober for one day? Jeez... the things I put up with... Who has the letter. The clerk told me we have mail.

Andrea, the gorgeous female assassin of Sheikah features, holds up a letter, and a parcel, and presents them to Daemon.

Right here, Daemon. Express shipping from Calatia. Faster than the swiftest of Rito. I would have expected no less from the boss.

Daeom steps forward and retrieves the mail.

Thank you, Andrea. Now then, we clearly have a new objective. But a parcel? Huh.

Larson yells from his bed after a surge of nausea and migrane hits him.

Just read the god-damned letter. I'm tired, just get this over with so we can all get get some shut-eye. Daemon!

Daemon glares at the Hylian, and rips the envelope open, dropping the postage warpping to the ground as he unfolds the neat letter with the odd insignia. He reads aloud the new report to his coworkers.
MRC-02-XXXX
Sethisan, Calatia

To whom it may concern,

A Sheikah going by the name of Alpha has been added to your list of objectives. Enclosed is a kit containing information on this target. You are to report to Matriarch Dublin when the task is completed. Use only select tactics. This a black-op, keep it as secret as you can. Kill all who become aware. Do not question the decision on the execution of said target. Dublin will report to headquarters when a response is confirmed.

Sincerely,

Secretary of Affairs, Killtactic Assassination.
Daemon stifles a laugh, but can't contain it when he sees his comrades making the same desperate faces as they try to hold back the laughter.

Hahaha! Dublin? Why's his sorry ass being brought along on this one. Fool can't aim worth half a rupee. But, if it's what the boss commands, so be it. Anyway...

He rips the parcel open and lets the packing foam and parcel paper drift lazily to the ground. The intense anticipation is lost at that moment, followed up by sighs and outcries of anger.

A Book? Bahaha, blare the lights, boys. We'll be up late with this one.

The leatherbound book is of rich texture, such a piece of literature would never be found in a Hyrulian library. The insignia of the Royal Calatian Research Facility is branded into the back cover, a sign of ownership and a dead giveaway as to the nativity of the book. Barlum, a lanky Human, takes the object from Daemon and looks it over.

It has no title. No description. But one thing is easily discernable, it's a novelization, and I'm willing to bet that it relates to this Alpha that the letter mentioned. Ah, here it is. Instead of a title, it simply says "Alpha" on the front. Typical hand-made crap that those clerics at the RCRF are always wasting their time on.

Daemon interrupts the Human, grabbing the delivery back.

I've already chosen the perfect girl for the job. Andrea, you're a Sheikah, like Alpha. Now, so am I, but you're better for this. You can maintain your health in the shadows far better than I, and your tactics are far more effective on Shadow-folk.

Andrea salutes in the trademark style of the group and nods her approval.

Just leave it to me... This Alpha... He will be no problem.

Daemon sighs heavily and waves casually to the others.

And that's that. Andrea is the only one who needs to worry about this book now, so the rest of you can get your sleep in. And, since Martir, Barlum and myself are currently undaunted by trivial targets of our own, be ready for another conference at any given time. Good night.

OOC : 3 available spots.

As Dogura emerged from the deku woods, he almost instantly leaped back into the shadows. There walking down the road were seven mysteriouse looking men. They entered the Stock Pot Inn, and slammedthe door shut behind them. Dogura follows them to the door, andf opens it half expecting them to rob the register. He creaks the door open just in time to see them advance up the steps. Dogura walked up to the lady at the register. Do you have any information on them? Dogura asked with an inquizitive look on his face. The lady shrugged her shoulders. They booked as "anonymouse"! I havent the slightest clue! Hmmm.. Dogura thinks as he ponderes thier arrival. He sits down in a chair, and waits for them to come back down the stairs. he was ready to wait for as long as he had to. he was going to figure out what they were up to.. if it was the last thing he did...

Suddenly, the woman turns to Dogura, and scowls at him. The tone in her voice is far ruder than it had previously been.

No loitering in the Inn. It's 8:00, and we are closing. Please reserve a room next time you wish to stay.

She extinguishes her candle and walks to the back room. A moment later, a door slams shut and you can hear the woman yelling at someone, but that is irrelevant.

You are forced to retire from the Inn.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

In the room, the strange men and woman assemble once more, but this time they are far from drunk or upset. They almost look... cheerful, in a sense. Do they enjoy killing the unsuspecting for money? Do they enjoy reaping the benefits of a defenseless person's "untimely death?"

Who knows. But, as usual, Daemon, the self-acclaimed leader of the operation, holds another letter in his hand. A new objective has been added. the life of another is at risk.

Goes by the name of Dogura. A samuraii, shifty type. Unpredictable, yet oblivious to his nearing demise. Martir, break a leg, 'cause you're in charge of this one.

No problem. So, he thinks he's some kind of Ninja, does he? Well, the largest of boulders can destroy the stealthiest of men. I - ah-AH-AH- Achooo! Sorry.. this cold, it's... it's tearing me apart.

From the darkness of dimly lit room, one of the assassins voices a comment.

Unusual for a Goron to catch a cold. Something's up.

Daemon nods in agreement, then lifts his shades from his eyes to get a better look at his Goron comrade.

You look like Hell, Martir... when this is over, get yourself checked out. This place has a lot of wierd diseases... don't want you diein' on us.

He turns to face the rest of the group.

Martir is capable of this task. Barlum, there's a good chance there'll be some work for you. I know you have yet to practice your sharpshooting in Hyrule. Dublin will be meeting with you all at your L.O.T. (Location of Tasks) to check in on you... strange, I know, but desperate security measures are required. Report here tomorrow. I have a good feeling we'll be given one more soon...

The light flickers out and the assasins retire to their beds.

OOC : Room for two more!

Dogura sighs, Gets up out of the chair, and walks out the door. Well, I havent a place to stay now. I guess I wouldnt be any more safe inside the Inn either. Dogura wanders from house to house looking for a place to stay, but with the arrival of the assasins, No one will trust Dogura. It will be a cold night tonight... i will have to seek shelter somewhere! He notices a cave, and a bale of hay near a locked barn. Not the greatest of choices... he mutters under his breath.

OOC:
Aw, crud, I completely spaced out. This puts Dogura in the position of being the only one so far who doesn't know he's being hunted... Gotta fix that now, don't we?

IC:

A cloaked figure arrives at the cave that Dogura has chosen to take refuge in. He gasps upon noticing the familiarity of the samuraii.

Dogura... so, we meet again. Sleep soundly, young warrior.

The shrouded figure scribbles a rough letter, setting it down beside the sleeping Vagabond. Lightning strikes in the distance, illuminating the surroundings. Had Dogura been awake at this time, the stranger's identity would be anything but secret. The note is written in a messy text, as if written by one who has had little experience in writing for some time.

Code: Select all

Dear Dogura,

The strange visitors at Rauru Town's famed Stock Pot Inn are indeed a group to be fearful of. They intend to murder you, samurai. Keep this a secret from everyone, except for those that you find out are also on the executable list. Be careful, Dogura. While you hold great power, these men are experts at merciless slaughter. I still recall your hospitaility, vagabond. Consider us even. May we someday cross paths.
Myst Wolfeye strides away from the town quietly, slipping into Shadowmeld to avoid being seen.

OOC: Isn't it just great how I use my trusty NPCs to solve all my dilemma's? ^_^

Still two spots, people. Just post here saying that you've been spying on them if you're interested, and I can consider you as a member of this little event.

Dogura awakens in a cold sweat... ughh.. how long have i been out? he mutters. He notices a piece of paper next to his tabi. It is a yellow color, of deterieration. He picks it up, and carefully tries to make out what it says... hmm.. Asassins? or just insane cons... whatever thier purpouse I will remain on guard. He stands up abruptly, and pulls a funny color rock out of a hiden pocket, and a bundle of Deku wood. He slams the rock on the cave wall, and sparks were sent everywhere. in no time he had a roaring firein front of him to keep himcool on such a stormy night... One thought buzzes around in his head like a swarm of bees... who left the note?...

An empty knock on the hollows of the wood keeping the organization in solitude rings outward in intrusive euphoria or maybe just intrusive…some mumbles follow in tow and the clanks and sloshing of wine bottles mix in with the sounds as well. Whoever’s behind that door is either extremely courageous or extremely stupid for daring to intrude on their sleep…or maybe some mix of the two, who knows really?

"Open,*hick up*...the damn door...*hick up* you tight wads!" were the words chosen for such asinine behavior and with those words were the stench that coupled it. It was tainted with the fowl stench of liquor, wine, some cheaply brewed beer, and some other concoction that seeped into the precarious room...must be another drunkard gone for a stroll through the halls.

“I said*hick up* open the *hick up* damn door!!!” The bellow echoed throughout the ruined estate as did the annoyed visitors in nearby and distant rooms. The next noise that followed was the melodic tune of the drunk beating on the door, perhaps finding amusement in his less then sober harmony that he was orchestrating.

OOC:I was hoping to play the waiting game for the last...and i assume the right hand man of this "boss"...but i suppose i'll have to make due with the second to last cohort...meh, we can't have everything we want i suppose.
