ANYWAY! Legal action can't be taken against hackers that hack meer fansites, mainly because said sites do nothing out of profit, so no profit is lost if said sites are hacked. This is the internets, meaning a lot of what would be termed 'illegal' in the real world, has no jurisdiction in the intrawebs world. So trying to sue said hackers for said reasons are all but impossible, especially if said hackers are all but anonmynous. The best you can do is contact the admins of 4chan and hope they take necessary action. Well, that and try to beef up everyone's security.

Bah... you think any judge will pay attention to a trial where the sole damage is through server bills?

Not to mention, it's impossible to track them, so who would you go trial with? Who? These sites are small potatoes. If ALL sites that got hacked had the oppurtunity to press charges in a legal court of law, the courts would be DRENCHED in said cases. It happens that often. I don't think a legal solution is the answer, at least not in the present situation.

And did you look up the history of 4chan? Someone (A rather famous person, I might add) tried to sue them, but the judge threw the case out... As you can see... You have to fight an internet war using internet rules.
