Looking forward to the design, pal. ;D Maybe today...?

I'm impatient!

Oh, and I got your latest installment up, Magmar. Check the front page for the update. I also mentioned this topic, so hopefully we'll get some more positions filled. >.> Could sure use more, I think.

I'd love to write a complete walkthrough of OOT! Here's my sample:
Part one: Gearing up
As you start a new profile, there will be a cutscene of link's nightmare. After that, you will see the Deku tree asking Navi to aid our hero on his quest. Some would disaprove of the aiding part...Nonetheless, she goes to your house  and tells you abruptly that she will be link's partner. Walk to through the door and saria will speak to and obviously say nothing of importance. You can explore kokiri forest if you want but  you will have to get the kokiri sword/dagger and a deku sheild. First the sword. Go to the area of fencing with a kokiri biy punching his fists in the air. There's a hole next to him. Go up to it so the action button says enter on it. Enter it and you will pop up in a maze like place with boulders rolling around. Here you would want to go to more of the North western side. There will be a big treasure chest which has the sword in it. Open it up and equip it on the start menu. With that you can fell enemies and cut grass! As of now you will need to collect forty rupees to buy the deku sheild(imperitave) from the kokiri shop. Though, feel free to collect any extra rupees to purchase anyting else you feel neccasary. Just heed that some items in the shop you can get for free by collecting in the forest and in the first dungeon you will enter shortly. You can collect rupees by throwing rocks, running through grass, or cutting grass clumps. The lost woods also has some rupees. It is accesable by climbing the vines near the exit, behind a house. Once you collect those rupees, go to the kokiri shop and purchase the deku sheild and equip it. Now you are set to go into the first dungeon! Hurry to the entrance of the deku tree's area. It is being blocked by a kokiri boy(you needed the sword and sheild equiped to make get out of the way. Proceed after you talk to him.

Aside from a few grammatical errors, and a little bit of fogginess on what you're talking about (at times), I'd say its excellent!

A bit of better organization would help, too. It's important in this case because the player's going to have to switch his/her focus between the game and the walkthrough, and losing your place between those switches can be annoying. Add some indents to separate paragraphs and fix those mechanics errors, and you'll be good to go!

I fixed it up. And btw, i did the first one on a hurrry. I guess i was exited that i could have gotten a job here :-[
Well here it is:
As you start a new profile, You will obviously need to give your link a name. As you complete that, there will be a cutscene of link's nightmare. After the hero's dream, you will see the Deku tree asking Navi to aid our hero on his quest. Some would disaprove of the aiding part...Nonetheless, she goes to your house  and tells you abruptly that she will be link's partner. Walk to through the door and saria will speak to and obviously say nothing of importance. If you are a new player, then feel free to explore kokiri village.

As of right now, you will have to get the kokiri sword and a deku sheild so the kokiri boy will alow you to gain entrance to the deku tree's quaters. First the sword. Go to the area of fencing with a kokiri boy punching his fists in the air. There's a hole next to him. Enter it and you will pop up in a maze like place with boulders rolling around. Here you would want to go to more of the North western side. There will be a big treasure chest which has the sword in it. Open it up and equip it on the start menu. With that you can fell enemies and cut grass!
Now that you have the sword, you will need to collect forty rupees to buy the deku sheild from the kokiri shop. Though, feel free to collect any extra rupees to purchase anyting else you feel neccasary. Though, you must heed that some items in the shop you can get for free by collecting in the forest and in the first dungeon you will enter shortly. It is being blocked by a kokiri boy. Proceed after you talk to him.
Once you enter that door, you're in a small hall. Past the hall is the dek tree. Once you walk up to him, he will ask you to go inside him(creep). Do so to enter the first dungeon.

Ah, I don't know, pal. The walkthrough content itself seems good enough, but the overall writing leaves much to be desired... There's still a good bit of errors in there, it could definitely use some sprucing up still. Only the best for TDC, after all!

Anyways, I don't think we need to worry too much about the walkthroughs here at TDC, although they are far from perfect. That's not really a staff job as much as it is contributing to the site. Staff jobs are more like news reports, main page stuff, eh? But, yeah, even if you want to help update the walkthroughs here at TDC, your submissions would need to be clearer and more grammatically correct. (Not to mention spelling...) So, work on that, eh? And we'll see about getting them updated.

On the subject of walkthroughs, we really should be getting with the times here at TDC. Does no one have the necessary setup to make video walkthroughs? If someone does, would one mind making/contributing some here at TDC? I'm going out on a limb here, I know, but it doesn't hurt to ask.  ;)

And, on the subject of staff positions again, since there haven't been many takers here at TDC (::)) I was actually thinking about looking on other sites in the community. However, I kinda don't want to do this, as it seems somewhat... rude... to me. That is, asking for site staff on other Zelda fan sites that might need their own staff members. So, what do you guys think? Should I try it? Do you think it would yield any results? If I can be convinced, I'll do it!

Oh, and I'm still looking here, so, if you've been thinking about applying, do it already! Though I doubt it'll happen if it hasn't already. :'( Maybe some of you have friends who are good writers and Zelda fans? I don't know... am I grasping at straws here? One can always dream...

I actually started working on an OoT walkthrough awhile ago, but I haven't worked on it for ages. :-*

As for intersite staff requests, it sounds all right. But as you say, it probably should be at sites who probably aren't looking for staff members. I wonder...is ZeldaBlog in need of staff members? If not, maybe you can ask there? Not sure if you'd get an an acception, as they're probably busy writing their own blogs, but it sounds like it's worth a shot...albeit a long one.

It would be nice if ZB had some kind of community update feature, where I could contact its writer to get a shout out for possible staff. Maybe it does, anyone been there recently? It's down right now anyways, so I can't do anything.

Anyways, I was thinking more along the lines of site forums, so unless ZB has such a feature I can't see how I'd ask for staff there... unless I tried to contact some of the people who comment there or something. Yeah.

Mmm... Maybe some of our other affiliates are "up for grabs," so to speak?

I would write walkthroughs, but last time I did that (sinking hours and hours writing out what I came across) Jack completely scrapped it. My TP Walkthrough is nowhere to be found. I blame Alpha for being so superior  :P

Anyways, while I can't guarantee that I can find things, I'll definitely report anything Zelda related that I find. You can at least count on me for that. Other than that, I'm completely useless. -.-

Edit: And I'd be happy to be a mainpage writer. Jack had me doing that for a bit a long time ago, and I'm much better with grammar now. If you ever need me to compile information into one readable frontpage report, I'd be happy to take a shot at it KP. If you need a sample from me, give me some information to write about.

It'd be nice if we got the PH stuff done. The guide for it is almost completely empty.

I've been checking out our affiliates, yeah, and if I did it I'd do it on those sites. I don't know what constitutes as "up for grabs", though...

I do remember that, ZV. Technically, unless you quit you're still staff at TDC. Ha! Still, I would like a sample if possible. Looks like you'd want to do news, so, I suppose you could find your first story and present that; it would even be a good test of your news skills. Or, write a review like I suggested, just as a sample. Anything you can think of, really. And news should be simple so, you wouldn't have to worry too much about your writing. Short, clear posts are what I'd look for in news reports.

Oh, and I suppose that would mean you'd have to be actively looking for news, so, yeah. If you can do that, send in your sample!

Yes, PH does need a walkthrough. Forgot about that! Any takers?

Ummm... Alrighty then, what the heck kind of Zelda related news could I come up with right now? Well... I'll look around and see if I can compile a report about the possible new Zelda game. I know most of the people on the site know already, but it hasn't been put on the front page. News gathering isn't my bag baby- but I'll try. I can't guarantee weekly updates either, because I'd eventually run out of things to report.

Well, E3 is coming up. Maybe you can do that?
