Mommy issues are no excuse for killing the only healer in your party.  Having a healer in your party is an excuse for killing the only healer in your party.

Which is Cloud's fault really, because who only relies on one healer?

Well, technically, anyone on the team can be a healer. Aerith just happened to have Limit Breaks that could heal.

Cid was my healer.  After Aeris left the party, that is.

That's correct, but only because her int stat was naturally very high and her limit breaks, as Mags said, were all about healing, removing status ailments, resurrection and invulnerability.  With FF7's materia system, everyone is viable as a healer as long as you've leveled up enough materia.
