The end of the month is coming up, and its time to award the accolades of Best RPer to the player who has done the best roleplaying in HA2 this month.
For a player to win the RP award of the month, one nomination ("I nominate X") by a player of good standing must receive at least two confirmations ("I confirm the nomination"). If someone is opposed to and deems unworthy that player nominated, their counter-vote will require than an additional confirmation be voiced for the nominated player to win. Also, more than one person may be nominated, but only one player may win each month: the first player to receive the two uncontested (i.e. without countervotes) confirmations will be the winner. The Royal Guard may make a final evaluation before awarding the TP to the player.
This is a complete revamp of the old rules, which were as follows:
Here's how it works: nominate in a post one player whom you consider to have rped the best this month. You may only nominate one person.
The five players with the most nominations will then go to a run-off poll. Winner of that receives one TP as their prize.

I nominate Weien, because I felt his posts were high-quality all month, and he really made them fun to read. Good Job, Weien!

*grateful smile* Thanks guys, that really means a lot to me.
Can't imagine nominating only one person though. We have so much awesome stuff in only this one part of a month; from Pende's very-creative character creation, to what I'd call 'perfected nostalgia' courtesy of Rugger (but I don't think an NPC has so much need for TP, if you read me), to some amazing stuff in lesser quantities (Red's relationship with his 'old master,' Sheng Long's ways of expression) which we all definitely want more of. But you can really sense that there's invisible time and energy that was devoted into character perfection--for a lot of people! Including some of those I didn't mention, and those deserve a thumbs up as well (well, you know who you are).
But for me on the whole, I think it boils down to Darilan and Grenada. Darilan is so, so... realistic that it blows me away. People too often think that "Order (alignment) = Goody two shoes" but Darilan sets us right. Here's someone who knows what he's fighting for, but still has specific dislikes, pet peeves, and judgments (possibly about people, and that's the juicy stuff). Add on a promising Wyndisis charade and off we go! In some ways, Grenada is a contrasting figure; for one the chipper way he helps us perceive his Deku Scrub heritage somewhat does away with realness, but you feel that that's what the writer wants. Is it just me, or does every sentence (or at least every post) of Grenada's have this... 'elated' feel to it? How on earth MG manages it, search me, but I daresay that it's effective.
It's even present in the darker, more ethereal posts over where The Dark Man Calls in The Deku Forest, where SL's word-weaving really shines (or doesn't shine, aha). I can't express how hard of a call it is for me (I'm not known for my strong opinions) but I nominate Darilan, for reasons above.
But again, awesome work everyone on a great start to HA2, we all deserve to be proud of ourselves, really. Anyway, there's my tuppence.

Alright, well i don't think it's beyond the realm of imagination to declare Arco the winner. In lieu of his near unanimous support (sans his vote for Darilan),
Congratulations Arco, and enjoy your new TP!

Thanks again--honored, really!
I must mention, however, how consistently and bogglingly sophisticated your vocab is... "sans" isn't even on dictionary.com, so unless you're familiar with the font "sans serif" and understand why it's named as such ("without little dinglers on the letters"), you have to look it up on google or Wikipedia! Ah, me. You are worthy of your legend, Narrator.

Thanks Weien. Sans is actually French for "without" but it is used frequently in English to make one sound smarter. I just like how it sounds.

It's a little past that time again folks, so how about some nominations? Who do you think deserves the coveted "RP'er of the Month" Award for July?

I nominate Alpha. Even though he was a little late in the game when he registered. He made almost all of his posts great to read. They made you really want to know more about the character's past and the character was mysterious. Alpha was able to make this game a bit mor realistic. And I think the best RPer award should go to one of our newest players...Alpha!

Why not? I'll second that nomination. Even if I do think Alpha's a little too new to be recieving this award (even if I am pretty new myself), he's much better than me. Alpha's definitely a good RPer.
(Perhaps too good... He must be using literary steriods! Just kidding.)

I'd like to nominate Grenada for July. Basis for nomination? The stuff in this thread, for example. I really feel that he's been wielding his character's personality with a very distinctive feel--something that is often extremely difficult to make sure that you're doing; the fine line between "repetitively stressing certain qualities of a character so that everyone goes nuts" and "effectively showing certain habits, quirks, and qualities about a character." In fact, I often find myself thinking that "this must be the author's personality," and to me, having someone start to think that is success ^^. *wonders if anyone is starting to think that Weien is dull and wordless*
But again, still an honorable mention to Darilan. A similar strain of the "is this the Author's personality in Real Life?" but slightly less intense/distinct (yet still very memorable in places like the bottom post of this thread). Thumbs up to taking up a role-play related talent and integrating it awesomely. The "how to pronounce Quietar" and related threads are notable, too.
Even if I do think Alpha's a little too new to be recieving this award...
Yes, a plug to Alpha as well! However, I feel that the RP award should go to someone who has participated a bit more in the month of July (whereas Alpha's joining on July 27, well it's just... you know ^^). Just being completely frank with you all. Anyway, hope that makes some sense.

I'm going to nominate Shadowlink this time, Darilan is getting better and better with every post. And he's juggling Wyndisis into his story too! He's playing characters with two completely different personalities to perfection.
I agree that Alpha is doing quite well(especially since it usually takes time to adjust), but I don't know how deserving he is for July. The award is for the best roleplayer of the month. He was only here five days. That might be a slight stretch. In any case, I look forward to seeing his continuation of the story, and if he keeps it up, he might get my vote next month.
OOC: I like what you did Weien. Links to threads is genious.
And Weien, I don't know if either thought is a plus, since I wouldn't want people to think of me as dull and wordless, yet I would want the RP'ing to feel completely natural.

I first want to say that I too believe that I'm too new. I'm truly flattered that you guys considered me for this award, but my personal belief is that I need to be involved for more than just a few days before I'm qualified. If you all still decide to vote for me, then I'll be shocked, amazed, and really, really happy!
Now then...I'm still new, so I don't know all of you guys that well. I would say Weien/Arco, but I've noticed that he got it last month. So instead I'm going to have to go with him and second his nomination for Grenada. He really does do a good job of molding his character into what you'd expect of a mercenary, but in a way that makes him seem different from others. The fact that he's a Deku is probably a big challenge too, but Master Goron pulls it off well!
Ok, there's my thoughts.
P.S. - And Weien, after all the talks we’ve had, I'd say you're anything but dull and wordless.
