Traversing through the Grand Celebration's happenings near the opened gates of the Castle Courtyard, you notice a crowd gathering off to the side around a portion of wall to the right. As you make your way over in that direction, you see that the people are listening to Captain Collonius himself finishing up an announcement of his. “...to participate. All you need do is sign up right here on this sheet and pay the fee,” he motions to a piece of parchment hanging on the wall, which stands as tall as the average height of Gorons, and then down to a desk set up to his side, behind which sits another Hylian Knight. “and then report when your scheduled time comes.

“If you all need any additional information, come speak to me in the Town Square, where we'll be setting up for this exciting event!” A humored grin splashes over his features. “Oh, and a summary of what I've said is also found at the top of this sign-up sheet. More details will be released by the announcers before we begin the event.” With a wave goodbye, he steps away from the sheet and makes his way through the crowd towards the Town Square. The crowd itself quiets, waiting for whosoever will be the first person to sign up.

Stepping closer, you can make out that description which Collonius had mentioned.

~~~Announcing the First Annual Grand Tournament!~~~
As the Grand Celebration is meant to cheer on and offer our support for the brave adventurers traversing and protecting our fair land of Hyrule, what better way to see our heroes in action than watching and cheering them on in a tournament? Come and see warriors battling amongst each other for prizes, glory, and honor, or perhaps you yourself feel inclined to join the tournament as well and pit your own skills against those who have battled wizards, demons, and more! Either way, a grand time is guaranteed for all!
Participation in the tournament is easy; simply sign your name below, and deposit 50 rupees to the Knight behind the table beside you. You will then be randomly assigned an opponent and a fight time for the first round, which we will contact you about.
What are you waiting for?! Sign up now, and prepare for the grandest of battles to ever take place in all of North Hyrule!*
~~~Sponsored by King Harkinian II and the Hylian Knights, and made possible by viewers like you~~~

*Note: grandest of battles refers to those we are willing to let the public know about.

This certainly does sound interesting! Will you sign your name onto the list?

OOC: There is one little restriction I'm going to put onto this. Please only use your main character; no NPC's, please. This is undoubtedly going to be difficult to coordinate, and we don't need to have roughly a hundred participants to further complicate things. :P

Other special details on the tournament

If you sign up, you will randomly be assigned an opponent and a date in which your first match will begin. Every match will be given its own special topic in the Town Square, and every match will be started sometime in the next week. I will be GMing each fight myself. The tournament will actually begin on Sunday, but for those who do not often get on here, sign-ups will actually remain open until the end of next week (aka Saturday, June 23rd, midnight EST).

Because we have the interest of keeping this moving and not wasting too much time, if a participant does not make a reply to his fight's topic three days after his opponent has posted, he/she will forfeit the match. With this in mind, if you are going to have any conflicts (family traveling, work taking up too much time, etc), shoot me a PM and we'll work things out. It's no big deal to change your fight's starting time, after all.

Also, in the interest of making it so that it is actually possible for people to avoid magical based attacks and thereby weaken the monstrous advantage spells have over weapons, when rolling for Magical Resistance in this tournament, getting a [Roll+SPI] of 15 or higher will grant you half damage, and 20 or higher will cause you to avoid it altogether. Spells will still be powerful forces to contend with, but now every participant has at least a 10% chance of dodging the attacks.

Finally, prizes will be done in a most interesting way. Rather than just being done in a first place, second place, third place deal, you will receive a prize each time you advance to the next round. In other words, if you make it to the second round, you'll get a prize. Third round, another, greater prize. Etc, etc, etc. The number of rounds will depend on how many participants we have, and that will help us decide each prize, but the final prize to the winner of the tournament will be 1 TP and the title of Grand Tournament Champion (gotta throw an RP element in here somewhere :P). And yes, this is another reason why we're only allowing you to use your main character.

Rose listened to the Hylian Knight near the back of the crowd. A fierce debate was going on in her head. She normally avoided North Castle and competitions, but this tournament sounded like an excellent way to get some practice that she may not get anywhere else. Finally, after a few minutes of agonizing thought, she walked up to the sheet and signed her name, paying the 50 rupee fee.

OOC: I'm guessing Rose won't be allowed to use her shape shifting ability for this tournament. Or if you're so kind as to allow it, I'm guessing no dragon form allowed. Of course, I may be guessing wrong, so please, let me know.

Dogura followed the man on the hoarse all the way to North Castle, and stopped to take a breather.
Captain Collonius wrote:"...to participate. All you need do is sign up right here on this sheet and pay the fee, and then report when your scheduled time comes."
Dogura stood up, and stared at the sign op sheet for many minutes, watching people enter. In fact, at that very moment, a familiar face, Rose Hillmound signed her name on the sheet. Mulling it over in his mind, Dogura thought of all the things that could happen. Hmm... I could win some major bounty here... On the other hand, I've seen what Ms.Hillmound is capable of... Alright, I'll sign up. I'm promising myself right now that I won't let my competetive spirit get the best of me. Dogura gripped his chest. ... And father... I'm not going to rely on your help during this tournament... Just do me a favor, and keep Shadowclaw restrained at all costs. Dogura smiled confidently, and signed his name on the sheet. Walking away, a few men got out of the line for the tournament. Dogura chuckled, and left for more sight seeing....

OOC: I don't know if we need to donate actual rupees, so I donated anyways just to be safe.

"Must... reach... sign-up sheet..." groaned Blank as he dragged himself horizontally along the ground of the Courtyard. His stomach had inflated a small bit as a result of too much cake, and he was so full that he began to feel sickly - despite how great the cake really was. “Damn you Tingle!” he called out, despite knowing Tingle had not been responsible for making the cake, only for serving the nomad so many pieces. The Hylian felt around for what looked to be a foot, and grabbed gently, trying to pull himself up off the ground - after all, he probably looked like some kind of cake-stuffed moron.

Standing upright, he looked apologetically into the person's face, trying to smile and mumble an excuse. “I'm sorry, sir, feel free to knock me back down, but do know that it was all Tingle's fault!” His head lowered a bit, but without bowing, now that he realized who he was speaking to. “... Good afternoon, Dogura!” he blurted out cheerily, but apparently too late. The samurai was already too far in the distance, having apparently not noticed the nomad who had clung to him. He laughed while muttering to himself. “Just like Dogura. Always moving.” Blank turned to see what the sign-up sheet read.

Well, it was slightly delayed. A snake slithered by his feet, hissing to no one in particular. Blank was deadly afraid of the disgusting, poisonous creatures and leaped back with an embarrassing squeak of fright. It was just a weakling Rope, and a small one at that. Ropes were one of Ganon's least powerful minions, and so they were not often seen around North Castle. And judging by the sun high in the sky, nothing bad was about to happen (after all, pathetic fallacy would kick in and darken the sky, and perhaps cause a storm if that were the case). He stared at the snake as it slithered on, and looked at the path it was taking. Directly behind Dogura's every step. The snake and ranger were lost among the huge crowd quite quickly, and so Blank forgot just as fast. Until, of course, he looked behind him to see the black-cloaked individual darting towards him. A gloved hand reached out towards his chest, and pushed him roughly but without malice to the side. The hooded stranger continued to run, following that same route as had been taken by the snake following the samurai.

Pulling himself up off of the ground yet again, Blank brushed dirt and a child's piece of cake off of his back, shooing the kid away as it ran to find its mother, all the while shrieking in despair at the lost piece of magnificent cake. He quickly scrolled over the sign-up sheet and penned in his name, fully understanding. This tournament promised to be fun. Perhaps he would get to fight Dogura, or Rose (although hopefully not Rose, since he knew he would lose that one. That woman was a fierce one.) More than anything, he wondered if Alpha would be participating. He shivered wondering how bad a battle with the mage could end up. Gazing once again in the direction the Rope and the hooded one had disappeared to, Blank shook his head in bewilderment and continued on his way.

"Hey Big Brother! Look at that!" - Mike yelled, pointing at a sign carefully placed on the wall, surrounded by people placing their names on it. So far, this had been a most awesome experience. It had been a while since Tayro had relived some times with his Orphanage companions, and this celebration was just what he could use to have some fun with them now. Just on this little walk, he had found of various misadventures the guys - and girls - back at the Orphanage had lived through. Michael also referred how his training did not falter even if his 'brethren' were away, and how he had been training their abilities. "When I get to your age, I'll be a Nomad!" - he admitted while they talked. Tayro too told him about his adventures against his foes - though failing to talk about the Hakiems and the Apostles as he didn't want the Orphanage to become a targeted spot - and the numerous places in Hyrule he had visited. Fun times.

Tayro observed the sign attentively as well. "A tournament!" - He spoke, shocked. There was going to be a fighting contest here in North Castle. This is what I've been waiting for! Time to show where my training got me! - he thought. However, his dreams would probably be shattered if his adventurous allies would also sign-in. Knowing them, there was about no chance he'd get victory. Much to his dismay, three known names were already signed - Rose, Dogura and Blank were already in. Tayro sighed. "Don't worry, Big Brother! With your awesome skills, you'll win this easily!" - the younger boy cheered. Tayro grinned back - confidence somewhat restored. "Alright! I'll do it!" - he told the Orphan, and, grabbing a feather, signed his own name at the list. I'll do my best. - he thought, before being pushed again by Mike as to watch another attraction.

"Hm, this looks interesting," said Orpheous, who was shuffling by at the moment. He signed up with the knight and deposited 50 rupees into the box.

Wandering through the North Castle Courtyard and looking around at the many different attractions that have suddenly appeared as if from nowhere, Alpha draws his cape tighter around his form. 'This isn't exactly my kind of a celebration . . . even if it does have some really good cake,' he thinks as his eyes fall upon one portion of the walls. "Hm, wonder what's going on over there," he mutters upon noticing the crowd gathering around a wall . . . a spot that is normally bland and boring.

Squeezing through the crowd, the Sheikah's eyes manage to spot several people he has met throughout the course of his travels, Blank and Tayro being the first he sees, followed shortly by Rose and Dogura, and finally that one guy who he had seen at the Crossroads just before coming here - the one who had strangely known his name even though Alpha was sure he'd never given it out to the guy. Regardless of that fact, the guy's signing some piece of paper hanging from the wall, which prompts the Sheikah to inspect that sheet.

Five minutes later, Alpha's name is added to the list, and he strides away eagerly awaiting the chance to test his strength against his fellow adventurers'.

Worru walks up to the sign-up sheet and signs, thinking, I need something to do anyway.... He drops 50 ruppees in the box, and walks away, steering away from the cake.

Ah a tournament,Just wonderfull they seem to make the party complete with some good fighting! And I maight see how my magical powers have improved.
And some glory is always nice!
Azador thought

Well lets see.. he quikly took a form and wrote down his name.
He took out his wallet let's see.. 15 rupees...17 rupees..damn.... I must have some more

"Any problem mage?"

Azador looked up, and saw a young lad around 20 years old. He had blond hair and had dark blue eyes that seemed to glow a bit. He was cloaked and he seemed to hide a knife underneath it. He smiled "are you going to enter the tournament" he spoke gently

ehhh... you startled me a bit azador answered, ehhh... yes.. I'm a tad short of money the rest is on the bank..

"Ahh yes.. sorry i didn't want mess with your bussiness but I'm new here. owh I havn't interudusted myself have I? I'm Rudulf Heisen a travelling monster mercenery. You're short on money?... I might lend you some" The man replied

Azador toke the money and paid the fee.

"I will pay you back as soon as possible" noted Azador
"But please join me I'm heading to the pub, we might talk there..

the two walked away from the croud, And headed to a dark alley

Saber approached the box and stared at it absentmindedly. A fight...should I? If I win, it would be great publicity for my business, I may be able to add an extension to my shack--maybe a bedroom. I feel so exposed sleeping by the desk...However, I'm also tight on rupees, if I get eliminated I'm going to have to take a few more jobs...I suppose it's all about who I'm up against. He glanced around, noting everybody in the area.

If I fight Alpha, I'm dead. Dogura? Dead. Rose? Most likely dead, especially if she goes Owlbear on me...Blank, Azador1, Orpheous, and Worru? Chances are I can beat them, except maybe Blank...Kasei is invincible, don't see how anyone can beat him.. He shook his head, sighing deeply. Maybe this isn't such a good idea...besides, I'm low on time. He turned and walked away, trying to ignore the nagging emotion inside him, begging him to enter. As he neared the dancers, he stopped suddenly. He grabbed the hilt his saber, and could swear he felt a strange vibe coming from it...he felt...comforted, somehow...

"So, Dad...you haven't quit talking to me after all." He said fondly to himself, ignoring the stares as he closed his eyes, pointing his face towards the sun. As his eyes opened again, a smirk crossed his face, and he radiated confidence. "Alright. For you." He said again, this time giving a sheepish smile to a girl who had happened to be walking in front of him when he spoke. He excused himself and darted to the box, depositing the rupees and writing his name before he could change his mind again.
