Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
Bottles Guide
There are four Bottles that can be obtained in this game. Below is a complete listing of every Bottle in the game and complete steps for how to get each.
- Enter the Kakariko Inn (the really long house in the Village) through the hidden door in the north exterior. Inside you'll emerge behind the bar, where there is a chest with a Bottle inside.
- Also in Kakariko Village, you can buy a Bottle from the Jar Salesman for 100 Rupees.
- Under the birdge where the Zora River begins its flow into Lake Hylia is a vagabond who will give you a Bottle. You'll need to swim up the river from Lake Hylia, and just pass under the bridge to find him.
- While in the Dark World, travel to the equivalent of where the Blacksmiths' workshop is. There you'll find a locked, purple chest. Take the chest with you and head to the man who sits outside of the Desert of Mystery and refuses to talk. Show him the chest and he'll open it for you in exchange for your discretion regarding his past career.
Bottles can hold many different items, each with a different purpose and value. Here's a complete list of what those items are and what the value is of lugging them around in a glass container. To get the Bee or Fairy in your bottle, you need to use the Bug Net (get from the sick boy in Kakariko).
- Fairies, which heal you if you die. That is, they're basically extra lives in a bottle.
- A Bee, which once you release from the Bottle will proceed to attack all enemies on screen. Of course, once the other foes are dealt with, the Bee will then proceed to attack you!
- However, there is also a Good Bee which can be captured. This one will finish all enemies and then wait to be recaptured. The Good bee can be found in the icy cave on the Eastern shoes of Lake Hylia.
- Red Medicine, which can be purchased in shops. It fills the health meter.
- Green Medicine, which can be purchased as well, and fills the magic meter.
- Blue Medicine, which can be purchased and fills both health and magic meters.
