Dungeon Walkthroughs — I. Eastern Palace
Once inside the Palace, go up to the pot directly ahead and pick it up. Underneath hides a button, which you can step on to open the door. Continue ahead to the bridge in the next room where three enemies await. Defeat the three and step on the trick tile in the ground (you can see it protruding slightly upwardly) to open the north door. Go up.
Go up through this hallway playing dodge-ems with the cannonballs, ducking on either alcove as you move north. Once past the gauntlet, duck left and up the stairs below and eastward across the bridge to the four pots and treasure chest. The pots hide various Rupees in them and the chest has 100 Rupees. Return back to where the Cannonballs' source was, and head through the door north of there, up the stairs.
In the next room, round the balcony to the right and go step on the trick tile behind the pots and through the east door that just opens. In this balcony area, go through the topright door. Then, step on the button under the center pot to open the door downwards. Go through that door to the room below. In here, open the chest and grab the Map from the chest, and then jump down and go up the stairs and west back to the balcony area. Then, go west again back to the big room from before and go to the west end of the chamber. Step on the trick tile behind the pots and through the west door that just opens.
In this room, take out the various Stalfos, and then go through the door on the west wall. Here, move to the center of the room to summon several Stalfos. Take them all out (use the jar circling the room for a one-hit kill) and the door north will open. Proceed through.
Ahead is a chest, and within is the compass. That taken, go down the stairs and through the east door. Pass east to see a stone you'll see a lot of in the future on the wall. Activate it to speak briefly with Sahasrahla, who will hint that the Bow is available in this dungeon. Anyways, continue east to the room with the Big Chest and the Big Door. We'll call this the "Big Room," okay? Now, head east again and go down to the room below.
It's dark here, but your lantern lights the way, sort of. Duck to the right and go to the trick tile to open the door you just passed. Circle the room again, avoiding the Bubbles, and go through that door. In this also darkened room, take out the Stalfos lurking in the dark, and collect the small key under one of the pots.
Head back west to the dark spiral room, and use the small key to go through the locked west door. Here, cross the room with the cannonballs west to the next room. In this bigger room, you need to take out all five enemies to make the Bubbles stop circling the pot. Do so (the Armos will be your biggest pain) and the Bubbles will scatter, letting you get at the button under the jar. When you step on the button and chest will appear with the Big Key inside.
Go up through the locked big door, and then east to the Big Room. First, open the chest to get the Bow from it, and then go north through the Big Door. In this next, dark, room there are three torches you can light to make your task a bit easier. You need to take out the two Armos and the other two enemies in the room. One of which will give up the small key. That in hand, go first through the uppereast door to find an area with lots of Rupees. The only problem is the two Bubbles you need to avoid to grab all the Rupees. Once you've had your fill, return to the last room, and go through the upperwest, locked, door and up the stairs.
Here, dispatch the three Armos, and step on the lowermost trick tile to open the door. Go through the west door you opened to enter bombardment hell. Step on the correct trick tile again, the upper left, and go through the west door that opens. In the next room, take out the Stalfos and the red Armos, and then up through the door to the last pre-boss room. Here, take out the foes and then raid the pots for arrows and hearts. Make sure you have a full quiver of 30 arrows before continuing on.
BOSS: Armos Knights
This boss consists of six Armos knights that hop around in various patterns. Lay three arrows into each Knight to take it out, though the last one to survive will turn red and become much more difficult than its fallen brethren. It'll jump around the room, making the kill a little harder to land, but nevertheless, line up your shots and eventually it will fall. When the last Knight pops, you'll receive the pendant of Courage as your prize.
