[Housekeeping] HA2 Character Competition!

To celebrate the ever-approaching opening of South Hyrule, HA2 is happy to announce that we'll be holding a contest for new members! Interested in joining our humble RPG? Well, for a limited time only, join and participate in a few topics to get yourself a chance to win an extra TP (something I know I'd like to have right about now . . .)!

This topic will only be available to newcomers, so those of you who think you can make an extra TP off an easy topic be warned: the TP will be nontransferable and we're not above checking IPs if we think something's up. Besides, this is to attract new members, not more of the same members! tongue

Newcomers will be judged by a panel of highly respectable members of our fair RPG (namely . . . the admins and moderators . . . ) on how well they set up a profile for their characters, as well as their role-playing abilities in several topics we'll have set up specifically for this contest. Strive to impress us with your power in battle, your wisdom in understanding the Rules Set and profile setup, and your courage in . . . well, joining in the first place, and you may find yourself having a leg up on the other newcomers by winning a shiny new Talent Point, redeemable for a number of impressive and necessary abilities!

Want to sign up? Head on over to the Forums (link at the top of the page) and check in the Hyrule Adventures section for the sign-up topic. Be sure to include the username you plan to use when you sign up for HA2. There will be further instructions at the forum topic, so be sure to read the first post!

Alright, so the contest starts... now! Go!

(I'm serious, it starts today. And it will end November 11, a month from now. Approximately anyways, but we definitely won't accept entries after then.)

I hate you, KP. But not really :P. I'll look at it when it comes out. You make me feel so guilty about leaving the game! I'll take a look around there when it's there?

And did you like that I gave you that map of South Hyrule from Master Goron. Guys, I'm not boasting about anything, and I didn't make any of South Hyrule, so don't praise me too much, but it just happened that on May 16, 2006 Master Goron gave me a map of South Hyrule, with all of the Quardinates of what both North and South were supposed to look like ^_^. So I have it to KP. So, yeah, you're welcome. And no, I don't say that so you say thank you. Just enjoy, and use it as a reminder that I still care about HA2. Savvy?

And KP, I've changed my mind about ToT. Maybe I'll give you the ideas from my notes and put it towards HA2. Okay? And no, i will not be a RG... (or will I... hmm... >.>...)

When ever I hear the words,"...understanding the Rules Set and profile setup..." I cringe. Thats why I get kicked out of them so much. I'd love to join, but something tells me I won't make it to the team.

Guys, try anyways. We get a bunch of people who won't even ATTEMPT to understand it (Such as a certain Link909) and annoys the hell out of us, but if you want help we have tons of people willing to help you. I needed help at first too. Trust me, just join and see how you like it. We aren't judgemental, and we DEFINITELY won't kick anyone out.

KP, can I help to make some of the topics maybes?

The initial confusion of joining HA2 (Hyrule Adventures 2, to answer a question that was emailed to me) is why we're having this contest. By taking part you'll be learning the rules; in fact, you'll have a whole month to learn the rules, and you'll be motivated to do so. It's a win-win situation. People WILL be available for help at all times, especially if you're confused about stats. What we're really grading is your ability to RP (roleplay), and you can't really get too much help on that.

Anyways, if you're even thinking about signing up then go ahead and do it, it should be fun whether or not you win and at least you'll get the experience. We're hoping you'll be hooked, too.

I dont know, but I would like to but Ive never played before so Im kinda wondering if I should join, sounds fun though Ill think about it.

Alright I joined and now my brain hurts worse than before.
How do you get to the travelers hostel????
The link in Traveling throughout the castle post doesnt seem to work!
Im more lost than a guy looking for a resteraunt on the moon!!!!
Can somebody please help me or at least tell me where to go to find a working link to the hostle????

All the links work. On the first page, there should be a link to the New Members section under by the picture, you can find most answers to your questions there.

Go to Traveling Throughout the Castle, and click on the link for Castle Courtyard. That should take you to a place with a bunch of topic, look for one called the Traveler's Hostel. Click on it and follow the link.

First of all, sign up at the TDC Forums topic under the Hyrule Adventures section, we need to know your screen name if you plan to participate in the contest. Second of all, look only in the New Members section. That has a detailed set of directions to the Hostel, it's one of the stickied topics. There's also one about creating a character.

Listen up all those who think they might recruit, but refrain from doing so due to the oh so complicated "Rules Set". You're all making this far more complicated than it seems! Take it from Hyrule's favorite samurai! When it comes to your profile setup, there will be someone(maybe even I, if you're lucky) will be there to guide you through it all! To top this off, when in a match, you need not calculate your own attack! The GM(or host of the event or topic) will calculate everything for you(that is if he/she decides to make it a stat based event)! Take it from me, this is far less complicated!

The samurai is right. I volunteer to be a mentor, if anyone needs help just ask. I will also volunteer to GM some of the topics if you want. (Experience FTW )

Yes, I didn't ever have to calculate ANYTHING until I was past level 6...so that's...over 300 posts before I had to calculate anything. and I didn't even HAVE to, just decided to so I could make my event more exciting.

But seriously, guys, why are people talking like they're joined if I'm not seeing any actual sign-up posts over at the forums?! You won't be judged for the contest unless you sign up over there!

Unless you're just joining HA2, if that's the case then just go about your business.

Oh, and as far as I'm concerned anyone who hasn't made a character is eligible for the contest (maybe people who've made characters but never posted might be eligible too, if you have questions post them at the sign-up topic). The sign up topic, FYI, is in the NORMAL Forums. That is to say, the officialy TDC forums available via link at the top of this very page. Go there, register if you're not a member, and post in the sign-up topic with your HA2 username (or future username) to enter the contest.

Sign up for HA2 or the contest? You do have to sign up for HA2 to access the Hostel, because it's a link and within a... well, it's complicated, but yes, you need to be a member of HA2 and be signed in to access it.

Anyways, can we post questions in the topic regarding the contest over at the TDC Forums from now on, please? No one's posted there and it makes me sad.
