Ocarina of Time is without a doubt one of the greatest games ever (but is it the greatest? I'll get to that later), so this is definitely a day worth celebrating. Let's face it, there are very few games that, a decade or more later, you can pick up and still find worth in other than sentimental value. The Desert Colossus might be relatively silent today, but there's a host of other Zelda sites and fans that have taken it upon themselves to write up articles regarding the game. Let's take a look at a few of them, shall we?

The main one that several Zelda sites have been making note of is a new video posted on Zentendo and multiple fansites. It's an old promotional video that was released around the time Ocarina came out, and is essentially 44 minutes of Navi talking people through the basics to playing OoT. The voices are all Japanese(so no, for those of you who hate Navi with the burning passion of a thousand suns, the voice they gave for Navi isn't annoying), but several Zelda fans have been working for a while to provide subtitles for the entire thing. Now we've got a sweet movie of Navi explaining to both Japanese and English literate people how to play through Ocarina. You can find the video here at Zentendo, among others.

A second thing that I think every Zelda fan should take a look at is scans of the latest edition of Nintendo Power, provided here at The Hylia. For Nintendo Power, there was no better way to celebrate the ten year anniversary than to get an interview with Eiji Aonuma, who started his work with the Zelda series by helping develop on Ocarina. I haven't read over it yet myself, but according to The Hylia, it talks "about quite a few things ranging from why an Ocarina was chosen, to the idea of Sheik, to the origins of the targeting systems, to the future of Zelda."

And there are many more sites that have posted tributes to Ocarina. For the past month there's been a group on deviantArt that has been collecting and displaying various pieces of OoT fanart. I highly recommend looking through the Favorites section to see some fantastic work. Then there's Wikipedia, which has Ocarina of Time as today's featured article. And several fansites have posted new articles in celebration of this day, or at least posted something on the mainpage about it.

Is that all I have to say? Don't count on it.  Sunday, the 23rd, marks the day when OoT was released in America, and I'm going to try and post something either then or Monday. I've got an idea for another series of articles that should get me back to being at least somewhat active here on TDC, and I'll be presenting it then.
