Link, New Hyrule's Savior - Chapter I
by Randy Austin

A magnificent land, with green fields, a thick evergreen forest, a huge lake in the South-East, a great snow-capped mountain in the North-West, and numerous towns and cities littered all over it. Soldiers dressed in blue-crested brass helmets and steel armor wieding pikes, longswords and shields escort gold-and-jewelry carrying merchants from town to town, city to city, back and forth. This is Hyrule--or, at least, New Hyrule. The Old Hyrule had sank to the bottom of the oceans a week ago, taking the Humans down with it. Of course, the main authority of Hyrule is a fat, bearded, jolly old man wearing a crown and a red robes with silver embroidery--King Daphnes Nohansen Hyrule II, who lives in Hyrule Palace City, a great walled-up city with giant stone walls, a crocodile-filled moat, a giant drawbridge covered in wet fur to keep it from being set alight, and a great plaza boasting a golden fountain, numerous shops and many ten-floor rental apartment buildings, with the Great Palace Of Hyrule being the Hylians' personal fame and glory, being the largest and most richly decorated but also the most secure building the Hylians have ever seen.

Mt. Snowcap has a cavern built in it, the home of the Gorons. In the depths of the Regal Lake, the Zoras built their domain of fountains, streams and cave-houses. In the Desert Of Death, the Gerudos have set up a great fortress of mudbrick and granite, complete with pipes of bronze, a kitchen where they make hot chilli soup to go with their dry bread and milk, and even an indoor pool. In the middle of the East Forest, the Dekus built a town of barracks and army supply tents, creating an army whose strength can be favaroubly compared to the Hylian Royal Army's. The Kokiri, original inhabitants of New Hyrule, shared their forest with the Dekus, and lived in the East half of the Forest, away from the people and the Dekus, who took up residence in the West Forest.

But there are some other Hylian settlements, the most famous being New Kakariko, a village of inns, bars, and with the Cemetary behind it. But there are also Jutler Town, famous for having the largest militia force, Guru-Guru Town, named after the leader of its classical music band Guru-Guru, Ahmer Village, which sell exotic and priceless marble sculptures, and Dermaias Village, a village known for its massive museum, which boasts ten upper floors, ten basements, a great library and all antiques and Ancient Hylian tablets found up to date.

Of course, there is always the Ruins of Baraffios, an ancient museum tower historians estimate was built twenty-five-thousand years ago and fell into ruin in the past four centuries. Many historians try to study the multi-colored hieroglyphs on granite fragments and ancient code books preserved over the centuries, altough tourists and wandering scribes are a common sight around the Ruins.

However, a startling discovery was made after the Windmill of Jutler Town was halfway done by the historians studying the Ruins of Baraffios;New Hyrule's ancient people, the Magirions, had their own Triforce, balancing Sky(Pale Blue), Earth(Moss Green)and Time(Light Plum), and that it was hid in their own Sacred Realm of forests, and blue sky and a mansion of clocks. Almost instantly, the King ordered all stout-hearted and able-bodied adventurers to search for the N-Force, the Nature Force of New Hyrule's ex-inhabitants, but one thing this fat, jolly old man doesn't know is that Ganon and Agahnim had overheard about this N-Force, and are making plans in Ganon's secret underground lair to get it. . .

In her worry, Princess Zelda VI ran over to Link's--or, at least, his fifteen year old great-grandson's--hut in Guru-Guru Town. Of course, Link VI didn't know who this purple-dress wearing, gold-coronet bearing girl of royalty is, heck he never even heard about royalty. "What? "he said in confusion at that day. Zelda replied, "Come on, you have to save New Hyrule! "and promptly dragged him out. In Hyrule Palace City, Link bought an iron-bladed, wood-hilted, gold-crossguard-bearing, ruby-decorated razor sharp sword from his friend's father, Smithy Ben, but it costed all of his parent's life savings for the fine sword. "It was worth it, "Zelda assured him, but LInk only muttered, "No, it wasn't, I could've become a Knight if I saved up for two more years. ".

Link continued, "And there's no money left for a shield, either. ". But Zelda only said, "Rest assured, I'll get one for you. ", and went to Smithy John, and emerged a few minutes later with a polished, brand new shiny Hylian Shield, and some green and grey clothing. Link reluctantly put them on, and followed Zelda to the Great Palace Of Hyrule. There, the King said to him, "Commoner, bow down to your superior. "in a rather impatient tone. When Link gave a puzzled expression, Zelda whispered in his ear, "That's a polite way to greet royalty and nobles. ". So Link knelt down and bowed his head, and said, "Greetings. ". The King continued in a satisfied voice, "What do you want? And Zelda, why did you bring a fool all the way here? ".

Zelda replied, rather sharply, "He is here to become an adventurer, father. In the hunt for the Nature Force, that is. ". Link also said, "Uh, yeah, superior, what she said. ". The King laughed loudly, and said, "Do you need an intellegence test, young man? This is a man's job, not a boy's. ". But Zelda insists, "Father, let him join. You have to give everyone a chance to try. ". Link also replied, feeling insulted, "Yes, superior. I think I can handle it. I mean, I've got a sword, a shield, and these new lucky clothes. . . plus some rations and a bit of outdoor survival skills. ".

The King inhaled a deep breath, and Zelda and Link wait eagerly for his response. The King sighs, "You may as well go, young man. But the Kingdom will not pay for your death, should you not survive. Many had already died. If you still want to search for the N-Force, go ahead. I will not stop you, but remember, you're risking your life here, and after this there's no turning back. ".

"Thank you, sir. I'll make sure that the Kingdom profits from this. "Link replies with a grin. He stands up and leaves, and Zelda shouts to him, "Good luck, Link. May the Goddeses aid you in your hunt for the Force. ".

Meanwhile, in the Underground Lair of bloody bones and cloth scraps, Ganon says, "Heh, another adventurer to kill. Agahnim, get ready. ". Agahnim replies while kneeling, "Yes sir. ", and shouts, "Bargus, get here! ". A green moblin, twice the size of a regular one, lumbered over in bloody, partially rusted armor and wielduing a lance, shield and mace while leading a chimera. "Yes. . . sir. . . Agahnim. . . "he said. "Bargus, kill this person. I want him dead through any means necessary. "Agahnim instructed the great moblin. "Yes. . sir. . . "it growled. He rode his chimera, which snarls and takes off. Ganon, as a black ghost, said "This better work, Agahnim. "
