Chapter 6, Fortress of Winds
Take the left hallway and follow it in the door. In the next room, take the stairs up. Here, dispatch the Stalfos and move up to the end of the room. Then, shoot the eye on the left wall with your Bow to open the door. Head left.
As you move further into this room, the doors will shut and four Stalfos will attack. Kill them all and the way south will open. Take that way. In the room with the dirt maze, navigate your way over to the ladder. Be careful with the spare rupees, as Like Likes will emerge from either to hassle you. Dispatch them quickly for rupees.
Climb the ladder and make your way left and up. Use the bow to shoot out the top two eyes and take the north door. In here, use the tiles to split and step on the switches. The Eyegores will come alive. Hit R to dump the clone and take both out to make a big chest appear. In the chest is a Compass Head back down and shoot out the eyes on the right wall and head right.
In here small the skulls and use the tiles to split vertically. Push the top big block all the way to the right, then move down and push the bottom block to the left. Dump the clone and split horizontally this time. Return and push the top block all the way up. Dump the clone and pull the switch to make a small key drop from the ceiling. Jump in the hole, claiming the small key and go down back. Head through the second from the right door this time.
Go up the stairs and in this room avoid the pit in the middle as you go around smashing skulls and killing the two Stalfos. The visible chest holds a Blue L Kinstone piece inside. Pulling the left lever will open the south door and the right lever will make a chest with a Blue \ Kinstone piece appear. Go down to the large dirt filled room and navigate to the ladder going up and climb it. In this room make your way up through the door.
From here lead right to the next room and smash the skulls and then dispatch the activate Armos Knight. Then, step on the leftmost tiles and start the splitting process. Complete the split with the rightmost tile. Carefully move right to the last room and step on the two switches above. Go up and shrink using the portal and head down and left and climb up the Armos’ shield to activate it. Then go right and grow using the portal there. As a big Link push the bottom block aside and go kill the Armos Knight. Pull the lever back to make a small key drop to the room below. Go and shrink again, and then jump in the hole. Ignore the key for a second and go right through the hole in the wall, grow using the portal in the next room, and grab the Heart Piece. Now push the second block from the left below you down and go south through the door, then hit the door on your left and get the small key you dropped earlier.
Now, while in the hallway take the second from the left door. Go up the stairs and slay the four Stalfos in the next room. Go up alongside the platform the chest is on and slay the Eyegore. Go up and grab the dungeon map from the chest. Head past the blade traps and unlock the left door. Go up and get on the moving platform, dodging around it to avoid being knocked off by blocks as you head to the other side. Disembark and head left.
"Be very careful, from this point on there are going to be Wallmasters jumping down from the ceiling. If they grab you they’ll take you back to the beginning of the dungeon!"
Use your bow to shoot out the eyes on the left wall and cross the new bridge and go left. In this room a Darknut will appear. Defeat it same way you did in the Castor Wilds (block and stab). Four hits and he’ll go down for the count. Now, head down and stand in the doorway until the traps pass. Then just roll over to the switch, step on it, and head down through the newly opened door.
Head right from here. Bomb the wall in between the two skulls and you’ll reveal a way up. In the north room you’ll find a chest with the Mole Mitts inside! Test them out by digging over to the chest on the right side of the room and grab the 100 Rupees inside!
Head right again and drop down back to where the two locked doors were. This time take the right door. Equip the Pegasus Boots and pull back the lever, holding it until the bridge extends all the way to your ledge. Let go and dash up to the other end. Go right twice, passing the portal. In this room, head to the bottom, jumping in the top middle hole to avoid the spike rollers. Get over to where the floor switches are. Push push/pull the statues so one is on the top left switch and the bottom right switch.
Go up, kill the ropes and split using the top right tiles and the bottom left one. Carefully navigate yourself so that you step on the top right switch and the clone steps on the bottom left (or vice versa depending on which tile you activated the clone on). Either way, a small key will appear, with which you can unlock the door on the south wall of this room. Now head left back to the room with the portal.
Shrink down, head right and go right through the holes in the wall. Navigate your way down through the door you just opened while trying to avoid the rollers (get in between them). Head right and through the hole in the wall up. Grow up using the portal and step on the switch, making a small key appear. Dig over to the key, avoiding the Bubbles that wait in the hole. Grab the small key, shrink down and leave the room. Now, jump off the ledge and grow up using the portal. Kill both floor masters (yeah this will zap you back to the beginning of the dungeon) and go left and down through the door.
In this room dig out the enemies and slay them, and smash the pots for a Mysterious Shell and 50 Rupees. Then go up the ladder. Head north through the door (past all the skulls, some of which fly at you and others are Stalfos in hiding). In the next room there are two holes in the floor. Jump down the right hole and get the Big Key from the chest.
Push the block aside and jump down the ledge on the left side of the room. Go up the stairs and head left. Run down past the Stalfos (or kill them, whatever) and go through the south door. Dig out the statue and push it up onto the blue floor switch. A chest with a Blue L Kinstone will appear. Go up the ladder.
Dig your way up through the dirt to the door and go up. Here push the top right block to the right and the red portal will appear. Unlock the Big Door and go up.
You can smash the skulls being circled by the Bubbles for heart, arrows, and rupees. Then, go up through the north door to face Gohdan.
Gohdan is tricky, but quite easy. If you played Wind Waker you know his weakness is the eyes of his hands. Shoot an arrow to knock a hand down and slash it until it deactivates. Repeat with the other hand to deactivate Gohdan. Then, shrink down using either portal in the room and go in his head. Use the Mitts to dig your way until you find the glowing pillar and slash it until you’re kicked out. Three rounds will do the boss in. Now, grab the Heart Container and go up the stairs. Read the stone at the end of the path.
“We are the Tribe of the Winds. Long have we lived with the winds. We have mastered them. Now, we join them. Together, with the great winds at our backs, we head for the skies. Those who come seeking our power must play the notes Zeffa teaches. May they lead you onward to the power you seek.”
When you are done reading the inscription, a bird will fly by and drop the Ocarina of Wind.
"When you play the Ocarina, it plays the same sound as the flute from Super Mario Bros. 3!"
